Colt Thirty One Back In Action

Exciting pacer Colt Thirty One made a triumphant return today (Tuesday).

The three-year-old stepped out in a public trial at Albion Park over the distance of 1660m and proved too strong for his rivals Somewhereovarainbow and Majordoit in a time of 1:58.8.

Sectionals were recorded in 29.7, 32.2, 28.2 and 28.9 seconds.

After starting from gate seven, the Grant Dixon trained and driven feature race winner worked forward early before parking without cover at the 1200m point.

The Mach Three – Charm Personified colt raced comfortably before extending nicely over the concluding stages before winning by a margin of 4.5 metres.

Colt Thirty One has not raced since finishing a terrific third in the Gr.1 $285,000 Australasian Breeders Crown Final behind Kiwi colt King Of Swing and Poster Boy at TABCORP Park, Melton on August 27.

The mile rate for the 2240m feature was 1:55.2.

During his rookie term, he won 7 of his 11 starts while amassing more than $118,000 in stakes.

His biggest victory came via the Gr.1 $100,000 QBRED Triad Final at Albion Park on July 15 in a stunning time of 1:53.9.

As a result, he was crowned the Queensland 2yo Pacer of the Year.

Raced by his breeders Kevin and Kay Seymour, Colt Thirty One is being aimed at several features throughout the season, both local and interstate.

Key targets include the Victoria and New South Wales Derby classic’s while the local features include the QBRED Triad plus the Queensland Derby amongst others.
