The winning effort of Bettabe Perfect was ideal timing.

Prepared by Chantal Turpin, the Bettors Delight stormed to victory in the Seymour Group Pace at Albion Park on Saturday night defeating the Stephen Cini trained duo of Polished Rocks and The Space Invader in a time of 1:56.1 for the 2138m event.

The eight-year-old gelding has now won 20 races, 16 of those victories coming on Australian soil since being purchased by Brisbane based owner Ross Patrick.

Bettabe Perfect was purchased from the leading stables of New Zealand horseman Tony Herlihy back in 2015 for a very modest amount.

His earnings have now exceeded $160,000.

Late last week, Patrick confirmed the purchase of his latest Kiwi import with the purchase of talented mare Argyle Beach.

The Somebeachsomewhere – Summer Ale pacer will also join the stables of Turpin.

Previously prepared by Invercargill based Wayne Adams, the four-year-old boasts a record of 2 wins and six minor placings from 14 starts to date.

At her most recent start on January 11, Argyle Beach finished a close-up third behind Gore Bay and Lilac Flash in a time of 2:00.6 for the 2200m event.

Both victories have come via her home track of Invercargill.

Argyle Beach ranks as a half-sister to talented performer Summertime Lizzie, a winner of 12 races to date.

Summertime Lizzie has won 8 races at Albion Park and has a ‘PB’ of 1:51.9.

Patrick, a keen breeder in his own right, plans to breed with his latest acquisition once her racing days are completed.

In recent times, Patrick has enjoyed considerable success with the likes of Watch Pulp Fiction and Bettabe Perfect among others.
