RACE TWO

In a race where many of these are looking to recapture some form and where it looks hard to pin one down, DATSGOOD (3) might just have found the right type of race. Fitter after returning from a spell last start where she faded in the closing stages. With a steadier tempo, this is within reach.

NICSTAR (8) worked home in good order from the running line last start to grab the bronze behind DOLLARBILL. His previous few starts had seen him trying to make ground from well back in the pack and settling handy to speed from this alley, look for him chiming in late.

NIKALONG HENRY (9) started fav last start when snagged back from gate 5 and was a long way back when trying to work into the contest. Only 9m from LINCOLNS GIRL the start prior, he can place.

FUI FUI (5) landed gate 6 last start when retreating off the arm to find the pegs and look for luck. Closing out in good order he was able to grab the bronze when 5m in arrears and has some hope.

SELECTIONS: DATSGOOD (3), NICSTAR (8), NIKALONG HENRY (9), FUI FUI (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

ONYAJANS (1) does her best work when kept to the pegs and saved for the closing shot and from this gate lands the perfect conditions to follow that pattern. Closing strongly last start to get within 2m of the winner, she was only 3m away the start prior. Coiled and ready to strike she can arrive.

EPIRUS BOY (3) couldn’t get across them early last start and raced in the 1x1 trail, then was unable to pick them up in the closing stages. A winner here 4 starts back when using the passing lane to arrive after releasing from gate 1, he can look to get across them early and will have the options.

MONUMENTAL (9) was after a hat-trick of victories last start when forced to settle with the silver when beaten a half-head The previous 2 wins came when closing late to arrive and he can go close.

MISTER HART (10) made an error last time yet was able to finish it off in good order to be 8m from the winner. Beaten a head here 4 starts back, he followed that when 3rd and has place hopes in this.

SELECTIONS: ONYAJANS (1), EPIRUS BOY (3), MONUMENTAL (9), MISTER HART (10)
SUGGESTED BET: ONYAJANS (1) to win

RACE FOUR

WHOSTOLEMYPIGEON (10)
will need to be working at some stage from the tough gate here, but with the ability to roll the sleeves, he can get around them to lay down the challenge. A tough winner in the breeze at AP 4 starts back, he followed that with the silver and can take this.

FORTES IN FIDES (1) was snagged back from gate 6 to look for luck for luck up the pegs but didn’t really get into the contest. His effort 2 runs back from the 2nd line was a tidy hit-out when claiming the bronze and with the options from the ace, finds the right type of assignment to capitalise.

BUKTHSYSTEM (8) worked home in good order from well back to finish mid-field last start behind SPORTS STORY. With the option to look for the cheap runs against the poles, he can chime in late.

ITSMEGS (4) found the pocket trail last start and was best of the chasing pack behind the big winner KISS CAM in a slick 1780m trip. With some speed inside, she might need to retreat but can swoop.

SELECTIONS: WHOSTOLEMYPIGEON (10), FORTES IN FIDES (1), BUKTHSYSTEM (8), ITSMEGS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: WHOSTOLEMYPIGEON (10) to win

RACE FIVE

ALSJEANSMAXSSTAR (2) lines up for career start number 4 after placing in all 3 starts thus far in his career. He didn’t get the cleanest passage last start when 3rd behind the smart winner KIT KATS CHAT and having shown good speed off the arm at his debut, tonight can be his night to shine.

BELLA BLONDIE (7) has returned from a spell in nice order with a win and a pair of 2nd placed finishes in 3 starts. Circling early from the 2nd line when 2nd up, she was too sharp in running home to a stylish win. Grabbed on the line last start when a red figure fav, she will be probing for gaps here.

VALIANT GEM (5) was away from the pegs early last start and sent to the breeze where he was able to pack too many guns and hold on for a half-neck victory. He might need to be tough again but has claims.

CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM (6) found KISS CAM too sharp last start and couldn’t get into the contest in the closing stages. 2nd to SPORTS STORY here 3 starts back, returning to 3YO only company is a plus.

SELECTIONS: ALSJEANSMAXSSTAR (2), BELLA BLONDIE (7), VALIANT GEM (5), CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ALSJEANSMAXSSTAR (2) to win

RACE SIX

MADAMOISELLE JUJON (8) resumes from a spell after missing a place for the 1st time in her career last time out in the Redcliffe 3YO sale Final claimed by REGULUS. Finishing a 6m 2nd in the heats behind HIPSTAR, she was only grabbed late in a much stronger race 3 starts back. If forward enough in condition, she looks hard to stop.

DALLAS COWGIRL (1) was snagged back to find a peg spot here last start from gate 3 and with the cosy trip chimed in late for the silver behind the subsequent Group winning 2YO MY ULTIMATE STAR. Not suited the start prior at Marburg, she will have the options here and can challenge.

REGALIA (5) has placed at his past 3 starts here on the triangle, the latest when beaten a head after doing some early work in the run. The gate doesn’t help here, but he can be thereabouts.

FRANCO NEVAEH (6) will take further benefit from his latest run now that he has had 3 runs back from a 3-year hiatus. He can press forward again and can be an exotic player from the tough gate.

SELECTIONS: MADAMOISELLE JUJON (8), DALLAS COWGIRL (1), REGALIA (5), FRANCO NEVAEH (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MADAMOISELLE JUJON / DALLAS COWGIRL (1/8) quinella

RACE SEVEN

BLACKJACK BART (1) will take good benefit and experience from his debut when sitting in the pocket trail and finishing 4m from the handy LORD DIGBY. A well-ed colt by Art Major, he will have the options from the good gate and looks to get his chance to open the win account in this.

MAYWYNS HONEY (9) looked to take them all the way last start from gate 1 and after leading deep into the stretch was grabbed late by BOPPIN THE BLUES. Too far back when on debut 2 runs back, she will take benefit from the latest start and be chiming in late here.

FOUR FOR FOUR (6) has the tough gate to overcome, yet she has been able to show steady improvement at each start. Her latest run had merit when grabbing 3rd and she can be thereabouts again.

DESTINY JANE (5) struck trouble in the run last start that ended her chances when mid-field behind BOPPIN THE BLUES. Despite the tough gate she has exotic hopes in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: BLACKJACK BART (1), MAYWYNS HONEY (9), FOUR FOR FOUR (6), DESTINY JANE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BLACKJACK BART (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

Building towards a win after finishing runner-up at her past 2 attempts, DAENERYS STORMBORN (8) looks to strike the right race and conditions to capitalise. Working home strongly here 2 starts back when beaten a half-head, her latest effort from the mobile was a tidy effort from gate 6. She can build on her smart Redcliffe record.

NORAHS FLING (5) was buried away in the run last start from the mobile after starting from gate 2 and never was a factor from back in the pack. A tough Marburg winner 3 starts back, her record here is not great, however back to the tapes against this field, she can be around the money.

THE REAPER (1) will take great benefit from his latest start when 2nd up from a spell and since arriving in Qld. Holding on for 3rd behind MONORAIL last start, he won’t be far away once again.

DAY TOURER (2) showed his customary brilliant start last time out to find the pegs before releasing the speed and holding on for the silver behind KYVALLEY TINMAN. His good starting manners put him right in the mix.

SELECTIONS: DAENERYS STORMBORN (8), NORAHS FLING (5), THE REAPER (1), DAY TOURER (2)
SUGGESTED BET:
