Talented intermediate grade pacer Mr Kalypso is now a Queenslander.

Previously prepared in Christchurch by the All Stars stable of Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen where he displayed obvious talent.

The 4yo Art Major – Kalypso entire raced on seven occasions for 1 win and 4 minor placings following his purchase from the Sydney division of the 2015 Australian Pacing Gold Yearling Sale where he was knocked down to the bid of $90,000 to Purdon.

He is a half-brother to millionaire pacer and now successful sire, Caribbean Blaster.

Mr Kalypso was raced by Cheryl Rasmussen, Neil Pilcher and Trevor Titcomb.

He made his debut back in March, 2016 as a two-year-old when second behind his stablemate Vincent while his other stablemate Ultimate Machete finished third.

Following his debut, he ventured to Australia for a shot at the Australian Pacing Gold series but failed to win in his two starts at TABCORP Park, Menangle.

A lengthy layoff did not see him race again until January, 2017 where he would have another two starts before going to the paddock again.

He would return a winner in March, 2018 at Addington before finishing third in his final New Zealand start.

Mr Kalypso has now joined the Stanmore stables of Darren Weeks and Kylie Rasmussen.

But don’t expect to see him competing during the upcoming winter carnival features.

He was sent straight to Lunchbox Lodge Spelling Farm upon his arrival.
