Form Analysis: Redcliffe Jan 23

RACE ONE

MIGHT AND MAIN (7)
has taken on mares qualifiers at her past 4 and started from 2nd line in the past 3. From inside the 2nd line on Saturday night she was buried 3 back as LISA LINCOLN dealt in front and was only 4m away. Needing luck and sweating on the 1 holding the front she can strike.

DRIVE THE DREAM (1) was angled to the pegs last start over the 2138m trip and worked home in good order to grab the bronze when 7m from the winner LINCOLN ROAD. That followed 4 successive 2nd line gates and while she will need to hustle, she has the options and looks to get her chance.

BETTOR BE LUCKY (2) has struggled to show his best this term however his past few have been encouraging including the latest when working home well from gate 7. He can go well in front.

DARBY BRIGHTS (9) found the line in good order last start after being buried away and the start prior wasn’t suited from gate 11. A good winner here 3 starts back, she is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: MIGHT AND MAIN (7), DRIVE THE DREAM (1), BETTOR BE LUCKY (2), DARBY BRIGHTS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-7-9

RACE TWO

SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (10) was a winner over this trip 4 starts back when packing too many guns from the breeze. Runner up at his past 2, the latest when sent to the breeze from the 2nd line and going within a head of victory, he will need to do some work here but looks to have an edge over his rivals.

SPLASH OF GOLD (1) lands her best gate in recent starts with her past 4 all from the 2nd line. Luckless last start when probing for gaps that never opened, she was within 5m of the winner and the start prior was too far back. With the early options she can get a cosy trip despite a query on the distance.

REAL KNUCKY (8) returns from a freshen after finding some nice form. Finding the money in 8 of 12 appearances this season, he can find a nice position in transit here and be ready to strike.

BOB GAGE (2) was buried away in the run from gate 1 here last start and that ended his chances. A winner when working to the front here 5 starts back he can apply early pressure and is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (10), SPLASH OF GOLD (1), REAL KNUCKY (8), BOB GAGE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (10) to win

RACE THREE

FEEL THE REIGN (4) started from inside the 2nd line here 3 starts back and from the pocket trail went within a half-neck of the winner THE HARLEM HAMMER. Taken back from gate 6 at his next start, he found the line strongly at his next run and with good early speed looks to get his chance in front.

LETHAL PROMISE (3) added another minor placing to his tally last start, taking his Redcliffe record to a top 3 in 28 of 32 appearances. Doing the hard work outside the leader last start he fought to the line when 5m from the winner. Likely to be working again he will be in for the fight.

SPONDOOLEY (7) went to the front from gate 2 last start before releasing and along the passing lane went within 2m of the winner. He will need a slice of luck but will be swooping late.

BIG BEAT (8) will take benefit from his latest outing when returning from a freshen he landed gate 10 and was strong when wide off the track. With the right early trail he can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: FEEL THE REIGN (4), LETHAL PROMISE (3), SPONDOOLEY (7), BIG BEAT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: FEEL THE REIGN (4) to win

RACE FOUR

REDDY FIRE (1)
doesn’t have the numbers next to his name but he finds a race and a gate here to take advantage of. He faded off last start after being locked away on the pegs which followed a tough run when wide for a long way off gate 6 at the AP mile. From the gate he can dictate.

MINI MIRACLE (9) returns from a spell and comes into this without a public trial. Run down in the closing stages here 3 starts back she has faced some tricky gates at her next 2 outings with the latest when also striking trouble in the run. With even luck in transit she can chime in and will benefit.

WAVEDANCER (5) raced in the pocket trail last start from gate 1 and was chased along at the 300m but kept coming along the passing lane. The wide gate makes it a little tricky but he has place hopes.

BUKTHSYSTEM (6) was snagged back from gate 4 last start and locked away was sound to the line. His run from gate 6 here 4 starts back was a nice effort and a repeat of that can see him feature.

SELECTIONS: REDDY FIRE (1), MINI MIRACLE (9), WAVEDANCER (5), BUKTHSYSTEM (6)
SUGGESTED BET: REDDY FIRE (1) to win

RACE FIVE

GIGANTIC JASPER (4) found the line strongly last start after going back from gate 6 over the sprint trip. That followed an all the way win when running even panels in front from gate 1. Grabbed late by the in-form SHEZA GALVINATOR 3 starts back, he can fire the 1st shot and look to take control.

ARK PATROL (3) has struggle to show his best in recent outings, however finds conditions to suit here. Forced to work in the run last start when no closer than 3 wide the trip he will appreciate the improved gate here and with his best work done from the front, a bold showing would not surprise.

