RACE TWO

NONE BETTOR (2) is in consistent form and last start added another placing to his tally when finishing 3m from the winner after locked in the pocket trail. His win 2 starts back was a solid effort when pressing on to the front from gate 4 and laying down the challenge here can be too strong.

RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (1) has been waiting to land a marble over the short trip and he gets the conditions right here. 3 starts back he crossed to the pegs from the 7-hole before opting for cover and finishing 5m from NONE BETTOR. With the ace gate he will be right in the fight.

ALPHA STYX (8) will be glued to the back of the rocket and hoping he looks to go all the way. With that scenario he will be poised and ready to take the snipers shot up the passing lane.

UNTITLED (10) started fav last start and was cutting the breeze over the 2138m when 3m from the 100-1 winner CORPORAL LUNA. Given time to balance up he can track home strongly.

SELECTIONS: NONE BETTOR (2), RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (1), ALPHA STYX (8), UNTITLED (10)
SUGGESTED BET: NONE BETTOR (2) to win

RACE THREE

OUR CHITTYBANGBANG (3) finished strongly to win here from gate 12 4 starts back and followed that up with a 3rd at Redcliffe. Here on Tues he did the hard yards when cutting the breeze and dug in for the fight in a 55.2 closing half. He can apply the heat and will be fighting this out.

SIR JULIAN (2) finally lands a gate after being no closer than gate 6 at his past 6 outings. Placed at his past 3 starts he has been attacking the line strongly in each and never been further than 3m from the winner. Landing position from this gate he will be ready to swoop over the top.

MR MEDDLE (1) found the pegs before releasing last start and from the trail was 6m from the winner. Forget his run 2 back when striking trouble, he can issue a challenge from this alley.

VETTEL (4) pressed on to find the pegs here 2 starts back and was able to control it from the front to score. He might be forced to do some work from this gate and place chances look best.

SELECTIONS: OUR CHITTYBANGBANG (3), SIR JULIAN (2), MR MEDDLE (1), VETTEL (4)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR CHITTYBANGBANG (3) to win

RACE FOUR

A GOOD CHANCE (7)
has the wide gate to but finds a small field in a suitable line-up. A winner from the breeze here 4 runs back after circling early from the 2nd line, he has met some handy types at his next 3 starts. In a race where many are searching for form he can throw down the challenge.

LUCKY VOODOO (1) worked in the run last start and dug in gamely to be 5m from the winner IZZY WATT. Buried away from an inside 2nd line gate 2 back he lands the gate to look to capitalise and will be hopping to turn around a 16 month winless streak.

BRING ON LEFTY (2) is slowly starting to put it together after struggling to recapture his best in recent starts. Only 3m from the winner 2 back he hit the line nicely last time out. He is in the mix.

BET IM SPECIAL (8) went back from gate 6 last start and was then hitting the line in good order behind the smart 3YO CODE BAILEY, Buried away 2 starts back he will be probing for an opening.

SELECTIONS: A GOOD CHANCE (7), LUCKY VOODOO (1), BRING ON LEFTY (2), BET IM SPECIAL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: A GOOD CHANCE (7) to win

RACE FIVE

LUVUMUM (11) was snagged back from gate 6 last start and was hitting the line in good order over the 2138m. Only 1m from the handy IMA MYSTERY GIRL 2 starts back, she finds a race where the front-line does not look overly strong and she can power over the top to score.

GRINVIL (12) settled in thee 1x1 here on Tues when holding on for the bronze behind SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE. That followed an all-the-way win from gate 1 when controlling it in front over the mile. In nice touch if she can secure a trail home she is right in the fight.

MONKSEATON (1) lands the good alley after facing some wide gates in recent starts. From gate 7 last week she went back and from well back hit the line in good order. The gate is a big plus.

GLENFERRIE BABY (10) rolled forward from gate 4 to take control here last week and keeping the speed on all the way was able to land a career best win rate. The 2nd line hurts but she can still feature.

SELECTIONS: LUVUMUM (11), GRINVIL (12), MONKSEATON (1), GLENFERRIE BABY (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-10-11-12

RACE SIX

ZARAS DELIGHT (4)
settled in the pocket trail last start and once finding open space finished best to land a 5m victory. That was her 1st start in a month and taking benefit from that she will appreciate facing off against her own sex here and can look to roll forward and out-tough them.

MAJOR OCCASION (8) will need her share of luck as she looks in danger of being buried in the run. Her Oaks run was a huge effort and she franked that with a dominant win in a mares qualifier. Tough in the breeze outside CODE BAILEY last start, she just needs some luck to challenge in this.

