GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following weight variations:
Race 2: LADY RAIN (B Loy) – 56kgs (+0.5kg)
Race 4: ABB ROY (M Hellyer) – 55kgs (+1kg)
 
 
Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB Maiden Plate 2170 metres
 
NO MORE RED – Raced three wide in the early stages before progressing forward to race outside the leader from the 1500m. Laid out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
ROWLETT – Began awkwardly.
 
ZOFF THE BOSS – Slow to begin.
 
ALALTUN – Jumped in at the start and bumped TRUTHIZ.
 
KLENOVA – Gave ground from the 700m.  A post-race veterinary examination of the horse revealed no abnormalities. Trainer H Norman indicated KLENOVA would now be retired from racing.
 
TRUTHIZ – Bumped at the start. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Inconvenienced when steadied from the heels of the weakening KLENOVA near the 500m.
 
REIGN HAYLIN SHINE – A post-race veterinary examination of the horse revealed a slow post-race recovery. Trainer B Hill indicated REIGN HAYLIN SHINEwould now be retired from racing.
 
 
Race 2: IN CAHOOTS CO. Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed approximately 2 minutes to allow farrier attention to LADY RAIN.
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight R Maloney, rider of second placegetter MIRROR ONE, viewed the patrol footage over the concluding stages before taking the matter no further and correct weight was subsequently declared on the semaphored placings.
 
CAPTURED IN TIME – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
INCLUSION – Began awkwardly.
 
MIRROR ONE – Taken out marginally over the last 50 metres when LADY RAIN laid out under pressure.
 
TIME TO TESTIFY – From the wide barrier restrained shortly after the start and shifted across heels to a rearward position closer to the rails. Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
LADY RAIN – On arrival at the barriers the near hind plate was refitted. Laid out under pressure over final 50 metres.
 
LILIPOP – Slow to begin. Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
MOON STALKER – Jumped out at the start. Leaving the 800m, when racing in restricted room, was steadied from the heels of CAPTURED IN TIME which shifted in at that point. Apprentice E MacPherson, rider of CAPTURED IN TIME, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
WAR HOPE – Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages.
 
A DEVIL'S CHANCE – Slow to begin.
 
PEARLS 'N' PIMMS – Began awkwardly. Over-raced for some distance between the 1000m and the 800m.
 
CEDAR CREEK – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
BEYOND THE SEA – Steadied from the heels of PEARLS 'N' PIMMS near the 800m. Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. Rider J Taylor dropped his whip near the 50 metres.
 
 
Race 3: MATTHEW BOWDEN BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 800 metres
 
RAMTASTIC – Laid out in the early stages and a short distance later had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of NAYTELLRHI BIRD approaching the 600m. Disappointed for a run between A GIOOD CHANCE and NO BETTER AFFAIRE approaching the 100m.
 
COPPER SUNSET – Slow to begin and then unable to muster speed in the early stages. Rider E MacPherson reported in her opinion COPPER SUNSET would be better suited to races over a longer distance than that of today.
 
NO BETTER AFFAIRE – Rider T. Brooker reported the horse was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. Placed in restricted room and had to be steadied over final 100m when SONGZILLA shifted ground. L Allen, rider of SONGZILLA, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
 
LOGAN'S BLADE – Raced five wide throughout the event.
 
DREAM WEAVING – Began awkwardly and lost ground. At the winning post placed in restricted room and contacted the running rail and became severely unbalanced when RAMTASTIC was taken in by A GOOD CHANCE. H Richardson, rider of A GOOD CHANCE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of RAMTASTIC which was taken resulting in DREAM WEAVING being checked. The licence of H Richardson to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 13th August up to and including midnight 20th August 2022.
 
ARROW EXPRESS – Raced four wide throughout the event.
 
SONGZILLA – Rider L Allen dropped her whip near the 200m. Raced three wide throughout the event. Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
TROPICS – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced shortly after the start when had to be eased momentarily when racing in restricted room.
 
BONGANI – Laid out near then 450m and as a consequence had to be steadied from heels.
 
 
 
Race 4: GRANT LOWE BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1350 metres
 
BRAVE WARRIOR – Over-raced in the early stages of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
GRAND ZOU – Slow to begin.
 
TABARD – Jumped out at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event and made the home turn very wide on the track. Rider E MacPherson reported TABARD hung out for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J Gregory was advised a warning would be placed on the racing manners of TABARD.
 
 RIVER ROCKET – As Apprentice S Tomlinson was to be overweight, Stewards permitted A Thompson to ride the horse. S Tomlinson was fined $200 under AR190(3). Shifted in abruptly on jumping resulting in FORT MEYER being buffeted and losing ground.
 
MISHANI UNTAMED – Crowded on jumping between TABARD which jumped out and FORT MEYWER which was taken in RIVER ROCKET.
 
