RACE TWO

JOSSIE JAMES (9) returned from a spell in fine fettle when swooping home strongly to claim a 13m victory at Redcliffe. Starting fav when 2nd up over the 2138m she was wide for a long way and could only manage a mid-field finish. Kept fresh she looks to have their measure in this.

BEAU CISHLOM (10) used the passing lane to score victory in a qualifier here 3 starts back when sprinting sharply when the gaps opened. Forget his next run when making an error with his latest effort having merit when trying to work home against the tempo. He will be in the mix.

FRANKS FORTUNE (1) used the passing lane to grab the bronze behind WHISKEY BLAZE here 2 starts back when only 5m away. Too far back last start, he can settle handy here and be ready to strike.

MISTER HART (8) was taken back from gate 7 last start and was always chasing thereafter in a slick mile set by MARK OF INTEGRITY. He will need some luck but can find the podium in this.

SELECTIONS: JOSSIE JAMES (9), BEAU CISHLOM (10), FRANKS FORTUNE (1), MISTER HART (8)
SUGGESTED BET: JOSSIE JAMES (9) to win

RACE THREE

MISTER OZ (9) was sent forward to the breeze from a 40m tape here 3 starts back and went down fighting when 2m from the winner. Buried away in the run last start he was weaving a passage when 12m from the winner REDRIVERDEBBA and moving to a 30m tape can take his chances.

LAVROS TEXAS (12) comes out of the DJA Series where he was able to place in the 2nd round heats when finding the line in good order to be 8m from MIRACLE RISING. Forget his run in the Final when striking trouble, he can look to make amends here and is in the mix despite the 40m tape.

REDRIVERDEBBA (11) was after a hat-trick of wins last start when sent forward early from the 30m tape and was forced to do some work in the run. From the 40m in this she can be thereabouts.
DIEU DE LAMOUR (13) finished 3rd behind MONARO MIA in a 2300m mobile at Menangle 3 starts back and then didn’t show his best in both DJA heats. With this an easier contest he has claims.

SELECTIONS: MISTER OZ (9), LAVROS TEXAS (12), REDRIVERDEBBA (11), DIEU DE LAMOUR (13)
SUGGESTED BET: MISTER OZ (9) to win

RACE FOUR

LETHAL PROMISE (2)
found the breeze easily at Redcliffe over the 1780m last start and from there was able to control the tempo and land a 2m victory. That followed a strong 3rd when sent forward from gate 6 and working hard fought on for 3rd. This looks to be right up his alley.

JOHNNYCAKE (1) has been trying to make ground from a long way back at his past 2 starts when the front runners have made it a huge task for anything chasing. He worked home well to grab the silver here 3 starts back behind FEEL THE CHARM and with the cosy trip can make the closing play.

CALL ME YOURS (8) found the line in good style here 3 starts back to finish 4th in a good quality mares race. Her run 2 back was a nice effort and from the gate can be looking for gaps to challenge.

ALWAYS AT NIGHT (3) wasn’t suited last start when caught wide trying to find position and ended up at the rear. He hit the line hard here 3 starts back when beaten a head and can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: LETHAL PROMISE (2), JOHNNYCAKE (1), CALL ME YOURS (8), ALWAYS AT NIGHT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: LETHAL PROMISE (2) to win

RACE FIVE

SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (6) has the tricky gate but should find this much easier than what he has been facing in recent starts. Run-down late by the ID contestant ITALIAN DELIGHT 3 starts back at Menangle he did his share of work last start behind MARK OF INTEGRITY. This looks his to take.

LYNNSANITY (1) sat back off a strong tempo at Redcliffe last start and came with a well-timed run to arrive for a career best win rate. With his best work normally when closer to the front, he lands conditions to suit here and from the gate will be in the thick of it.

NIKALONG HENRY (8) has claimed the bronze at his past 2 starts with the most recent from gate 1 when 3m from the winner COURAGEOUS LEO. With a cosy trip he will be probing for the gaps.

VALTONA (4) was snagged back from a wide gate last start and with a strong tempo set up front was too far back to challenge. She worked home in good order 2 starts back and has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (6), LYNNSANITY (1), NIKALONG HENRY (8), VALTONA (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (6) to win

RACE SIX

MORROCH BAY (2)
has been sparingly raced in his 4 start career and resumes without a public trial to prepare. Leading them up from gate 4 in a Gold Pot heat 2 starts back when returning from a 12 month break, he was grabbed late. Not suited in the final he can fire out and look to take control.

MACHITELLI (1) returns to start her 4YO season and has been primed with 3 visits to the trials to prepare. A last start winner during her 3YO season when sent forward from the 2nd line to the breeze and proving too strong, she has the options and can throw down a strong challenge.

MAJOR SEASCAPE (11) was sent forward from gate 7 last start over the 2138m trip and tried to take them all the way. Fading late to hold 3rd, he can be working home into the money here.

MONTANA EXPRESS (12) loomed up strongly here last start and looked poised to deliver until JUST DEAL IT who had a cosy trip behind the leader forger clear to win. Look for him swooping home.

SELECTIONS: MORROCH BAY (2), MACHITELLI (1), MAJOR SEASCAPE (11), MONTANA EXPRESS (12)
SUGGESTED BET: MORROCH BAY (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

CROWNING GLORY (2) made the most of gate 1 to take them all the way at Marburg last start and in the process would have gained plenty of confidence. His run 2 starts back was a tidy effort when stuck behind a tiring leader and still able to find a gap to grab 2nd. This looks well within reach.

ZALTA (10) sat in the pocket trail here last start over the mile and was charging hard when the gaps opened to get within a half-head of the winner MAKOA. His run the start prior was a tidy effort from the 2nd line and with even luck in transit can be running home strongly in this.

MACHIN OUT (9) took on a restricted contest over the 2138m last start and was sound to the line from well back in the pack after restraining from gate 6. With the right early trail he can place here.

HARD TO HEAR (6) has the tricky gate to negotiate but should find this easier than his past few assignments. Too far back last start if he can find position he will be charging home.

SELECTIONS: CROWNING GLORY (2), ZALTA (10), MACHIN OUT (9), HARD TO HEAR (6)
SUGGESTED BET: CROWNING GLORY (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

GOALKICKER (11)
has been in good touch of late and despite landing a tricky gate looks to bring some class to this contest. Strong from the front in taking them all the way over the 2138m here 2 starts back her closing sectionals were strong behind LISA LINCOLN last start and she can look to overcome the alley.

GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT (10) was buried in the run last start and once he saw clear air was finding the line strongly to grab the silver behind LISA LINCOLN. That followed a strong all the way effort over the mile to open his Qld account. With the right cart into the contest he can challenge.

CC JONES (2) rolled forward from gate 5 last start to face the breeze and fought in well to finish 2nd to INVITE ONLY. From the gate he will be handy to the action and has podium claims.

BLINGITTOTHEMAX (7) found his race last start and was able to find the lead with ease and take them all the way. With no favours from the gate he can be firing late if limiting the early burn.

SELECTIONS: GOALKICKER (11), GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT (10), CC JONES (2), BLINGITTOTHEMAX (7)
SUGGESTED BET: GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT (10) each-way
