THREE horses are tied for first place after five rounds of the Magic Millions FNQ Up and Coming Stayers Series.

Beach Head, The Principal an Barwon have all secured four points each, with three rounds to go in the progressive points series.

The owner of the horse that accrues the most points throughout the series will receive a $4000 bonus.

The leading trainer will also receive a $2000 bonus, with Rodney Miller, Michael McLellan and Sharlee D'Avila all on four points apiece.

Defending champion trainer John Manzelmann is stalking the pack on three points.

The fifth leg of the series was a Benchmark 65 contested over 1900m at Cairns last weekend.

Trainer Roy Chillemi reigned supreme with five-year-old gelding Royal Supreme ($2 fav), ridden by Nathan Day.

Royal Supreme had the leaders covered a long way out and won like a $2 favourite should, going on to beat Barwon by 1.25 lengths.

The next round of the series will be a Benchmark 65 Handicap (2000m) at Atherton on June 23.

The series then heads to Oak Park (July 7) before wrapping up in Cairns on July 17.
