RACE TWO

PATERNITY SUIT (2) scored successive Redcliffe wins before finishing down the line in successive runs over his less preferred 2138m trip with the latest when setting the tempo. He gets back to the mile where he is better suited and with the speed to look for the pegs can take them all the way.

OUR MAJOR DAY (5) was caught trying to find position last week over the 2138m and eventually was sent forward and found the front where he fought hard but couldn’t hold on. Too far back the start prior from the 2nd line, he can look to get forward early and throw down a challenge.

TOMEARA (7) lands another tricky gate yet was solid from this same barrier last start when charging home late to be 2m from the winner. That followed a nice win and he shouldn’t be dismissed.

MISTER HART (8) will need a slice of luck and some favours to go his way as he looks to be buried away on the pegs. Effective when saved for 1 sprint and can be charging late when the gaps arrive.

SELECTIONS: PATERNITY SUIT (2), OUR MAJOR DAY (5), TOMEARA (7), MISTER HART (8)
SUGGESTED BET: PATERNITY SUIT (2) to win

RACE THREE

ARGYLE BEACH (3) had been knocking on the door after 3 successive 2nd placed runs all from gate 12 and was able to burst through that door last start. Working away from the pegs from inside the 2nd line she sprinted sharply to score a stylish 2m win with a further 13m back to 3rd. The improved gate is a big plus.

ZARAS DELIGHT (1) worked across to take up the lamp lighting duties in a mares race last start from gate 3 and was gripping to the lead when grabbed late and beaten 2m. Locked away on the pegs the start prior when not far from SLICE OF HEAVEN, she will have the options from the gate.

SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (8) made the most of gate 1 here 2 starts back over the 2138m trip and with a comfortable opening panel held on to score. With a cosy run in transit he can feature in this.

BUNDABURRA (6) started fav last start when resuming from a break and was working home strongly to finish 2m from the winner who scored via the passing lane. Fitter for the run he can storm home.

SELECTIONS: ARGYLE BEACH (3), ZARAS DELIGHT (1), SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (8), BUNDABURRA (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ARGYLE BEACH (3) to win

RACE FOUR

MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (2)
has started 5 times since returning from a break and is bursting out to win a race. 3 starts back he was hitting the line strongly from well back after starting from gate 6 in a strong run. He closed hard for 3rd over the mile 2 starts back and was luckless last run. With an improved gate he can capitalise.

WITH AUTHORITY (1) found running line cover from the 2nd line last start and worked home in good order to grab the bronze when 6m from the winner GASMONKEY. He has been struggling to land a marble and with the move to the ace gate he has the options and can look to cash-in.

OUTLAW FELLA (10) returned to form when finding his race in mid-week company here on Tues and from gate 1 took them all the way over the 2138m, holding on to score by a head. From a tough gate he has podium claims.

KETUT (4) was buried away in the run here over the mile 2 starts back and was attacking the line strongly to grab 2nd behind ITS JUST KENNY. Forget his last start when making an error, he can strike.

SELECTIONS: MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (2), WITH AUTHORITY (1), OUTLAW FELLA (10), KETUT (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (2) to win

RACE FIVE

SECRET JACK (9) started from gate 7 last start when snagged back to find position. Working home wide off the track his closing sections were strong, yet he was just too far back to challenge. That was a strong return after fading the start prior under a tough run and with even luck in transit can get the job done here.

SWEET AS (3) returned a tidy effort in open mares company when not far away from SMOOTH SHOWGIRL 5 starts back and has landed a tough gate in all 4 starts since. Last start she was tracking home strongly and wasn’t far away behind DARKERSHADEOFPALE. The improved gate is a big plus.

PLATINUM ROULETTE (4) makes his Qld debut for Ray Law and resumes from a break in the process. Winless in 12 months, his past 2 starts were against some handy performers when not beaten far and he stays under notice.

ANNIKA MAGIC (8) started from gate 1 last start and after securing the pocket trail worked off the pegs with the winner coming from the position she vacated. With a cosy trip here she has place hopes.

SELECTIONS: SECRET JACK (9), SWEET AS (3), PLATINUM ROULETTE (4), ANNIKA MAGIC (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SECRET JACK (9) to win

RACE SIX

SLICE OF HEAVEN (10)
has hit top gear after his 1st 2 runs back from a spell were strong but didn’t land a return. 3rd up he made the most of gate 1 to take control and after a pedestrian opening 800m for his level had the power to rip home in sub 55. He was strong from the breeze last start and can land the hat-trick.

SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (5) is another in-form runner that goes after a hat-trick. He looked to be in serious bother here last start when buried away but with a good old-fashioned hip and shoulder worked into space and sprinted hard to score. He has the speed to find position and will be in the fight.

