First two-year-old race of the season in Qld and the 5 of these have already seen each other at the trials
SPRINGFIELD DESIRE (3) is prepared by Graham Dwyer and is by Grinfromeartoear out of Flamingo Rose making him a half to the 1.55.3 winner Springfield Tattoo. His two trials have been tidy performances including a win up the passing lane.
THE MONEY BALL (4) is from the flying Steve Cini yard and led throughout in a recent trial victory. By champion sire Falcon Seelster, he is out of Seyah Tess, making him a half to the recent 1.51.8 winner WITHALOTOFLUCK. He should good natural improvement between trials.
Insufficient exposed form to determine.
RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (5) had been struggling for a gate and then found his race and from gate 5 over this trip jumped straight on the bunny and took them all the way. Since that win he has been no closer than gate 7. Back to the front he can look to take them all the way.
SWAROVSKI (7) will strip fitter following 1 run back from a break and despite a tough gate has some claims here. His effort when resuming at his 1st run back from a NSW preparation was good in a 2nd division qualifier and with the added fitness will be sharper.
SELECTIONS: RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (5), SWAROVSKI (7), GLOVEMAN GILLY (1), MILES ABOVE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (5) to win
MARETTI (1) is having a solid season with 6 top 3 finishes in 9 outings. 3 starts back he blitzed them from gate 7 with an aggressive drive and after finishing a head 3rd in a Rising Stars heat he made the most of an improved gate in the final to dominate them. From the gate he looks mighty hard to stop.
BUMPER (2) will take further benefit from his latest run which was his 2nd run back from a break. Pressing forward from gate 5 he received running line cover and worked home in good style when 6m from FIRE AN ICE. He can slide in behind the leader here and with that trip run the quinella.
SELECTIONS: MARETTI (1), BUMPER (2), JOSSIE JAMES (4), FIRE AND ICE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MARETTI (1) to win
PROFICIENT (7) has a tough gate to overcome here but strikes a wide open contest and is worth a throw at the stumps at some value. His effort 2 starts back when starting from the 2nd line had merit when 7m from SKYLARHAIN and on Sat worked in the run when beaten 3m behind the handy PLAYNSERIOUS at Marburg.
ROCKWITH THEDEVIL (2) was buried away on the pegs over the 1780m at Redcliffe 2 starts back and worked home in good order to grab 4th. Luckless last start at Redcliffe, he can take the early shot here for the pegs and look to take control.
SELECTIONS: PROFICIENT (7), ROCKWITH THEDEVIL (2), MISTA NATURAL (8), KYMS BOY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: PROFICIENT (7) each-way
BIO MARINUS (1) was working up to something after some solid performances including a 2m 3rd in a Claiming Challenge final. Finding his race he pressed forward from gate 4 to assume control and once in front held them off. From the gate he can get it easy early which will suit and go wire to wire.
GOTTA GLOW (9) was enormous here on Friday after missing the start and then racing wide from the 700m and still fighting to the line to be 3m from the winner. Her form in this grade has been strong and sent forward early to find the breeze here she will be staring then down.
SELECTIONS: BIO MARINUS (1), GOTTA GLOW (9), MOHEGAN SUN (6), COMPLY OR DIE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: BIO MARINUS/GOTTA GLOW (1/9) quinella
GOVINNI (2) has mixed his form in recent starts and has a 2 wins split with 2 runs when finishing down the line. Last start he burnt in a 27.4 opener which took the sting out of him with both his wins coming when able to get away with softer opening panels. If he can do that here, they will struggle to run hi down.
COMIGAL (1) finished best of the chasing pack last start behind the airborne PALE BEAR BOO and held 2nd. That followed a tough run from gate 12 when working home in good order. With the cosy trip from this gate she can take the closing shot.
SELECTIONS: GOVINNI (2), COMIGAL (1), BANGKOK BRAVADO (11), ALL AFTER ME (9)
SUGGESTED BET: GOVINNI (2) to win
MISTER MUNDAKA (4) returns from a break and should find this class of race more to his liking. Last start he took on the Qld Cup when tiring late to be down the line behind AZTEC BROMAC. Beaten by the gate when landing gate 7 in the Be Good Johnny Sprint the start prior, he comes into this without a trial. At his best he takes this.
MAFUTA VAUTIN (6) was angled to the outside on Sat night when finishing a 3m 3rd to ALLELUIA after somehow finding a position in the running line. He hit the line strongly 3 starts back when 3m from OUR HI JINX and is knocking on the door of another win as he looks to break the longest non-winning streak in his career.
SELECTIONS: MISTER MUNDAKA (4), MAFUTA VAUTIN (6), THE SHADY ONE (7), PSYCHEDELIC (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 4-6-7-10
