Racing Queensland (RQ) advises that the lure rail and post replacement project for the Rockhampton Greyhound Racing Club is scheduled to commence on Monday 17 May 2021. The current lure rail has been in place for 37 years and subjected to flooding over its time, making this upgrade fundamentally essential.

The project is expected to take five weeks to complete inclusive of testing of the new lure rail and return to racing trials. Other works at the Club will also be progressed during this time including a new judges tower with a new camera position for Sky Racing vision, irrigation works, landscaping, and a track renovation.

The Club will not race whilst the works are in progress with the final race meeting to be Wednesday 19 May 2021. The scheduled race meetings on Wednesday 26 May 2021, Wednesday 2 June 2021, Wednesday 9 June 2021, and Wednesday 16 June 2021, have been transferred to replacement Queensland greyhound venues.

The complete list of replacement meetings and timeslot changes are as follows:

  • Capalaba to race in the day timeslot

Thursday 3 June 2021

  • Bundaberg to race in the day timeslot

Wednesday 16 June 2021

  • Ipswich to race in the night timeslot

Thursday 17 June 2021

  • Capalaba to race in the day timeslot (transferred from Wednesday 16 June 2021)
