Racing Queensland confirms that following the abandonment of the Brisbane Racing Club meeting today, Saturday 20 April (after 7 of the 9 scheduled races had been run), the Princess Stakes (Listed) has been re-programed and will now be run at the Sunshine Coast TC meeting on Sunday 21 April.

The same field and barrier draws for the race will be retained, with scratchings reinstated.  The race will be run as the 9th and last race over 1600m on the SCTC program at 5:27pm.

The connections of those horses which choose not to start their horse in the rescheduled race will not incur any feature race acceptance fees and the connections of all horses denied the opportunity to race at Doomben (i.e. in the last 2 abandoned races) will be compensated under the auspices of the RQ Race/Race Meeting Abandoned Race/Race Meeting Policy.

The decision to reschedule the race to the Sunshine Coast race meeting was made following extensive consultation between RQ, the Australian Trainers Association and individually, the trainers with horses engaged in the Princess Stakes at Doomben.

RQ will also give consideration to the SEQ programs as a consequence of racing opportunities lost with the abandonment of the last race on the Doomben program, a Benchmark 85 Handicap.
