RACE TWO

An all the way winner here 3 starts back when proving too strong over the mile, THATSWHATISAID (1) has been thwarted by the barrier at his past 2 when buried 3 back against the pegs on each occasion from inside 2nd line gates. Probing without luck last start, he can dictate terms here.

LETSCATCHMEIFUCAN (6) has been attacking the line strongly at each of his 4 outings here at The Creek, the luck just wasn’t with him. Securing a 3-wide ride home, the horse he was following stalled and losing momentum, he then attacked the line hard to get within a head. He can go close in this.

VASARI (8) was a beaten fav here 2 starts back when he was never in the contest after floating back in the early stages. Making amends at Redcliffe last start, he will need to hustle to protect his spot.

MAYWYNS COURAGE (9) led them up last start over the 2138m trip and after a steady opening 800m of the last mile, ramped the tempo and was only grabbed late up the passing lane. Goes close.

SELECTIONS: THATSWHATISAID (1), LETSCATCHMEIFUCAN (6), VASARI (8), MAYWYNS COURAGE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: THATSWHATISAID (1) to win

RACE THREE

WRITE ABOUT LEXY (2) wasn’t suited from gate 7 in the SE Oaks when snagging back and then praying for luck. Following that with a 3rd in the Qld Oaks from gate 1 behind OUR PRINCESS TIFFANY, the task was too great last time in an electric mile. Back to mares only she gets a chance.

RENEE DALE (1) will strip fitter from her latest start when resuming from a break and stepping out for Kylie Rasmussen for the 1st time. Snagged back early from gate 6 she was sound in the closing stages despite getting no reward. With good early speed she will have the options.

KINETIC KATE (9) is not far off opening her Qld account, running some eye-catching races in recent starts. Charging home last start from a long way back, she was only 4m away and will be swooping.

ARCACHON (4) was locked away on the pegs here 2 starts back and didn’t get a full shot when 5m from the winner. Again, locked away from inside the 2nd line last start, the front line is a big plus.

SELECTIONS: WRITE ABOUT LEXY (2), RENEE DALE (1), KINETIC KATE (9), ARCACHON (4)
SUGGESTED BET: WRITE ABOUT LEXY (2) to win

RACE FOUR

ELLE YEAH (8)
was forced to race tough over the 2138m here 2 starts back when facing the breeze and was game to the line in a sizzling closing 800m sprint with TOM ME GUN dictating in front. Back to mares company last start she put them away in stylish fashion from gate 7 and can repeat here.

AQUA MISS (1) settled back in the pack from gate 5 at Redcliffe last start and charged home strongly wide of the track to arrive on the line for a smart win. Slammed with gate 12 in the 4YO Championship the start prior, she found the line nicely behind BILL HALEY. The gate is a big plus.

ROCKNROLL EMMA (6) bounced back to the winner circle here on Tues when using the passing lane to claim the prize. That followed a run of tough gates and back to mares only she is in the fight.

COMIGAL (3) was game last start, cutting the breeze and proving too strong to fight them off ad kick back to score after a solid last 400m over the 2138m trip. She won’t be far away in this.

SELECTIONS: ELLE YEAH (8), AQUA MISS (1), ROCKNROLL EMMA (6), COMIGAL (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ELLE YEAH (8) to win

RACE FIVE

ARGYLE BEACH (2)
returns to Qld after a 4 start Menangle campaign that netted victory in a new career benchmark 1.52.1 mile at her 2nd run. Taking on a 2300m event 2 starts ago, she was snagged back from gate 8 before attacking the line strongly to get within 2m of victory. Sitting off the speed she can charge home here.

CHANTREY (3) chased home in a small field last start to be within 2m of the winner LEOS BEST. Forced to roll the sleeves over the mile here 2 starts back, he faded in the closing stages after an early burn looking for the front. He can get to the pegs and if able to pinch a panel will take catching.

MARETTI (1) wasn’t suited last start when rolling to the breeze from gate 6 over the middle distance and after the tough trip faded late. A passing lane 2nd over this trip starts back, he can look to repeat.

THE SHADY ONE (8) is still looking to get out into space from his race here on Tues where circumstances just worked against him. Saved for a closing shot, look for him swooping in space.

