RACE TWO

AMILLION PROMISES (3) had no luck at all last start and covered plenty of the Albion Park oval when caught wide from gate 7. The run was big under the circumstances as he was still only 7m from the winner RECIPE FOR DREAMING. A Rising Stars Heat winner 3 starts back, the improved gate can make all the difference here.

COBBLER LANE (4) has been in superb form since joining the Warren Hinze barn and will shoot for his 4th successive win here. Leading from gate 3 last start he kept the speed on throughout in taking a new career benchmark. He might need to roll the sleeves here but can keep hammering away.

THATS BETTOR (1) was looking to complete a hattrick of victories here last time out when finishing within 5m of SHEISWATCHING. Set to a get a cosy run in transit, she can be finishing hard in this.

CC JONES (10) has been in the money at 3 of his past 4 appearances, the latest when going within a lip of victory behind RECIPE FOR DREAMING. The gate doesn’t help, but he can be around the mark.

SELECTIONS: AMILLION PROMISES (3), COBBLER LANE (4), THATS BETTOR (1), CC JONES (10)
SUGGESTED BET: AMILLION PROMISES (3) to win

RACE THREE

BRADS LUCK (2) will make his 1st Qld appearance for visiting New South Welshman Bernie Hewitt and arrives with some handy form. Grabbing the bronze last start at Penrith, he wasn’t far away from the smart MAXIMUS RED at Peak Hill 3 starts back and from this gate can make a winning start.

ALPHA STYX (1) faced the breeze last start in a similar race over the 2138m trip and fought gamely when 4m from the winner MORTENSON. The start prior the run had merit after doing some early work behind FAME ASSURED and with the good alley over the mile, he is right in the fight.
SPRING CAMPAIGN (10) should appreciate this type of conditioned contest after having no luck in transit last start in a qualifier behind TROJAN BANNER. He found the line well 2 starts back and will be closing out here.

SON OF MARA (4) has grabbed the bronze at his past 2 starts, the latest when hitting the line strongly to be within 1.5m of the winner at Redcliffe. Settling handy, he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: BRADS LUCK (2), ALPHA STYX (1), SPRING CAMPAIGN (10), SON OF MARA (4)
SUGGESTED BET: BRADS LUCK (2) to win

RACE FOUR

IN THE PAPER (1)
started from the 2nd line here on Tues and was finding the line in good style wide off the track over this same trip, finishing 7m from the passing lane winner. He did his share of work in the run at Penrith 2 starts back and from this alley gets every chance to capitalise.

RANDOM TASK (4) rolled to the breeze from gate 5 here last start and after working hard in the run, faded in the stretch to be 12m from the winner PROFICIENT. That followed successive wins at his only Qld appearances, the 2nd of those a stylish run when closing out strongly. He can bounce back.

FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (3) was a winner over the mile here 3 starts back when proving too tough from the breeze. Only 5m from the smart 3YO WE SALUTE YOU last start, he will be right in the fight.

SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (9) pressed forward to find the front last start, but it came with a cost of a sub 27 opening split which saw him fade late, yet still hold 3rd behind MAKE WAY. He can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: IN THE PAPER (1), RANDOM TASK (4), FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (3), SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: IN THE PAPER (1) to win

RACE FIVE

CASINO TOMMY (6) returns to the claiming ranks after a tidy effort when buried away last start as CHANTREY dictated from the front over the mile in a Band 5 event. A winner last time he appeared in the claimers 2 starts ago when too tough from the breeze, he can look to repeat the result here.

RORY MACH (2) made the most of the early burn up-front last time out to finish with a wet sail to claim a career best win rate when cruising past to a 4m win. He didn’t get the cleanest passage the start prior and with even luck in transit he can be swooping on them in the closing stages again.

COMPLY OR DIE (4) was snagged back last start from gate 7 and back in the pack couldn’t work into it. He gets his chance here to show his speed out of the machine and can be an improver.

ONE WISE MAN (3) was buried away from inside the 2nd line last start when making good closing metres to grab the bronze. A winner from that same position 2 starts back, he will be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: CASINO TOMMY (6), RORY MACH (2), COMPLY OR DIE (4), ONE WISE MAN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: CASINO TOMMY (6) to win

RACE SIX

Not at her best in the South East Oaks FOR ALL WE KNOW (5) was down the line and bypasses the Qld Oaks to tackle this assignment. A sharp winner here 2 starts back when sent to the front from this same gate, the return to the mile could be just the tonic to see her back in the winners stall.

ALLABOUTDREMS (11) pressed ahead from gate 12 here 3 starts back to sit outside FOR ALL WE KNOW and with the gate differential proving too great, finished 3m in arrears. Since that run she then wasn’t suited in the Redcliffe Oaks before proving too strong here last time out. The gate hurts.

JUST JOSHIN (9) started from gate 11 in a Rising Stars Final last start when attacking the line strongly in the closing stages. That followed a solid 3rd in the heat of that series and he will be finishing hard.

PROCUREMENT (2) made an error last start that saw him banished to the trials. Earning his ticket back with a pair of handy performances, if he can limit the early burn, he won’t be too far away.

SELECTIONS: FOR ALL WE KNOW (5), ALLABOUTDREMS (11), JUST JOSHIN (9), PROCUREMENT (2)
SUGGESTED BET: FOR ALL WE KNOW (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

KINETIC KATE (4) stepped out for the Dixon stable for the 1st time last time out when settling back in the pack from a 2nd line gate. The closing tempo made it a tough ask for the chasers as MAKE WAY was too sharp, while the start prior she went within a lip of taking a mares qualifier. This looks ideal.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (7) is in great touch at present and displayed that form last time out when rolling forward to the breeze and rolling the sleeves was able to fight them all off to claim the narrowest of wins. Grabbed late in a Rising Stars Final 2 starts back, he will make his presence felt.

SLIPPERY JADE (9) started from gate 12 last start and was working home wide off the track in fine style, only 3m from the winner. Beaten an eyelash here 3 starts back, she can charge home.

DATITUDE (3) has proven himself to be a bit of an enigma, mixing some tough performances with poor manners. Fresh from a 2-trial embargo, if he can put it together, he can be right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: KINETIC KATE (4), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (7), SLIPPERY JADE (9), DATITUDE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: KINETIC KATE (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

HAPPY FEELINGS (5)
was wide off the track here 3 starts back and attacked the line strongly to grab the silver when beaten a head. Last time out she wasn’t cleanly away and settling in the running line finished just in behind them. Looking to get into this contest nicely, she gets her chance.

TRAIN WRECK (3) has been in the money at 3 of his past 5, the latest when finding the pocket trail from gate 2 and then using the passing lane to be 2m from the in-form RECIPE FOR DREAMING. That was his 1st run back in the main draw following issues with his barrier manners and he can challenge.

TAYLAH STUDLEIGH (1) was buried away in the run from inside the 2nd line last start over the mile and was then chasing against the tempo as MAKE WAY was able to capitalise. She can feature here.

JILLIBY MAKO (7) makes his Qld debut for the visiting McLean team. Last start he found the line in good order from a long way back at Melton which followed a narrow defeat at Terang. He is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: HAPPY FEELINGS (5), TRAIN WRECK (3), TAYLAH STUDLEIGH (1), JILLIBY MAKO (7)
SUGGESTED BET: HAPPY FEELINGS (5) to win
