Jockey J. Byrne reported he was tightened for room at the start and lost ground, causing him to be positioned further back in the field than anticipated. He added at no stage of the race would he say the horse travelled comfortably and when asked for an effort, failed to respond to his riding and proved somewhat disappointing.