SELECTIONS: ARGYLE BEACH (2), CHANTREY (3), MARETTI (1), THE SHADY ONE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ARGYLE BEACH (2) to win

RACE SIX

MATTGREGOR (6) will strip fitter following his return to the track here last time out when it didn’t pan out after being positioned too far back as the front-markers kicked clear with nothing from the rear making ground. Back to the mile is a plus and he can look to press ahead to apply the acid early.

TENNYSON BROMAC (1) worked forward from gate 7 over the sprint trip here last start and in for the fight packed too many guns to score a 1.5m victory. He found the line in good order the start prior behind BILL HALEY in the 4YO Championship and from the gate will get the options.

SLICE OF HEAVEN (5) had no luck in the sizzling mile claimed by JOSSIE JAMES 2 starts back when buried in the run. Last start at Redcliffe he just needed space sooner when closing out well. He can challenge in this.

TULHURST ACE (7) has the tough gate to negotiate, yet given a quiet time early might just be the fresh legs late to capitalise if the speed is too hot. Tough from the breeze last start, he can bob up.

SELECTIONS: MATTGREGOR (6), TENNYSON BROMAC (1), SLICE OF HEAVEN (5), TULHURST ACE (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

This week’s FFA has only captured a small field and from the gate it looks to give WATCH PULP FICTION (1) his chance to break back into winning form. His last win came over this trip when able to lead all the way from this same gate. Only 4m from OHOKA PUNTER in the Sunshine Sprint 2 starts back, he loomed strongly in the BLACKS A FAKE. This looks ideal.

MAJOR CAM (4) caught the eye at his return to the track last start when 1st up from 18 months on the sidelines. Given 3 trials to get some fitness in the tank and runs in the legs, he was really finding the line strongly in the closing stages, running the quickest closing splits across the entire card. He will be in the mix and only improve further from the run.

ALLELUIA (2) had the perfect trip on the back of MACH ALERT over the sprint trip last week, but was always going to be facing a task to run him down when allowed to pinch a 31 sec 2nd panel. He can dart in behind here and be taking the closing shot.

SELECTIONS: WATCH PULP FICTION (1), MAJOR CAM (4), ALLELUIA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: WATCH PULP FICTION (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

MY ULTIMATE BONDI (1) is on the back-up from Thursday where he looked well-placed to capitalise. A real eye-catcher at his Qld debut when making an error and looking to have lost all chance, he was able to reset and chase hard to only be 3m in arrears of the winner. With good speed he can dictate.

MISTERY ROAD (6)
has placed at his past 4 starts and every run has been full of merit, the latest 3rd coming in the Triad Final when running some smart closing sectionals in chasing down the winner EXPENSIVE EGO. Game in defeat when 2m away 2 starts back, he will throw down the challenge.

MY ULTIMATE STAR (5) was shooting for a hat-trick last start after Redcliffe and Albion Park wins. Taking on the older horses, it was a smart effort when 2m from the winner ARK ME. He can feature.

BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (7) beat herself last start when returning from a break and 1st up since a stable switch. Causing a false start, she was full of fizz and her race was over before the 2nd attempt at the start. If she can get things right early, she will make it interesting.

SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE BONDI (1), MISTERY ROAD (6), MY ULTIMATE STAR (5), BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

SOUTHERN ALPS (4) is a smart beginner when he gets it right and from a front-line gate over the 2138m trip will get his chance to show his manners and take control. 3rd here on Tues from a 20m tape and chasing, he took them all the way from 10m here 4 starts back. He looks well-in here.

EMPIRE BAY (8) has been attacking the line with venom at his past 2 starts, just falling short on each occasion. Last week he was charging home and went within a head of the prize behind OUR OVERANOVA. 3rd in the Trotters Marathon, the 30m is of some concern, but look for him swooping.

JUSTABITNOISY (6) scored in the Trotters Marathon here 2 starts back when making full use of the passing lane to arrive. Forced to do it tough in the breeze last start, he can bounce back here.

HELLBOUND (3) stepped cleanly before taking cover on OUR OVERANOVA last start and chased hard to grab the bronze. Still yet to breakthrough from the tapes after 26 attempts, he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: SOUTHERN ALPS (4), EMPIRE BAY (8), JUSTABITNOISY (6), HELLBOUND (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SOUTHERN ALPS (4) to win