ROYAL TAZ (1) was locked away from inside the 2nd line last start and would have been closer if finding space sooner. With the options from the gate he will be coiled and ready to strike.

WEASEL (9) has placed at his past 2 starts, the latest when working hard in the run to get to the breeze from gate 5 and only falling a head short. Despite the gate he is right in the fight here.

SELECTIONS: GIGANTIC JASPER (4), ARK PATROL (3), ROYAL TAZ (1), WEASEL (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

BE ON THE SLY (8)
went to the front last start from gate 2 and looked to take them all the way when setting even fractions in front. Collared late he held on for the bronze with that following his 1st up run when using the passing lane and only beaten 2m. He will need factors going his way but can arrive.

MAJORESS JUJON (4) went to the front from gate 2 last start and looked to dictate when grabbed in the closing stages. Not suited his previous 2 from tricky gates, he had claimed the bronze his 2 runs prior to that and getting across them early here will be in the mix.

NOT ALWAYS (1) will take some benefit from his 1st up run when returning from a break. With the options from the gate he can hustle early and with the inside advantage is a place hope.

OSCARS GLORY (6) looked to take them all the way last start from gate 1 over the sprint trip and was grabbed late, finishing 3m from the winner. He has no favours from this gate but can chime in.

SELECTIONS: BE ON THE SLY (8), MAJORESS JUJON (4), NOT ALWAYS (1), OSCARS GLORY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: BE ON THE SLY (8) each-way

RACE SEVEN

ACE MONTANA (1) has placed in 3 of 6 career starts and is putting it all together slowly. Sent to the post as fav last start he was wide from gate 5 working forward and was in for the fight from the breeze when 5m from the winner. From the gate he looks to get his chance to dictate a maiden win.

MISS MIA (6) has not fared well in the barriers but will find this easier than recent outings. Spearing out early from gate 4 here 3 starts back she then released the front and went within 1m of the winner MONTANA CHIEF. Forget her last start when striking trouble, she can challenge here.

MOLLY MONTANA (5) has started just twice in her career and not been far away in each. Buried away on debut she was strong to the line and last start was only beaten 4m. She can feature here.

PERFECT FEELING (8) made the most of the pocket trail to grab the bronze at AP 2 starts back after chasing ROLL ONA RAINBOW. Not suited in the breeze last start he has been freshened.

SELECTIONS: ACE MONTANA (1), MISS MIA (6), MOLLY MONTANA (5), PERFECT FEELING (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ACE MONTANA (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

ITZ MAJOR LOOK (4)
is still after his 1st Aus win and is getting closer to achieving it. Runner-up in successive runs from 2nd line gates, his latest effort was tidy after having an early look he was then snagged back to last. With the gate advantage over the main danger he can look to fire the 1st shot.

CHERRYS THE BEST (5) was a tough winner when returning from a break here 4 starts back and proved too strong from the breeze. Buried in the run in a Gold Pot final behind PARAVANI 2 starts back she then didn’t get the best of it early when a fighting 2nd to TAXI METER. Big threat here.

ROLL ONA RAINBOW (1) found his race over the sprint trip 4 starts back at AP and taking control in front was able to break the maiden tag. Using the passing lane when a half-neck away last start the inside gate helps.

LITTLE BOLT (7) has returned this season in fine style with 3 wins and 2 placings in 6 outings. He took all the way last start and with a cosy run in transit here will be probing for openings.

SELECTIONS: ITZ MAJOR LOOK (4), CHERRYS THE BEST (5), ROLL ONA RAINBOW (1), LITTLE BOLT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: ITZ MAJOR LOOK / CHERRYS THE BEST (4/5) quinella

RACE NINE

MISS INVASION (6)
took a long time to finally breakthrough for her 1st Qld win after going close on plenty of occasions but after claiming that initial victory was able to back it up quickly at her latest start when pressing forward to find the front. That made it 2 from 2 for Narissa McMullen aboard the mare and they can land the hat-trick here.

DAY TOURER (4) started from the 20m tape last start and was hitting the line strongly from well back when within 4m of MISS INVASION to claim the silver. Only grabbed in the closing stages 3 starts back, he has good speed off the arm and can look to take his shot here.

SCHIPPERS (1) has placed in 4 of her past 5 and has a solid place record from the mobile. After pressing forward here 2 starts back she was claimed late by MISS INVASION and from the gate can place again.

GALAXY HUNTER (7) can get away from the pegs early if need be as the lone 2nd line runner. Last start from gate 1 over the 2138m mobile trip he held 2nd to JUSTABITCOCO and is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: MISS INVASION (6), DAY TOURER (4), SCHIPPERS (1), GALAXY HUNTER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: DAY TOURER (4)
