RACE ONE

MUCHO MACHO MAN (8)
should strip fitter for 2 runs back from a break where he scraped into a Rising Stars Final after a 1st up 6th in the heat. He worked triple time in the final when sent forward from the 2nd line to the breeze in a 1.55.5 run over the 2138m taken by MARETTI. He drops sharply in class from that run and has a good record on the triangle.

JACKS GAMBIT (1) should appreciate getting back to Redcliffe class after his past 3 have been at AP where his runs have had merit including a tough run in the breeze from gate 7 when 8m from ZALTA 2 runs back. He has the early speed to take the right trail and has claims.

SELECTIONS: MUCHO MACHO MAN (8), JACKS GAMBIT (1), LYNCHMAN (7), TARIN KOWT (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MUCHO MACHO MAN (8) to win

RACE TWO

SLIPPERY JADE (4) will be tightened from her return to the track last start when pressing forward from gate 6 she did plenty of work over the 1780m and just faded late. A winner 3 starts back in a Gold Pot heat, she can find the right position here and looks to get her chance to finish over the top.

BONNIE JUJON (8) was too far back last start and when she started to make her run the race was gone when PALE BEAR BOO kicked away for a huge win. That was her 1st run back off a freshen and with the benefit of that should follow through nicely at the start and be ready to strike.

SELECTIONS: SLIPPERY JADE (4), BONNIE JUJON (8), HOW WE ROLL (7), BALLATOR THOR (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SLIPPERY JADE (4) to win

RACE THREE

ALTANA BLUE (5) didn’t get a clear shot here from the 2nd row 3 starts back and has not been beaten far in 2 runs at AP since. Last start he hit the line strongly after going back early from gate 7 and finished 6m from the winner MANDY KRIDEN. With even luck in transit he can land a blow here.

RUATO BAY (7) will have early options to get away from the pegs as the sole 2nd line runner. 5 starts back he finished best when racing wide to score and then 2 starts back took them all the way from gate 1. Too far back in a 2nd division qualifier behind TOP TRIO last start, if he gets some luck he can feature.

SELECTIONS: ALTANA BLUE (5), RUATO BAY (7), PROJECTILE (3), SHEZABONNYGEM (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 3-4-5-7

RACE FOUR

PUNTERS DELIGHT (1)
was sent forward from gate 6 on Fri and worked in the run when fighting on well to hold the silver behind BARON JUJON. He has struggled to land a marble in recent starts and with good gate speed he can look to dictate and is the one they have to catch.

MAKE A POINT (7) pressed forward to face the breeze last start and applied the pressure to PALE BEAR BOO who then kicked away for a big win. Despite fading off his run was strong and with the cosy trip will be stalking the 1 every step.

SELECTIONS: PUNTERS DELIGHT (1), MAKE A POINT (7), MONUMENTAL (5), MO JARNEY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: PUNTERS DELIGHT (1) to win

RACE FIVE

SAND SAFARI (5) found the line in good style 4 starts back and went within a half-neck of victory behind WEASEL. Her next start she looked to take them all the way when grabbed late and holding 3rd behind MONKSEATON. In an open contest they can pull the trigger early and she can dictate.

DIAMONDSFROMHEAVEN (7) was too far back last week and was never in the contest when PALE BEAR BOO cleared out to space them. Prior to that she was racing well without a great deal of luck in mares qualifiers. She will need plenty of luck from this gate but if finding space with time she can threaten.

SELECTIONS: SAND SAFARI (5), DIAMONDSFROMHEAVEN (7), SOPHIES PRIDE (3), MINI CAM (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

TORQUE FEELS GOOD (7)
finished 3rd to the smart RED CHARMER 3 starts back when using the passing lane and only beaten 3m at AP. Despite finishing last at her next start she was only 7.5m from the winner. She will sweat on the 1 holding and can make the last shot.

LONG LEGS LOU (1) resumes from a spell to start her 3YO term after ending a 9-start 2YO term with victory. That win was a handy effort when working in the run and proving too strong over the 1780m trip. With good early speed she should be able to hold them wide and will look to grip on.

SELECTIONS:  TORQUE FEELS GOOD (7), LONG LEGS LOU (1), WILLSINTOWN (8), YKIKAFIL (3)
SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE FEELS GOOD (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

VINTAGE DREAM (3) returned from a spell in top order when working home strongly from a 2nd line gate to win when 1st-up over the 1780m start last. Stripping fitter for that outing she faces an easier assignment in this line-up and settling close to the speed can work home over the top to score.

BE ON THE SLY (1) has only started 4 times and has shown enough to suggest that a win is not far away in the right line-up. 2 starts back he used the passing lane to get within a head of the winner LARA BAY and last start was a long way back looking to weave a passage. With the cosy trip he can podium.

SELECTIONS: VINTAGE DREAM (3), BE ON THE SLY (1), ULTIMATE AD (5), SPLASH OF GOLD (4)
SUGGESTED BET: VINTAGE DREAM (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

SOUTHERN ALPS (1)
finds the perfect race to break his maiden status and comes into this on a huge class drop. In 2 Aust starts he took on the heats of the DJA series for the open class and as far from disgraced behind IONA GRINNER in each. From the front tape he should have them chasing all the way.

JUSTABITLIKEMUM (5) has been in the top 3 at her 3 runs here on the triangle with the latest outing an all the way win over the 2613m trip as a red figure fav. A safe beginner she can look for position and with the right trip will be issuing a losing challenge.

SELECTIONS: SOUTHERN ALPS (1), JUSTABITLIKEMUM (5), ASTRAL RULER (7), MY DAD ANGUS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SOUTHERN ALPS (1) to win
