RACE TWO

BETTOR BECAUSE (9) took on the Redcliffe Oaks last start and after being unable to find position was forced to retreat. Settling back in the pack, her closing splits were superb as she finished mid-field behind the start filly SMART AS CAMM BE. Despite the gate, this looks her easiest assignment in recent starts and she can arrive.

CALL ME TRISH (1) is absolutely banging on the door to break her maiden tag and from gate 1 she will give it a red-hot shake here. A smart mid-race attack saw her find the front last start and then was only collared in the closing stages. Her early speed is of concern, but look for her charging home.

MALIBU DREAM (7) is on the back-up from Thurs where he had found a good race and looming up in the stretch took the front, only to be collared in the closing strides. Likely to be buried in the run here, he will need some luck to find space.

CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM (10) snagged back from gate 5 last start before working home in good order to grab the silver. A beaten fav here 2 starts back, she will be swooping home in this.

SELECTIONS: BETTOR BECAUSE (9), CALL ME TRISH (1), MALIBU DREAM (7), CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR BECAUSE (9) to win

RACE THREE

ELZBOY (9) will appreciate returning to the triangle after his past 2 starts have been in much stronger contests at AP. His run in a Rising Stars heat last start had merit which followed an unsuited slick mile. Arriving to claim the prize here 3 starts back, this looks right up his alley and he can arrive.

KISS CAM (7) led the up last start over the sprint trip and setting a solid tempo was only grabbed right on the line by TROUBELSOME DAVE. Gunned down here 2 starts back in similar circumstances, he will get the closing shot here and 1st up for Donny Smith will be right in the fight.

IM TOOT (10) is on the back-up from Thursday where he was crossed in the early stages from gate 1 but extricating into space arrived to take the prize. Holding on for the bronze here 3 start back, with the right cart home, he can chime in.

MIRACLESDOAPPEN (6) struck trouble in the run here last start and ended up back in the pack, ending her hopes. Grabbed late when leading here 3 starts back, she can fire out and is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: ELZBOY (9), KISS CAM (7), IM TOOT (10), MIRACLESDOAPPEN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ELZBOY (9) to win

RACE FOUR

COBBLER LANE (5)
had put the writing on the wall with a pair of compelling runs at his 1st 2 starts since arriving in Qld. Closing nicely for 3rd from gate 11 behind STUDLEIGH SONNY, he then was sent forward from the 2nd line and in a powerful display from the breeze scored a big win. He can repeat.

INDYS APPROVAL (3) steps out for Donny Smith following 1 run in Qld where he was banished to the trials. Earning his race ticket back with a sharp trial, he can look to utilise his speed out of the machine here to get forward and taking control will be gripping on in the stretch.

SPORTS STORY (8) will take good benefit from her latest outing when resuming from a spell. Settling in the pocket trail over the AP 2138m trip. Hampered behind a tiring leader, she was carted out of contention. This appeals.

LADY ELL AYE (1) started from the 2nd line last time out when 2nd up from a break and working home was hitting the line in good order to grab the bronze. With the soft trip she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: COBBLER LANE (5), INDYS APPROVAL (3), SPORTS STORY (8), LADY ELL AYE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-5-8

RACE FIVE

THANKHEAVNFORGIRLS (3) is yet to land a win this season after 25 outings, but from gate 3 in this mares only contest, it looks her best chance to capitalise. Not suited when working in the breeze last start, her run behind OUR DELIGHT 2 back was a tidy effort. This can be career win number 2.

PEGGY STARDUST (7) ws working home wide off the track last start after angling away from the pegs when starting inside the 2nd line. From the gate here, she will need a slice of luck, but with the economical run can be firing bullets in the stretch.

BETTERTHAN TORQUE (6) isn’t afforded any favours from this alley as she resumes from a spell. A winner here 3 starts back when closing out nicely for a narrow win, she has claims in this.

KOOKABURRAPRINCESS (1) is on debut for Neil Coy, having trialled well enough that from gate 1 she will be thereabouts. A full-sister to the former handy mare ROWAN FRANCO, she stays under watch.

SELECTIONS: THANKHEAVNFORGIRLS (3), PEGGY STARDUST (7), BETTERTHAN TORQUE (6), KOOKABURRAPRINCESS (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

BILL HALEY (4)
attacked the line strongly at his Qld debut when finishing within 5m of the winner CARDLESFROMHEAVEN after settling a long way back from gate 11. He finished best to claim victory here last start in a slick 1780m and in this line up he can shake, rattle and roll his way to the prize.

TROUBLESOME DAVE (7) is another in a float-load that have joined the Donny Smith yard and comes into this a last start winner when prepared by Scott Hewitt. Taking the pocket trail in that event from gate 1, he arrived in time to claim the win. That followed a nice 2nd and he will be searching for luck.

THUNDER MAC (10) was a winner here 2 starts back when pressing ahead from gate 9 in a race similar to this, claiming a 2m win. Gunned down after setting the pace in a qualifier last time, he has place hopes here.

BEEF CITY BLAZE (3) was snagged back from gate 7 over the AP 2138m last time out. Working home in good order, his closing sections were strong. Fitter for the run, he can fire an early shot.

SELECTIONS: BILL HALEY (4), TROUBLESOME DAVE (7), THUNDER MAC (10), BEEF CITY BLAZE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: BILL HALEY (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

RAGING INFERNO (6) is on the back-up from Fri where he looked well-placed. A Redcliffe winner when making his Qld debut and then placed another 4 times at his next 5 starts, his run here 2 starts back was strong when charging home late. Set alight, he can zoom across and look to take control.

DONT CALL ME (9) switches barns and will line up for Donny Smith in this contest. Placed in 2 appearances here at Redcliffe, the latest was a tidy effort when charging home to grab the bronze behind OUR DELIGHT. Beaten a head here 2 starts back, he looks the main danger.

HALF MOON BEACH (7) pressed ahead to take control here last start from gate 4 and setting a steady opening 800m split, was only grabbed in the closing stages. He will be probing for gaps here.

HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (5) started from inside the 2nd line here last start when down the line behind SHERIFF JUJON. 2nd behind OUR DELIGHT 2 starts back, he can chime in to fill the exotics.

SELECTIONS: RAGING INFERNO (6), DONT CALL ME (9), HALF MOON BEACH (7), HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: RAGING INFERNO (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

A tough maiden 3YO to assess here but leaning to BUTCHERFEELGOOD (8) on top after placings in 2 of his previous 4 starts. Backing up from AP on Thurs where she was left flat when the speed went on, she will be better suited back to the triangle. Chasing home well for the bronze 2 starts back, this might just be her time.

FEELGOODCHICK (1) has just the one placing against her name after 11 career starts, the latest when well down the track in the same race as BUTCHERFEELGOOD. Starting from gate 5 in that race, she was snagged back to find position and with the benefit of the improved gate, look for a sharper run.

FORTYFIVE ROCK (5) features in a stable switch and will line up here for Norm Copeland. Down the line in 2 runs back from a spell, he should find this class of opposition within reach and can bob up.

OUR MAQUERADE (7) is backing up from Thurs and from the gate here should secure an easy run in transit. Only beaten a head when grabbed on the line 2 starts back, she can feature in this.

SELECTIONS: BUTCHERFEELGOOD (8), FEELGOODCHICK (1), FORTYFIVE ROCK (5), OUR MAQUERADE (7)
SUGGESTED BET:
