RACE TWO

FRANCO TOTEM (11) will take benefit from his latest start when returning from a break he held on for 3rd at Marburg after being locked away and not entirely comfortable on the tight track. Possessing a booming finish when saved, he can be ready to power over the top here to take the prize.

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (5) was sent forward from gate 7 here on Tues over the 2138m and was keen in front before fading off. He found the line in good order 2 starts back when 3rd to NONE BETTOR and sent forward here can look to take control with the trip back to a mile in his favour.

DEECAESAR (9) pressed ahead to find the breeze here on Tues and proved too strong over the 2138m in holding on for a 3m victory. His run behind CODE BAILEY 2 starts back was a tidy effort and he can feature.

RIVERLEIGH JEFF (2) did plenty of work in the run last time out at Marburg and was in for the fight when only going under a half-neck. From the gate he can settle handy and chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: FRANCO TOTEM (11), PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (5), DEECAESAR (9), RIVERLEIGH JEFF (2)
SUGGESTED BET: FRANCO TOTEM (11) to win

RACE THREE

SUBTLE DELIGHT (10) had no luck with the barrier and was too far back last start in a driver’s invitation race but was still making strong ground when 10m from the winner PSYCHEDELIC. That followed a tidy effort in the Premiers Cup and with even luck he can arrive in time for this.

GLENFERRIE BABY (4) had a play for the front here last start in a mares qualifier but couldn’t quite get there. Working hard in the run from the breeze she was a fighting 3rd when 1m from the winner. IF she takes a shot and can find the pegs, she will be right in the fight again.

COMIGAL (11) has been in the money at 5 of her past 6 with her run 2 starts back a solid effort when looming up to win after a wide trip and only finishing a neck away. She is in the mix.

GOODTIME STRIDE (9) did plenty of work in the run here on Tues which didn’t suit and she folded up over the 2138m. Her run 3 back was a nice effort and with even luck can be much sharper in this.

SELECTIONS: SUBTLE DELIGHT (10), GLENFERRIE BABY (4), COMIGAL (11), GOODTIME STRIDE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SUBTLE DELIGHT (10) each-way

RACE FOUR

SOMEPARTYSOMEWHERE (4)
pressed on to the pegs here last week from gate 6 over the 2138m trip and controlled it with a solid tempo out in front and held on for a narrow victory. He was game in defeat when facing the breeze off the 2nd line 2 starts back and can look to take charge of this.

OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE (8) had conditions to suit last week and following the speed in the pocket trail was able to sprint sharply once the gap opened to take the prize. She is likely to be shuffled back here but with a strong tempo looking the order, she will be ready to swoop when needed.

MAKO BANNER (1) did plenty of work in the run last start when circling the field from the 2nd line to apply the heat to SOMEPARTYSOMEWHERE and finish 4m in arrears. From the gate he will be ready to strike.

LOCKTON LUCK (6) started fav here last time out and sent to the front was able to dictate and score a comfortable victory. That followed a tidy effort in the 4YO Championship and he can podium.

SELECTIONS: SOMEPARTYSOMEWHERE (4), OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE (8), MAKO BANNER (1), LOCKTON LUCK (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SOMEPARTYSOMEWHERE (4) to win

RACE FIVE

CODE BAILEY (3) had a match race here on Tuesday in a Breeders Crown heat against COLT THIRTY ONE and he sat outside the Qld champ most of the trip with the middle 800m set at a blistering speed. He had won his previous 2 races and if he has taken no harm, he can go again here.

LIVING AGAIN (1) grabbed the bronze behind CODE BAILEY here last week after taking the trail from this gate and following home onto the podium. His run 3 starts back was a tough effort and with the cosy trip can look to hold onto again.

LIKEALLOFUS (8) is effective when saved up for a closing sprint along the inside and has conditions to suit here. He claimed the silver behind UNTITLED 2 starts back and will be flashing home late.

ROCK WITH SAM (9) pressed ahead from gate 3 to find the pegs here last week and once in control packed too many guns to score a qualifying win. The gate makes it tricky yet he can still throw down a challenge.

SELECTIONS: CODE BAILEY (3), LIVING AGAIN (1), LIKEALLOFUS (8), ROCK WITH SAM (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-8-9

RACE SIX

DARKERSHADEOFPALE (2)
had a good look for the front here last start but couldn’t get there when finishing best of the chasing pack behind the smart filly MAJOR OCCASION. That followed a solid effort in the Qld Oaks and from the gate she can look for the pegs and dictate.

NOVENA ROSE (1) has been in the top 2 at her past 5 in succession and lands the perfect alley to suit her pattern of swooping home hard. Last start at Marburg she came with a powerful sprint to arrive for the win and despite this being harder, the gate is a big plus.

ARCACHON (6) was flashing home late in an eye-catcher 2 starts back to get within 1m of the in-form LILAC FLASH. Forget she went around last week after striking trouble, she can place here.

