GENERAL
As Jockey H Richardson was indisposed, stewards permitted the changes as per the stewards race day summary. As B Loy was unable to make weight on Hoot 'N' Holler, stewards permitted L Kilner to ride the Filly. B Loy was fined $100 under the provisions of AR190(3).
 
 
Race 1: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA QTIS Two-Years-Old Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
Big Sky Country – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Cripps Tonite – Laid out when placed under pressure over the final 200m of the event.
 
Handsome Prince – Jumped away awkwardly. Rider reported that his mount raced greenly throughout and would derive benefit from todays race experience.
 
Mishani Mobster – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Hoot 'N' Holler – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event. Rider reported that her mount raced green throughout the event.
 
Torque Espagna – Slow to begin.
 
Race 2: REED RACING QTIS Two-Years-Old Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
Bulikov – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Cool 'N' Ready – Rider reported that his mount raced green throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight and was obliged to stop and straighten his mount on a number of occasions.
 
Rubunkar – Jumped away awkwardly making heavy contact with the outside barrier partition.
 
Ethelda – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Red Boomshakalaka – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
War And Finance – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
 
Race 3: RACE ZONE RACING SUPPLIES Class 1 Handicap 1800 metres
 
Komata – Slow into stride. Improved onto heels over the concluding stages and had to be steadied.
 
Legend I Am – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Zayde – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and had difficulty obtaining clear running unil the 100m.
 
Betty Whitegold – Raced green under pressure in the straight.
 
Jetset Annie – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Ms Minnelli – Held up for clear running on entering the straight
 
Playing Hookie – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 4: RACE ZONE RACING SUPPLIES Class 1 Handicap 1800 metres
 
Prince Alby (NZ) – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages of the event. Carried wider on the track passing the 700m.
 
Contreras – Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight and was obliged to shift in to improve.
 
Inordinate Opinion – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight till approaching the 300m.
 
Fiorente Star – Steadied off heels passing the 700m. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and shifted out passing the 400m contacting PRINCE ALBY (NZ).
 
Waikato – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Raced wide during the early stages and was able to obtain cover passing the 1200m. Passing the 1000m shifted wider while overracing and raced three wide without cover for the remainder of the event.
 
Race 5: FLYING START SYNDICATIONS QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
Better To Excel – Raced wide throughout the event. Rider reported that his mount made abnormal respiratory noises during the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed signs of a respiratory condition and a slow recovery. Trainer was advised that the gelding would require an endoscopic examination and veterinary clearance prior to accepting for a future race start.
 
Billy's Bro – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Bold Rumble – Hung out throughout the event placing its rider at a disadvantage.
 
Chain Of Fire – Raced wide throughout the event. Rider reported that his mount hung out throughout.
 
Figure It Out – Slow to begin and was steadied off heels shortly after jumping away. Held up for clear running on entering the straight and had to shift in to improve. Passing the 200m had to shift in away from the heels of MILLWARD. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Greyt Cat – Slow to begin. Rider reported that his mount made abnormal respiratory noises during the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of cardiac arrythmia and abnormal respiratory noises. Trainer was advised that he would be required to furnish the results of an ECG, veterinary clearance and an endoscopic examination prior to performing satisfactorily in an official barrier trial.
 
Millward – Raced greenly in the early and middle stages.
 
Moon Stalker – Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight.
 
Seenuscoming – Raced wide throughout the event. Rider reported that her mount made abnormal respiratory noises during the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.
 
Race 6: COASTLINE MINI GARAGE Fillies and Mares Class 2 Handicap 1400 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed owing to a delay at an interstate venue. The start was further delayed owing to Valley Of Roses proving difficult to load.
 
Boitumelo – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Emmasam – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Le Grand Louvre – Hampered passing the 300m when racing in restricted room.
 
Nizhoni Lass – Slow to begin.
 
Perfect Legacy – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Taormina Duchess – Jockey M Murphy was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m.
 
Valley Of Roses – Difficult to load and was fractious in the barriers. Trainer was advised that VALLEY OF ROSES would require a further barrier certificate prior to next start. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Birdie Belle – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Following the running of the event, R Maloney was examined by the club doctor and was stood down from his remaining engagements. Stewards permitted changes as per the raceday summary.
 
Race 7: MORETON ALL BODY CARE Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Handicap 1400 metres
 
Goldschlager – Steadied passing the 1300m to avoid the heels of TONI TOO (NZ), which shifted in. Jockey C Robertson was advised to exercise greater care. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
Mystic Aroma – Trainer reported that the filly would be ridden further back from the wide barrier today if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Held up for clear rounding the home turn and was disappointed for a run to the inside of HEAVEN AMORE (NZ) and was obliged to alter course. Passing the 200m was again disappointed for a run after TONI TOO (NZ) shifted in.
 
Heaven Amore (NZ) – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and was obliged to shift in to improve. Approaching the 200m was disappointed for a run and was obliged to steady.
 
Toni Too (NZ) – Rider dropped his whip passing the 100m.
 
D'esprit – Forced wider from the 800m and raced wide for the remainder of the event.
 
Selling Sunset – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 8: MORETON ALL BODY CARE Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Handicap 1400 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed owing to EARN OUT proving reluctant to proceed to the barriers.
 
Bofors – Slow to begin. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight. Passing the 300m had to be steadied after becoming awkwardly placed on heels.
 
Back When – Obliged to steady over the concluding stages when racing in restricted room between BIRKIN BLACK, which was carried out by GENTLE PRINCE and KENNY BOY, which laid in under pressure. Jockey Cassidy, rider of KENNY BOY, and Apprentice W Peel, rider of GENTLE PRINCE, were both reminded of their obligations to stop and straighten their mounts when they shift ground in future.
 
Anarchy – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Remunerative – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Kenny Boy – Forced wider on the track passing the 1000m. Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Leave Me Along – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Richunclemoneybags – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
Gentle Prince – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and was shifted in to improve. Passing the 300m raced in restricted room for a number of strides. Laid out over the concluding stages.
 
Birkin Black – Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages to the inside of BACK WHEN, which was carried in by KENNY BOY and GENTLE PRINCE, which shifted out.
 
Race 9: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY WINTER PROV SPRINTERS – HEAT – Benchmark 75 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Edit (NZ) – Slow to begin. Obliged to race in restricted room for a short distance passing the 800m and had to be steadied. When attempting to improve into clear running on entering the home straight, was disappointed for a run to the inside of SIESTA KEY and had to be checked. Held up for clear running until approaching the 100m.
 
Festival Prince – Improved onto heels passing the 800m and had to be steadied.
 
Kosciusko – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Siesta Key – A post race veterinary examination revealed signs of the thumps and a poor post race recovery.
 
Renouf – Slow to begin. Passing the 400m raced in restricted room and had to be steadied off the heels of FESTIVAL PRINCE.
 
Rollinwiththeflow – Raced wide throughout the event. Hung out throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery.
 
Kudu – Raced wide throughout the event.
