Form Analysis: Redcliffe Aug 30

RACE ONE

MUCH BETTOR (2)
makes his Aus debut for Ian Gurney and arrives a last start NZ winner at just his 2nd career start. He defeated the smart ESCALERA in that event who has since gone undefeated in 3 starts at AP. With a nice trial effort back on Jul 18 his last appearance, he can make a winning debut.

MAYWYN TOUGH (5) resumes from a spell and has changed stables since his 1st prep that returned a win and 2 placings from 2 outings. Last start in the Paleface Adios when trying to take them all the way and only 2m from the winner MISS MONEYBAGS, he will ask the questions in this.

AT RANDOM (4) was impressive on debut at AP and charged home strongly after being shuffled back along the pegs. With the added experience and can be charging again.

REGALIA (3) didn’t do anything wrong in debut and then when 2nd up was able to finish over the top of them via the passing lane. With the win confidence and experience he has claims.

SELECTIONS: MUCH BETTOR (2), MAYWYN TOUGH (5), AT RANDOM (4), REGALIA (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MUCH BETTOR (2) to win

RACE TWO

ZED EXPRESS (1) started a short priced fav last start from gate 2 and looked to have them covered when trying to lead all the way he was run-down in the closing stages. That followed a tidy 3rd from the 2nd line and in this line-up with the speed to lead he gets every chance.

ARCH EMPRESS (6) is on the short back-up from Wed night as she looks for one last 3YO victory. She was runner-up here 3 starts back from the pocket trail and going within a head of the winner JUST JOSHIN. Despite the gate if she backs-up she can challenge.

KIWI SOLDIER (2) will appreciate moving to the front line here and with good early speed can take an early shot. His run 3 starts back when resuming was a nice effort and if up to that can go close.

LIVING FREE (5) has a tricky alley but does have good early speed which will help her find position. A Marburg winner 3 starts back she can chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: ZED EXPRESS (1), ARCH EMPRESS (6), KIWI SOLDIER (2), LIVING FREE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ZED EXPRESS (1) to win

RACE THREE

WERELIVINGTHEDREAM (2) struck trouble last start before being sent forward and doing her share of work in the run. A winner at AP 5 starts back when taking them all the way from gate 2, she went within a head of victory at her next start. From the gate she gets her chance.

JUST ROKIN (6) is racing well in this company without having the greatest of luck. Her run 2 back behind COREY WILLIAM was a tidy effort and she followed that with a nice effort wen making up plenty of ground in the closing stages. Despite the gate she can be in the mix.

TAP IT IN (4) has been freshened since his last run when working hard throughout and sticking on gamely. Only 6m from the winner 2 back from gate 5, he can issue a challenge in this.

WAVEDANCER (8) finished over the top of them here 3 starts back when saved for the last shot. He has been forced to overcome gate 6 at his past 2 and with an early trail through has place claims.

SELECTIONS: WERELIVINGTHEDREAM (2), JUST ROKIN (6), TAP IT IN (4), WAVEDANCER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-4-6-8

RACE FOUR

MODERN THOUGHT (1) was away from the pegs early last start and worked around to the breeze. Digging in she finished best of chasing pack behind the clear away winner BUKTHSYSTEM. With good early speed she can look to fire the first shot and controlling the tempo gets every chance.

THE FORMULA ONE (8) started fav from this alley last start an was trying to work into the contest in the closing stages but couldn’t get to the leader who got home in 28.8. His run 3 starts back from gate 4 was a tidy effort behind LITTLE CHANGE and with even luck can throw down the challenge.

JOHNNYCAKE (3) has started 3 times since returning from a spell and should be close to full fitness.  Too far back in an AP race on Sat night, he was luckless when looking for space 2 back. From the gate he can challenge.

ONE LAST ROLL (9) returned a tidy effort last start considering the circumstances when wide for a long was from gate 10. With better luck in transit he won’t be far from the action.

SELECTIONS: MODERN THOUGHT (1), THE FORMULA ONE (8), JOHNNYCAKE (3), ONE LAST ROLL (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MODERN THOUGHT (1) to win

RACE FIVE

FORTES IN FIDES (7) is on the short back-up from Tues where he looked a live chance. He lines up here aiming to grab one last 3YO race for the season and has found his form in recent starts. A winner here 2 back when pressing forward to take control he has the benefit of being the lone 2nd line runner and can give this a shake.
HUNTER RED (5) makes his Qld debut for Graham Dwyer and will be 1st up since July 1 at Manawatu in NZ. A winner of 1 from 26 in his homeland, he has been racing over the longer distances and comes into this without a local trial. He stays under notice.
WILLSINTOWN (1) is on the short back-up after contesting the rescheduled 3YO sales final last night. With good early speed he can look to fire the 1st shot here and if he can handle the back-up can go mighty close.
FEEL THE CHARM (4) returns from a spell and has trialled in good order for her return. With just the 5 career starts, she was an all the way winner here when 2nd up and she can feature here.

SELECTIONS: FORTES IN FIDES (7), HUNTER RED (5), WILLSINTOWN (1), FEEL THE CHARM (4)
SUGGESTED BET: FORTES IN FIDES (7) to win

SUGGESTED BET: FORTES IN FIDES (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (7) took on a stronger contest last time from gate 7 at AP and was hitting the line hard in the closing stages to be 7m from the winner MONIVAE which followed a passing lane 3rd to the smart IDES OF MARCH. He will need plenty of luck but can be flashing late.

SHADOW PASS (10) was the benefit of a gun drive last start when circling late from gate 12 he was able to sneak in behind the leader FRANCO TOTEM for a breather at the 300m and then outgun him in the lane. That followed a 3rd where he did plenty of early work. He is a big threat here.

BLAZING V C (1) has started from the 2nd line at his past 2 starts and 3 back was from gate 7 at AP when taken back early and never in the contest. With the options he can be an improver.

IM FREE FALLING (8) didn’t have the cleanest run or the best of luck last start when striking trouble. That followed a handy 2nd behind THE GUN ROCKSTAR and with even luck is an exotic hope here.

SELECTIONS: RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (7), SHADOW PASS (10), BLAZING V C (1), IM FREE FALLING (8)
SUGGESTED BET: RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (7) each-way

RACE EIGHT

OLIVER WINKLE (5) was wide in the run last start from gate 10 and did well to fight on to claim the bronze behind THE NEXT STAR. His previous runs had been in much stronger company and despite the wide gate he can look to press forward and ask the questions.

FRANKS FORTUNE (1) was a winner here 3 starts back when dropping to the pocket trail from gate 2 and finishing best along the passing lane. He hit the line strongly from gate 5 here 2 starts back and with the benefit of the ace has the options to go very close.

MINI MIRACLE (7) will be sweating on the 1 looking for an all the way performance and if that scenario eventuates, she will be primed and ready for the passing lane. A tidy winner here 3 starts back, forget her last start when striking trouble.

UNASSUMING CHAMP (10) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins when able to lead them up here over the 1780m on each occasion.  He will have to chase here, but is in great touch and can’t be dismissed.

SELECTIONS: OLIVER WINKLE (5), FRANKS FORTUNE (1), MINI MIRACLE (7), UNASSUMING CHAMP (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1-5-7-10