DOLLY BRAVEHEART (11) has no luxury from this gate and will need to do some work at some stage to work into it. Beaten a nose last week after trying to lead throughout, she won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: DARKERSHADEOFPALE (2), NOVENA ROSE (1), ARCACHON (6), DOLLY BRAVEHEART (11)
SUGGESTED BET: DARKERSHADEOFPALE (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

MUSCLE FACTORY (7) brutalised his opponents in the heat last week when sizzling home a sub 27 panel from the front, a sectional unheard of for the 2YO’s at AP. Given plenty of time to balance up before being sent forward it was a procession once he found the front. Hard to see anything turning the tables.

FOR ALL WE KNOW (2) was sent straight to the front from gate 3 in her heat and once in control was never in danger when scoring by 9m. Only a neck from the winner SMART AS CAMM BE in the Triad final 2 starts back, she is a quality filly and will be trying to reel in the leader.

TIMELESS APPEAL (9) finished best of the chasing pack last start behind the big winner MUSCLE FACTORY. Again best of the chasing pack when 3rd in the Triad, she can get the right run through in the early stages and look for a podium finish.

MAYWYN NO REGRETS (5) has been runner-up at her past 2 starts including a 2nd from the pocket trail here last week. From the gate she might just struggle to find position but fitter from the heat after returning from a break, she can podium.

SELECTIONS: MUSCLE FACTORY (7), FOR ALL WE KNOW (2), TIMELESS APPEAL (9), MAYWYN NO REGRETS (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

SPRINGBANK EDEN (7) returned from a let-up the best way possible when storming home from back in the pack to go straight past his opponents and post a 13m winning margin. His run from the mobile here 3 starts back was a strong effort when only 6m from OUR OVERANOVA. He gets every chance.

SPUD (8) is the form square gaiter in Qld and scored in good style last start over this trip. That followed successive wins including a superb run to claim the Trotters Marathon and despite starting to go through the grades, he looks mighty hard to stop once again.

MR MAYFLY (5) will be close to a fitness peak now that he has started 4 times since resuming from a break. He was doing some nice work late last time out and from 10m can throw down a challenge.

JETER (2) did his share of work at Redcliffe 2 starts back from the mobile and fought to the line when 3rd to MISTER OZ. His latest start had merit when 5m from the winner and he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: SPRINGBANK EDEN (7), SPUD (8), MR MAYFLY (5), JETER (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SPRINGBANK EDEN (7) to win

RACE NINE

OHOKA PUNTER (7)
has the tough alley but will take further benefit from his latest outing when doing the hard yards in the breeze and finishing within 3m of the winner GLENFERRIE HOOD. His Sunshine Sprint run was solid when 3rd to TACT TATE and he looks ready to capitalise.

GLENFERRIE HOOD (6) found the front off gate 4 last start before releasing and then finishing over the top of them in the stretch. A passing lane winner 4 runs back in the Wondai’s Mate, the wider gate dents his chances but he can still make an impact.

ALLELUIA (5) was flying home in the closing stages last week and was beaten 2m behind GLENFERRIE HOOD. He is racing in great touch and with even luck in transit can be steaming home again to place.

HOLY CAMP CLIVE (1) went agonisingly close to victory here last week when going under a nose. That followed a tough run when only 2m from MAKO BANNER. From the gate he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: OHOKA PUNTER (7), GLENFERRIE HOOD (6), ALLELUIA (5), HOLY CAMP CLIVE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: OHOKA PUNTER (7) to win

RACE TEN

SLICE OF HEAVEN (6)
had been taking on some strong races through the carnival and applying himself well without cashing-in. Well placed last start he blasted his rivals with a power running display including a sizzling 56.4 closing 800m around the triangle. He looks too good again here.

WHISKEY BLAZE (3) showed more early dash last start when having a look from gate 4 over the mile and stuck on to claim the bronze behind ROCK WITH SAM. Top 3 at his past 7 in succession that has included 2 wins, he will be right in the mix again here.

ALPHA STYX (8) can avoid a pocket by getting away from the pegs early as the sole 2nd line runner. Looking to go all the way last week, he was claimed by the passing lane winner OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE. He can feature.

MUSCLE MACH (5) found the line nicely here 3 starts back to score. Lasts start from the running line he was mid-field behind ROCK WITH SAM and has some claims in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: SLICE OF HEAVEN (6), WHISKEY BLAZE (3), ALPHA STYX (8), MUSCLE MACH (5)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 6 / 3-5-8

RACE ELEVEN

ESCALERA (7)
will look to keep his Aus unbeaten record in place as he looks for 3 on the run. Pressing forward from gate 7 last start he did plenty of work in the early stages to find the breeze and then forge clear to a 7m victory. He looks a smart operator.

THE MONEY BALL (1) settled well back in the pace last start and charged home in the closing stages to arrive for the win. That was his 1st run back from a let-up and with the benefit of added fitness and the ace gate he can be thereabouts.

MY ULTIMATE ROMEO (4) rolled around them from the 2nd line last start to find the front and went down fighting. That followed a big 19m win and he looms as a big threat.

ALI DOWNUNDER (6) has won 2 of his 4 starts with both coming from 2nd line barriers. He found the line nicely to score last start at Redcliffe and will be charging late here.

SELECTIONS: ESCALERA (7), THE MONEY BALL (1), MY ULTIMATE ROMEO (4), ALI DOWNUNDER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ESCALERA (7) to win
