RACE TWO

LAVROS TEXAS (6) started from a 30m tape last start when pressing on to find the front over the long 2647m trip and once in control never really looked in danger when scoring by 3m. That was a class drop after meeting the better trotters. The small field under mobile conditions look ideal here.

HELLBOUND (4) loves the mobile and will relish getting back to his preferred start method. Placed in consecutive starts including a close neck 2nd to SOUTHERN ALPS, he has made errors in transit at his past 2. With good speed off the arm, he can settle forward here and will be in for the fight.

KYVALLEY TINMAN (3) will take great benefit from his latest start when 2nd up from a spell and since arriving in Qld. Stepping cleanly, he went straight to the front from the 10m and was never headed. If he can hustle to find the pegs, he will give them something to chase.

Of the remainder, GREG THE GREAT (5) can certainly measure up here if near his best, but he is a tough one to nail down.

SELECTIONS: LAVROS TEXAS (6), HELLBOUND (4), KYVALLEY TINMAN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Box Trifecta 3-4-6

RACE THREE

After facing some tough gates at her past 2 starts, the small field and improved alley can see ZARAS ALL GOOD (2) put a case forward for her 2nd career victory. From gate 7 last time out, she worked home in good order wide out to be 5m from the winner. Taking control here, she can look to dictate.

MISS BLUE GLORY (5) made an error last start which proved costly and saw her chances go down the drain. Fading out as the fav 2 starts back when facing the breeze over the 2138m trip, if she can limit the workload in this, a forward showing can be expected.

MAJOR SLIP UP (6) claimed the Redcliffe Derby 2 starts back when working to the front over the 2200m and once in control, holding to score by a narrow margin. Gunned down after setting a solid tempo last start, he can challenge in this.

SELECTIONS: ZARAS ALL GOOD (2), MISS BLUE GLORY (5), MAJOR SLIP UP (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ZARAS ALL GOOD (2) to win

RACE FOUR

TORQUE FEELS GOOD (2)
was after a hat-trick last start when landing gate 6 over the mile. Sliding back to find position, she settled back in the pack before hitting the line in good style when 9m from the winner TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE. With the option for a cheap run in the small field, she can arrive.

SLIPPERY JADE (3) was driven hard to secure the pocket trail last start in a mares qualifier and then looking to have something to offer lost all momentum when the leader hoisted the white flag before the home turn. If able to find some early cover, then she looms as a huge threat.

REGAL NIGHTSHADE (1) wasn’t suited from gate 5 last start when forced to retreat and was just too far back. Grabbed in the closing stages at each of his past 2, including over this trip when looking to go all the way, he will be gripping on here.

SELECTIONS: TORQUE FEELS GOOD (2), SLIPPERY JADE (3), REGAL NIGHTSHADE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE FEELS GOOD (2) to win

RACE FIVE

STAR OF MONTANA (10) didn’t have much luck in the run over the mile here 2 starts back and could have finished closer than the 6m margin if seeing space when needed. Last start from gate 1 he took the trail and when the passing lane presented, sprinted sharply to score. He can overcome the gate.

FIRE AND ICE (2) found the pocket trail from gate 4 here over the 2138m trip 5 starts back when finishing best to score in a sharp closing 800m. Following that with a good effort when 2m from CARDLESFROMHEAVEN, he has good early speed and with the good alley can feature.

BEEF CITY BLAZE (1) took the pocket trail here 2 stars back from the same alley when finishing a half-neck from WRITE ABOUT LEXY. With the benefit of a cosy trip he can be in the money again here.

TIN ROOF RAIDER (7) should take benefit from his 1st Qld appearance when proving too strong in front when leading throughout from gate 4. The gate makes it tricky, but with even luck he can chime in, while THREE MUGS IN (3) stays under notice from the gate after a stable switch.

SELECTIONS: STAR OF MONTANA (10), FIRE AND ICE (2), BEEF CITY BLAZE (1), TIN ROOF RAIDER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: STAR OF MONTANA (10) to win

RACE SIX

Once again the claimer throws up an open contest where I’m leaning to WATTLEBANK FLYER (10) who was charging home last start over this trip. Snagged back from gate 6 to find the pegs, he was attacking the line to be within 1.5m of the winner. Only a half-head away 3 starts back, he can arrive.

CASINO TOMMY (7) completed the claiming hat-trick last start when pressing on to take control and leading throughout over the 2138m. Too tough in the breeze from this same gate the start prior over the mile, he has the tough gate to overcome but its hard to fault winning form in claiming grade.

COMPLY OR DIE (8) will be requiring a slice of luck at some point from this alley. Buried in the run here last start, he was sound to the line behind CASINO TOMMY and will be probing for the gaps.

TOPNOTCH MACH (2) steps back to claiming company and from the gate can look to fire the early bullets. He took them all the way at Redcliffe 3 starts back and can fill the exotics in this.

SELECTIONS: WATTLEBANK FLYER (10), CASINO TOMMY (7), COMPLY OR DIE (8), TOPNOTCH MACH (2)
SUGGESTED BET: WATTLEBANK FLYER (10) to win

RACE SEVEN

AQUA MISS (3) started fav last time out from gate 9 when holding on for the bronze behind STAR OF MONTANA over the 2138m. Buried from inside the 2nd line over the mile here 2 starts back, she was working home in good order and 3 back took on a strong mares race. This looks within reach.

CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (7) made the most of a good gate to pounce on the pegs over the mile and take them all the way in a strong mile, putting it out of reach through a 27.2 sec 3rd panel. He was charging home from gate 6 here 2 starts back when 2m in arrears and with even luck can swoop to victory.

RANDOM TASK (9) moved to the breeze from gate 4 over the Redcliffe sprint trip last start and digging in for the fight was a smart winner in strong time. Runner-up at 3 of his previous 4, he is in the mix.

PAY ME INTEREST (5) is crying out to win a race and last start was attacking the line strongly in the latter stages of a mares qualifier. Placed in 3 of her past 4, look for her sweeping home late.

SELECTIONS: AQUA MISS (3), CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (7), RANDOM TASK (9), PAY ME INTEREST (5)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 3-5-7-9

RACE EIGHT

MAJESTIC KIWI (5) made the most of conditions last start when sent straight to the front from gate 2 and dictating terms had 11m to spare on the line in setting a new career benchmark. Forget his run the start prior when working too hard in the run, if he can limit the burn, he can go back-to-back.

SOULWRITER (2) can be forgiven for her last start when retreating from gate 6 at Redcliffe with the tempo thereafter making it tough for anything trying to make ground from the back. Grabbed late the start prior when trying to wire them in a mares qualifier, she can take control here.

TORI MAY (1) found running line position back in the pack from gate 7 last time out and chased gamely for the silver behind MAJESTIC KIWI. With an economical trip on offer, she can chime in.

BROADWATER (9) ended a long winless streak at Redcliffe 2 starts back when taking them all the way from gate 1, running a sharp closing 800m. Buried 3 back last start, he can trail through to settle handy here.

SELECTIONS: MAJESTIC KIWI (5), SOULWRITER (2), TORI MAY (1), BROADWATER (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJESTIC KIWI (5) to win
