Murwillumbah trainer Matt Dunn is hopeful of book ending the eight-race program at the Gold Coast on Wednesday.

Dunn has accepted with seven runners in four races but has multiple entries in the opening race and final event.

Dunn’s opening salvos come from Bullet Shot and Jeopardise Me in the Class Three Handicap (1800m) while he accepted with three runners in the final race with Our Echo, Rest Of The World and Luvdisc in the Class Two Handicap (1200m).

Dunn rates Jeopardise Me as the best of his stable’s hopes following the four-year-old mare’s fast finishing second to Certain Doubt over 1900 metres at Ballina on January 17.

“Jeopardise Me should have won at Ballina and she’s probably my best chance at the Gold Coast,” Dunn said.

“I’m treading water a little with Bullet Shot as he’s missed a few runs lately.”

Five-year-old Bullet Shot went down in a close finish to the John Shelton-trained Medicine Ball in a 1900-metre Benchmark race at Coffs Harbor on December 30 which followed a game second to stablemate One For Betty at Ballina on December 12.

Dunn is likely to start Luvdisc at Doomben on Thursday but is still hopeful Our Echo and Rest of The World will be competitive in the Class Two Handicap.

“I’m trying to qualify all three for the Country Championships at Coffs Harbour next month but all have drawn badly again,” Dunn said.

“Luvdisc won’t run and will start at Doomben on Thursday and I probably just favour Our Echo over Rest of The World.

“I’ve had to scratch Rest Of The World three times now because of bad draws and he’s got another shocker in gate 14 tomorrow.”

Our Echo will be ridden by in-form apprentice Stephanie Thornton who finished ninth on the four-year-old behind the Michael Costa-trained Probatory in the Magic Millions Rising Stars at the Gold Coast on January 4.

Matt McGillivray will partner Rest Of The World while Ron Stewart rides Dunn’s best chance, Jeopardise Me, in the opening race.