FORT MYER – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 5: SWITCH ON INC. RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1350 metres
 
ASTUTE – Bumped rounding the home turn when NIGHT GUY shifted out to improve. Rider J Orman reported the horsetravelled comfortably in the run however was disappointing when placed under pressure from the 500m.A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SCOTTISH PRINCE – Jumped out at the start and bumped ATLANTIC ROYAL. Held up rounding the home turn and again near the 200m. When asked to comment on tactics adopted rider B Stewart advised instructions were not to bustle the horse early and to settle where comfortable as the horse had raced keenly when ridden forward last start, adding that from the wide draw today he was obliged to settle one pair further back than preferred. Stewards accepted the explanation.
 
TYCOON DANCER – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
CRAZY EYED FRED – Held up rounding the home turn. Approaching the 200m obliged to race in restricted room between SIZZLING RIVER and CAMARILLO which shifted out marginally under pressure. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
NIGHT GUY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

SIZZLING RIVER – Over-raced in the early and middle stages and near the 700m had to be steadied from heels.
 
BARRYMORE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
BIRKIN BLACK – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
ATLANTIC ROYAL – Bumped at the start. Lost off hind plate in running.
 
 
Race 6: GREAT NORTHERN RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1350 metres
 
KING'S CONTRACT – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. Rider reported the horse was making a respiratory noise on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer B Hull was advised KING’S CONTRACT would require a veterinary clearance including the results of a satisfactory endoscopic examination prior to its next race or trial start.
 
MISS TWENTY TWENTY – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
SHOPPING WISE – Slow to begin. Near the 200m momentarily steadied from the heels of SPIRIT OF BEANS which shifted out to improve. 
 
BANKROLL BABE – Slow to begin.
 
BRIEF SOJOURN – Leaving the 1000m momentarily placed in restricted room when TICINO BLLE laid in despite the efforts of its rider.
 
TICINO BELLE – Laid in near the 1000m despite the efforts of its rider. Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
 
 
Race 7: KINGSLEY LAWSON LAWYERS Fillies and Mares Class 2 Plate 1200 metres
 
BONNIE EV – Began awkwardly and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the off foreleg.
 
DREAM DECISION – Bumped at the start.
 
FAATINAAT – Fractious leaving the saddling enclosure and moving onto the track. Trainer L Mayfield-Smith was advised a warning would be placed on the horse’s pre-race manners.Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MONEY IN MY POCKET – Jumped in at the start and bumped DREAM DECISION. Over-raced in the early stages of the event and near the 900m was steadied from heels as a consequence. Rider R Maloney reported he horse travelled comfortably until placed under pressure near the 400m and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. Trainer K Fogden was advised MONEY IN MY POCKET would require a veterinary clearance including the results of satisfactory endoscopic examination prior to its next race or trial start.
 
SOUL SPIRIT – Hung out for the majority of the event when racing wide. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
MEXICAN STAR – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 8: TAB Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Plate 1200 metres
 
COMMENTS – When asked to comment on tactics adopted rider R Wiggins advised there were no set instructions other than allow the horse to settle where comfortable, adding that with the addition of blinkers and back in distance, COMMENTS settled in a forward position with cover. Trainer C Munce confirmed the instructions. Stewards noted the explanation of both R Wiggins and C Munce.

FLYBRIDGE – Slow to begin.
 
MENSA MAESTRO – Shifted out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.

SNAZZ 'N' CHARM – Slow to begin. Momentarily inconvenienced near the 250m when MENSA MAESTRO shifted out under pressure.
 
TITANIUM – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
UNCLE RUSS – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
BIXILON – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
CHARGED – Over-raced in the early and middle stages and as a result improved onto heels near the 800m and raced wide from that point. Rider T Harrison reported CHARGED may benefit with the removal of blinkers going forward.
 
 
Race 9: SIRROMET BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1680 metres
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight Trent Edmonds, co-trainer of BURLLESY, viewed the start of the event and was satisfied that the horse was afforded a fair start and it was the actions of BURLLESY that resulted in it beginning poorly.
 
BURLESY – Dropped its head as the start was effected and lost ground. Hampered near the 1000m.
 
CANNY CAT – Jumped in at the start and bumped POINT THE WAGON. Near the 1000m shifted in and away from DUNDAS and bumped A BIG CHANCE. Lost the off-hind plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to the near foreleg.
 
POINT THE WAGON – Bumped at the start.
 
A BIG CHANCE – Crowded and lost ground near the 1400m when DUNDAS shifted in and away from DUNDAS. Near the 1000m crowded for room and became unbalanced after being bumped by CANNY CAT which shifted in and away from DUNDAS.Both BURLESY and EL CHAPARRO, which were following, were hampered as a consequence.
 
NORTH ROCKS – Bumped at the start.
 
EL CHAPARRO – Jumped out at the start and bumped NORTH ROCKS. Hampered near the 1000m.
 
DUNDAS – Near the 1400m shifted in and away from TYCOON PLAYER crowding A BIG CHANCE which was hampered. Lost the off fore plate in running.
