GENERAL
 
As L Tarrant was unable to attend the meeting due to transport issues, Stewards permitted riding changes as per the Race Day summary sheet.
 
Stewards permitted the following weight variations:
 
Race 2: ROMAN QUEEN – T Brooker 54.5kg (+0.5kg)
Race 4: LEXINGTON LAD – C Robertson 54.5kg (+0.5kg)
Race 7: BULLOO – A Mallyon 55.5kg (+0.5kg)
Race 9: CARDICE - C Robertson 54.5kg (+0.5kg)
 
 
Race 1: ENDED QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
BLUE RAY – Bumped heavily and lost ground rounding the home turn. J Orman, rider of SABALENKA, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 400m he directed SABELEMKA out at an acute angle to obtain clear running and doing so made heavy contact with BLUE RAY which was bumped heavily, became unbalanced and lost ground. When determining penalty Stewards took into J Orman’s exemplary race riding record and he was issued a reprimand.
 
MR FINNIGAN – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
OUR MATE STUMPY – Rider J Cornish dropped her whip near the 250m.
 
CRUISING BILL – Slow to begin.
 
LADY AUSTEN – Jumped out at the start and bumped STAR OF MILAN.
 
ELESPRIT MISS – Slow to begin.
 
STAR OF MILAN – Bumped at the start. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
 
Race 2: CHANGE EXCHANGE Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
YANGARI – Slow to begin.
 
HAITCH (NZ) – Bumped at the start and lost ground.
 
BEANHUGGED – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Over-raced in the early stages of the event.
 
RIVERS LUCK – Jumped out at the start and bumped HAITCH which lost ground.
 
IRRESISTABULL – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
ROMAN QUEEN – Slow to begin.
 
TAKE ME ON – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 3: I LOVE TURF Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 metres
 
LEMON DUCHESS – Began awkwardly and jumped outwards at the start.
 
GOLDSCHLAGER – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
ROSE OF DUPORTH – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
FORBIDDEN ONE (NZ) – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
MISS MECCA – Crowded at the start and lost ground.
 
MARLA JANE (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 4: KUNDA PARK AUTO Colts, Geldings and Entires BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 metres
 
DOMINARCHER – Near the 150m became awkward when placed in restricted room to the inside of GAUNTLET.
 
MAJESTICS REQUEST – Slow to begin. Over-raced for some distance near the 1000m when the pace steadied. Held up rounding the home turn and near the 150m was inconvenienced when steadied from heels.
 
GAUNTLET – Over-raced for some distance near the 1000m when the pace steadied.  Had some difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
BOUNTY HUNTER – When weakening near the 150m was inconvenienced when racing in restricted room.
 
CORONEL – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
REDSTONE – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
MINOR LUCK – Slow to begin.
 
LEXINGTON LAD – Raced three wide with cover throughout. When the pace eased in the early stages raced ungenerously with its head in the air for some distance.
 
 
Race 5: INK SPOT Class 5 Handicap 1200 metres
 
PRIDE OF PYINGERRA – When asked to comment on the performance rider J Cornish stated the horse travelled well during the event however when placed under pressure failed to respond to her riding and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed poor post-race recovery.
 
DR VELOCIOUS (NZ) – Jumped in at the start and bumped MISS MCKINLEY.
 
DARE TO SHARE – Held up rounding the home turn and the early stages of the home straight before obtaining clear running near the 300m.
 
MISS MCKINLEY – Bumped at the start and lost ground as a result.
 
COSMIC GOSSIP – Slow to begin.
 
LOVE YERS ALL – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 6: STORAGE KING BENCHMARK 85 Handicap 1200 metres
 
ROMAN AUREUS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
BOLD STYLE – Slow to begin.
 
MACCHINA VOLANTE – Slow to begin.

DON'T STOP – Over-raced when restrained to obtain cover in the early stages. N Rawiller, rider of DON’T STOP, will be reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.
 
BARGANNON – Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 500m and had to be steadied.
 
THE PINES – Slow to begin.
 
TARA JASMINE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
LOVE SENSATION – Struck over the head with the whip of another rider near the 250m.
 
 
Race 7: KSCH CRANES BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1600 metres
 
FACTORY WARRIOR – Began awkwardly and lost ground. After being caught wide in the early stages, progressed forward to race outside the leader near the 800m.
 
RAGING POLE – From the wide barrier was restrained shortly after the start to rearward position closer to the rails.
 
KUZCO LAD – Crowded for room and had to be steadied when FACTORY WARRIOR shifted in when not clear. A Jones, rider of FACTORY WARRIOR, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
 
RHYME TIME – A post-race veterinary examination of the horse revealed a laceration to the nearside hock, consistent with being galloped on.
 
COLLAY'S SPIRIT (NZ) – Checked to avoid the fallen BULLOO near the 500m and was subsequently eased out of the event by its rider.
 
BULLOO – Blundered and fell near the 500m. Rider A Mallyon was treated on course by QAS staff before being transported to hospital for further treatment. A Mallyon will require a medical clearance prior to his next race or trial ride. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse revealed no abnormalities.
 
SEDUCTION QUEEN – Checked to avoid the fallen BULLOO near the 500m and was subsequently eased out of the event by its rider.
 
PRINCE ALBY (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
BOLD DELAGO – Checked to avoid a fallen rider near the 500m and was subsequently eased out of the event.
 
 
Race 8: WE BUILD POOLS BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1000 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed allowing QAS staff to attend to jockey A Mallyon from the previous event with Race 8 start time amended to 7:45pm and Race 9 to 8:17pm. The start was further delayed allowing farrier attention to PHANTOM SPIRIT.
 
PHANTOM SPIRIT – On arrival at the barriers the near fore plate on the horse was refitted.
 
ZEPHYR CRUISER – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
RAFFALLI – Bumped with REGAL EYES on jumping away.
 
DAULAT MACHTIGAMOR – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
BRIGHT DAISY – Steadied when racing in restricted room near the 800m.
 
REGAL EYES – Bumped with RAFFALLI on jumping away.
 
 
 
Race 9: MOOLOOLAH VALLEY COUNTRY CLUB Class 3 Handicap 1000 metres
 
ONE SHY RUBY – Raced three wide throughout. Lost off hind plate in running. B Stewart, rider of ONE SHY RUBY, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.
 
BOOMBRASSTIC – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
DEVIL'S RITE – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping KNOCKNEE. When asked to comment on the performance, Rider A Jones stated she had expected to race in a more forward position however after beginning awkwardly settled further back in the field than anticipated, adding that the horse, in her opinion, did not appreciate the rain affected ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
KNOCKKNEE – Bumped heavily at the start and lost ground. Rider T Brooker reported the horse did not feel comfortable in its action during the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SINGLE MEMO – Steadied over the concluding stages when ONE SHY RUBY shifted out under pressure.
 
CARDICE – Slow to begin. Steadied to avoid the heels of SINGLE MEMO near the 400m. J Lloyd, rider of SINGLE MEMO, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