JANUARY (6) started off the 2nd line last start and from back in the pack may have been closer than the 1m 2nd if her passage was clearer. With a strong closing sprint, look for her swooping hard.

SWEET AS CANDY (3) tried to take them all the way at Newcastle last start and was only gunned down in the closing stages over the 2030m. She can look for the pegs here and be gripping on.

SELECTIONS: ZARAS DELIGHT (4), MAJOR OCCASION (8), JANUARY (6), SWEET AS CANDY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ZARAS DELIGHT (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

WITHALOTOFLUCK (6) settled in the running line from gate 5 here last week in a much stronger M0 event and with a solid tempo was able to finish over the top to score an impressive win. Beaten by the tempo at his previous 2, there looks to be a solid clip here and he can repeat last week.

CODE BAILEY (7) pressed forward to the breeze here last week and was able to fight them off to score a narrow victory. That made it wins in 3 of his past 4 and despite the wide gate he will be going forward to lay down the challenge. He will need to dig deep this week but won’t shirk the task.

JESTER OH JESTER (1) has found himself back in the pack in recent starts and been forced to chase home from a long way back. Approaching 12 months without a win, he can be much sharper from this alley.

OUR WALL STREET WOLF (8) will have the options to get off the pegs early if need be. His run 2 starts back was luckless when probing for an opening and he can be finishing hard in this.

SELECTIONS: WITHALOTOFLUCK (6), CODE BAILEY (7), JESTER OH JESTER (1), OUR WALL STREET WOLF (8)
SUGGESTED BET: WITHALOTOFLUCK (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

SPRINGBANK EDEN (8)
worked forward to the breeze from this impost last week over the longer 2647m trip and went down fighting when 9m from the winner SOUTHERN ALPS. He attacked the line strongly here 2 starts back to score over this trip and with the right run can take this.

SPUD (11) was hitting the line strongly here last week and just fell short as he was looking to make it 4 successive wins. He was off a 20m tape last week and from the same mark will be working home hard in this.

SENITAS SUCCESS (5) settled with running line cover last week and held on for the bronze behind SOUTHERN ALPS. Buried in the run 2 back he may have been closer with a clearer passage and back to the 2138m will give this a shake.

JUSTABITNOISY (7) was tracking home wide out here on Tues under mobile conditions and found the line in good order. The 10m and the middle distance are in his favour and he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: SPRINGBANK EDEN (8), SPUD (11), SENITAS SUCCESS (5), JUSTABITNOISY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SPRINGBANK EDEN (8) to win

RACE NINE

OHOKA PUNTER (4) settled 1x1 here last week and with the tempo being set from the front by GLENFERRIE HOOD, held his ground to the line. He sat outside the same winner 2 runs back in a strong 2138m trip and with the gate advantage this time can look to make the most of it.

GLENFERRIE HOOD (5) shoots for the hat-trick and is relishing the carnival’s conclusion and reclaiming his mantle of the form FFA’er in the state. Sent to the front from gate 4 last week he was too strong in a 55.1 last half and had them chasing. Tactics will be all-important this week.

WATCH PULP FICTION (3) was hitting the line hard here last start over the 2138m and was able to get within a half-head of GLENFERRIE HOOD. With the right cover he will be steaming home again.

SELECTIONS: OHOKA PUNTER (4), GLENFERRIE HOOD (5), WATCH PULP FICTION (3),
SUGGESTED BET: OHOKA PUNTER (4) to win

RACE TEN

DEADLY ROCKER (3)
started from the 2nd line in his heat and was wide off the track for a long way in a tidy effort to be 8m from the winner NOVENA ROSE. Last start at Redcliffe he was wide off the track for the opening lap under heavy driving to find the breeze and fought gamely to go under by 2m. From the improved gate he gets his chance.

NOVENA ROSE (2) has found some rhythm and been top 2 in 7 of her past 8 outings, including a strong heat win of this series. Starting from outside the 2nd line she finished strongly to arrive for a 5m victory in good style. Settling handy, she looms as a big threat.

SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (1) took out his heat from the pocket trail when finishing over the top to score a nice win. Only going under a neck last start behind GLENFERRIE BABY, he will be coiled and ready to strike.

TRAVELNFAST (11) settled with running line cover when a 5m 2nd to NOVENA ROSE in the heats and followed that with a tidy effort in stronger company last start. With even luck she can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: DEADLY ROCKER (3), NOVENA ROSE (2), SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (1), TRAVELNFAST (11)
SUGGESTED BET: DEADLY ROCKER (3) to win
