SUPPLEMENTARY
SUNSHINE COAST 3 JUNE 2022 Race 7
COLLAY’S SPIRIT – Trainer reported that when examined on return to his stable, the gelding had an abrasion to the offside knee, and a swollen offside eye.

GENERAL
As Jockey Du Plessis was indisposed stewards permitted changes as per the stewards race day summary.
 
Race 1: SUNNY COAST JOBS QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1300 metres
 
Mishani Persuasion – Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight.
 
Artemas – Rider reported his mount raced green throughout.
 
Redwana – Jumped away awkwardly. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Apprentice Rabjones stated that REDWANA began only fairly but was able to settle into a comfortable position. She added when asked for an effort on entering the straight, failed to respond to her riding and weakened noticeably. A post race veterinary examination revealed an abrasion to the near fore leg and an elevated heart rate. Trainers representative reported that REDWANA would be spelled. A post race sample was taken.
 
Whistling Spirit – Lost off fore plate in running.
 
Bramble Bay – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Elliez Star – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn to approaching the 350m.
 
Torque Leica Star – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 2: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres
 
Sneaky Starter – Jumped away awkwardly and was severely hampered shortly after jumping having its hindquarters turned and lost ground. Rider reported her mount raced ungenerously following being inconvenienced on jumping but would take benefit from the todays run.
 
Bokuden – Tightened on jumping and lost ground.
 
Cabrinella – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly after being bumped in the hindquarters and hampered SNEAKY STARTER. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Last Chance Saloon – Shifted in shortly after jumping tightening BOKUDEN.
 
Elohim – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out hampering KOURNIKOVA.
 
Kournikova – Hampered shortly after jumping having its hind quarters turned and losing ground. Rider reported that the filly would benefit with the removal of ear muffs.
 
 
Race 3: SUNNY MEDIA BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1800 metres
 
Conquer The Stars – Apprentice M Castle was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m.
 
Vitesse Francais – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Salazar – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 4: SUNNY MEDIA BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1800 metres
 
Honestyandloyalty (NZ) – Passing the 900m had to be steadied off heels after the pace of the race slackened.
 
Military Men – Jumped away awkwardly. Passing the 900m had to be steadied off heels after the pace of the race slackened.
 
I Am Winkles – Jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 1300m steadied off heels after the pace of the race slackened.
 
Scenic Rim – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5: DOUBLE R THOROUGHBREDS QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200 metres
 
The Kewess – Jumped away awkwardly. Obliged to steady passing the 900m when awkwardly placed on heels.
 
Kenny Boy – Obliged to steady passing the 900m when awkwardly placed on heels.
 
Richunclemoneybags – Slow to begin. Passing the 900m had to be checked when placed in restricted room to the inside of DUCHESS ROTHESAY, which was carried in by GOLDEN EIGHTY, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey B Loy plead guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) and was suspended for seven days to commence midnight 11 June 2022 to midnight 14 June 2022. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
Duchess Rothesay – Hampered and lost ground when carried in passing the 900m by GOLDEN EIGHTY.
 
Race 6: PERRY'S SUNSHINE COAST EVENT HIRE WINTER PROVINCIAL STAYERS-HEAT-BENCH 2400 metres
 
Brilliant Concept – Passing the 800m was obliged to race in restricted room when having to avoid the weakening DAULAT ULTI MAIORA.
 
Accessory – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn to passing the 350m.
 
Firebox – Passing the 350m had to shift in to improve into clear running.
 
Aliraaj (NZ) – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow post race recovery.
 
Daulat Ulti Maiora - Overraced in the early stages of the event. Passing the 1800m commenced to race ungenerously when being restrained. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow post race recovery.
