Apprentice W Peel reported that the gelding took some riding in the early stages to obtain its customary leading position. She added that once able to find the leading position near the 1000m, the gelding travelled only fairly and was disappointing in the home straight when placed under pressure. Apprentice Peel went on that state that in her opinion the gelding failed to handle the prevailing tack conditions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
