Some of Queensland's leading participants have praised the condition of the new Eagle Farm track following the first gallops held there on Tuesday morning.

Horses from the leading Heathcote, Gollan, Anderson, Schweida and Forster yards conducted a series of gallops in the centre of the track between 6.30am and 7am.

The gallops were conducted as part of a staged return to racing at Queensland's premier track. The next step will be barrier trials on Tuesday 11 December 2018.

More to come.
