Stradbroke Handicap

2nd Tyzone (Tommy Berry): Had a beautiful cart in behind the winner. He just wasn’t good enough to get past him in the end.

3rd Endless Drama (Leith Innes): It was a super run and he’s come a long way in a couple of months since he’s been back in New Zealand. He got there a little bit soon but it was a good effort.

4th Spright (Glen Boss): She got spat out at the start. He wouldn’t have beaten the winner but should have run second or third.  It was huge.

5th Tom Melbourne (Michael Dee): It was a bit of a surprise to see him back there. He jumped really well and just stumbled shortly after. From then on, I didn’t want to give him a dig as he can get fired up. So, I had to make do with what I had. Other than that, it was a good run.

6th Viridine (Tim Clark): I thought he performed well. I thought he probably performed better this week than he did last week. He dropped in the weights and kept finding the line.

7th Widgee Turf (Billy Egan): Good run and honest enough but at this level he probably needs all the favours to win.

8th Dollar For Dollar (Jamie Kah): Better than his last start effort but I think he’s just not 100 per cent at the moment.

9th Irithea (Robbie Fradd): It was a good run from her. Probably held up a touch too long at the top of the straight. Needed the gap to come earlier but in saying that it was a top from her.

10th Encryption (Craig Williams): He’s off to stud now. He won a Group 2 in the Danehill Stakes and placed in a Group 1. Today if he didn’t get his momentum stopped in the straight, he would have finished two lengths closer.

11th The Bostonian (Michael Cahill): He lost his footing as the gates opened which pout him back out of that forward position, he normally he takes. He still raced well but he didn’t get a lot of room in the straight. He pretty much spoilt his chances at the start.

12th Pretty In Pink (Robbie Dolan): He never really got a lot of luck in running. He was on the rail and cruised into it pretty nice. But he was just running into dead ends.

13th Despatch (Barend Vorster): He was very unfortunate and not got a clear run. He sat there and watched the whole finish throughout the straight so he was pretty unfortunate.

14th Man Booker (Joe Bowditch):  He had the outside barrier and got caught wide from the gate. Tough run took its toll.

16th Deploy (Brenton Avdulla): He had a perfect run and was disappointing.

17th Home Of The Brave (James McDonald): Just too keen.

Brisbane Cup

2nd Grey Lion (Kathy O’Hara): I thought it was a really tough effort from the horse today. He travelled sweetly for me throughout the race and enjoyed a really nice run. He ducked at the top of the straight and the other horse had the drop on us though.

3rd Big Duke (John Allen): He ran super. He was a bit flat here early on and had to work a way through the field a bit but he really hit the line well. A wet track might have been a different story.

4th Sin To Win (Kerrin McEvoy): Great run. We ended up a bit further back than I wanted. I had to travel into it and we were a bit wide on the corner but he stayed on well. There’s a couple of good races here over an extended distance that will be right up his alley in the coming weeks.

7th Sopressa (Craig Williams): I thought her run was very gallant under the circumstances. There was a lot of pressure but she’s a bold front running horse. Sher wasn’t able to dictate the terms and under the circumstances it was a very solid run in that grade.

8th Haripour (Blake Shinn): Didn’t have an idea run from a good draw but I thought he ran a good race.

10th Exoteric (James McDonald): He went okay. Just got back and boxed on.

11th The Lord Mayor (Tommy Berry): He’s just come to the end of his prep.

13th Tumultuous (Robbie Fradd): Got caught a bit out but in saying that if there was a bit more give in the ground it would have been better for him.

14th Master Zephyr (Luke Tarrant): Very, very good run. Just missed a run which probably cost us late but I was very happy with the run.

15th The Candy Man (Michael Cahill): It was too hard a run. He just couldn’t get in from his gate and was three wide for a good part of it and had to use too much petrol.

17th Tally (Tim Clark):  I thought he was a little bit disappointing.

Queensland Guineas

2nd Baccarat Baby (Michael Hellyer): I couldn’t have had a better run. She went as good as she possibly could but the winner was too good. She’s got a race in her.

3rd Pohutukawa (Blake Shinn): She should have easily won. I made a wrong decision clearly at the 300 electing to come to the outside of Leonardo Da Hinchi. I should have followed the second horse through and if I do that she wins.

4th Seabrook (Damien Oliver): I was really pleased with the run. I thought with a kinder draw she could have finished a bit closer.

5th Junipal (John Allen): He went super but we just didn’t have much room on the home turn and had to wait for a run but he really hit the line well when he got out.

6th Outrageous (Tommy Berry): He went a bit keen for the mile and probably is ready for a break.

7th Starkers (Sean Cormack): Cracking run for him. Struck a bit of trouble up the straight but a fantastic run.

8th Leonardo Da Hinchi (Brad Rawiller): He ran really well today. We got squeezed out at the start and tried to get in but he was caught without cover. He held on longer than expected to with the run he had.

10th Zoutori (Craig Williams): He never got around the track today and I was wrestling him to stay behind the cover when he was three wide and unfortunately, he didn’t get around the track so we didn’t see him at his best.

12th Agassi (Larry Cassidy): He led and we sort of got knocked over but he was tiring. He’s a nice horse and will be a nicer horse next prep.

13th Ringerdingding (Brenton Avdulla): He travelled well and I was on the back of Pohutukawa but when they quickened up, he didn’t quicken up at all for me. I just reckon he went through the motions.

14th Ocean Waves (Jimmy Orman): I had an okay run and just followed the winner. They just sprinted without us and we got lost up the straight.

Queensland Derby

4th Nobu (Tommy Berry): He ran well but just got too far out of his ground from where he was. He picked up well in the straight. He’s going well.

6th Not A Single Cent (Michael Dee): Good run. We followed the winner everywhere he went. Just lacked that extra turn of foot he needs.

9th Re Edit (James McDonald): She went good. Got a lovely spot and lovely rhythm but she got a bit tired late.

12th Stars Of Carrum (Tim Clark): I just rode him quiet early and then let him slide around mid-race but on the turn his run had ended.

13th Home Made (Jamie Kah): He was a bit disappointing. The race really wasn’t run to suit him as he needs something to chase into the straight.

15th Trusty Lad (Jimmy Orman): He led which is probably not his go. He needs a bit of cover but he boxed on all right.
