Began awkwardly, losing ground. When asked to comment on the performance of the gelding, jockey L Dittman advised that he had anticipated leading the event however when the gelding lunged forward in the barriers just prior to the start being affected, this resulted in him settling further back in the field than anticipated. Jockey Dittman advised that in his opinion racing in a rear wood position was the major contributing factor to the below market expectation performance as the gelding travelled comfortably during the event and returned to scale with no apparent issues that he could detect.