ITS JUST KENNY (2) showed the benefit of 1 run back from a freshen when he worked into the running line and was too slick in the closing stages. Finding the pegs from gate 6 last start he went down fighting. With an improved gate he will give this a huge shake.

SIR JULIAN (9) made the most of a rare good alley last start over the mile when taking cover off gate 1 and then sprinting hard up the lane to score. He should get a nice trail through early and can chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: SLICE OF HEAVEN (10), SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (5), ITS JUST KENNY (2), SIR JULIAN (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 2-5-9-10

RACE SEVEN

JOSSIE JAMES (12) has no favours from this alley, however has a slick finishing burst that can see her look to power home over the top. From the 2nd line here 2 starts back over the 2138m she used that late power to swoop home to score. Still looking for a way clear from her last run when buried in transit, she can arrive for the prize.

MIGHT AND MAIN (11) started from gate 12 last start and went to the pegs looking for short-cuts and was too far back to make up any ground. 2 starts back she did some early work and was fighting hard to get within a half-head of victory. Only 5m away 3 starts back she can overcome the gate.

OUR DIAMOND EDITON (1) hasn’t been suited from gate 11 at her past 2 starts in similar mares qualifiers. Thar didn’t stop her returning a solid effort when only 2m from the winner 2 starts back and from the gate she can feature.

STEVIE DEE (9) has put it together after struggling to recapture her best and will aim up for a hat-trick of wins. Too slick in front here on Tues when leading throughout, she is a place chance.

SELECTIONS: JOSSIE JAMES (12), MIGHT AND MAIN (11), OUR DIAMOND EDITON (1), STEVIE DEE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: JOSSIE JAMES (12) to win

RACE EIGHT

OLIVER WINKLE (9)
has met some slightly stronger types in his past 2 starts and faced some tough gates in each of those. Last start from gate 11 over the mile he was angled to the pegs looking for short-cuts and never really had the momentum to issue a challenge. In a tricky contest he can arrive.

MY MOJO (4) should appreciate this type of contest after not being suited last start from gate 7 in a qualifier when snagged back to find position and they were too slick up front to work into it late. He possesses good early speed and might just muster enough to find the pegs which will give him advantage.

HE GETS IT (3) rolled forward in the early stages to find the breeze from gate 4 last start over the 2138m trip and just faded the closing stages. He can settle handy from this alley to be thereabouts.

OHOKA COOPER (10) worked home in good order from gate 5 over the 2138m here 3 starts back when strong late to be 5m from the winner. He hit the line hard last start and is in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: OLIVER WINKLE (9), MY MOJO (4), HE GETS IT (3), OHOKA COOPER (10)
SUGGESTED BET: OLIVER WINKLE (9) to win

RACE NINE

BODHI TREE (1)
worked to the front from gate 4 over the 2138m trip here 2 starts back and once in control kept the speed on all the way and was still able to rattle home in 27.5 to claim a strong win. He secures an improved gate and will have the speed to keep them wide making him hard to stop.

WATCH PULP FICTION (2) was a long way back in the pack last start and was charging home in the closing stages to get within a half-neck of the winner GLENFERRIE HOOD. Forget his run 2 starts back in the Qld Cup when striking trouble, securing a clear run in the closing stages he is a huge threat.

FRANKIE ROCKS (8) was buried away on the pegs last start and was sprinting hard in the closing stages when angled out into open space to grab 3rd. With a cosy peg trip he will be ready to strike.

MAKO BANNER (9) resumes from a freshen and was last seen in the pocket trail when finishing 4m from the winner ALLELUIA. He can look for the pegs early and with the cheap trip chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: BODHI TREE (1), WATCH PULP FICTION (2), FRANKIE ROCKS (8), MAKO BANNER (9)
SUGGESTED BET: BODHI TREE (1) to win

RACE TEN

NEEDLE (6)
started from the 2nd line last start under mobile conditions and was working home strongly wide off the track to grab the silver. That followed a tough 3rd in the DJA final when doing all the work and with the benefit of a front line gate can get in the action early to claim this.

MAYBETOTHEMAX (9) was sent forward early to find the breeze from gate 7 last start and in a strongly run 2138m trip just faded in the closing stages. That followed a strong win from the front and with the right luck in slicing through early can be looking to finish hard in the closing stages.

STONED AGAIN (1) is a brilliant beginner from the mobile and although he faces stiffer competition than recent starts, if he can pinch a panel in front, he will give them plenty to chase.

MISTER GUNSEN (8) will be glued to the back of the 1 at the start and with the cosy trip in transit will be ready to strike when sighting space. He chased gamely last start and can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: NEEDLE (6), MAYBETOTHEMAX (9), STONED AGAIN (1), MISTER GUNSEN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: NEEDLE (6) to win
