RACE TWO

IS SOMETHINGBURNING (8) was in search of a hat-trick of victories here last week when sent to the post as fav from the 10m tape. Chasing home from back in the pack, she was finding the line nicely to grab the bronze when 7m from the winner HAVANA MAGIC. With the right cart home, she can bounce back to winning form.

DOWN UNDER RORS (4) hasn’t been too far away in recent times and with the benefit of the front tape can look to influence the podium in this. Settling in the running line last start, he was closing nicely in a blanket finish when within 1.5m of the winner. Tough the start prior, this is within reach.

AVEROSS DON (6) has been freshened since his last outing when striking some trouble in the run and finishing rearward. Closing hard from a 20m tape the start prior, he can work into this.

PATSDELIGHT (9) has the 30m impost to negotiate, however she has been meeting the higher graded square gaiters in recent starts. Grabbed late last start when leading, she is in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: IS SOMETHINGBURNING (8), DOWN UNDER RORS (4), AVEROSS DON (6), PATSDELIGHT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: IS SOMETHINGBURNING (8) to win

RACE THREE

JEDDY R YA READY (6)
doesn’t have a great deal of experience from the mobile with a lone placing in 3 attempts. His form from the tapes has been good without winning, having placed in 4 of his 5 appearances since his last victory. Hitting the line in nice order for 3rd to OUR OVERANOVA last start, he can take this.

MUSCULUS (4) has been a model of consistency and comes into this finishing as the runner-up at 5 of his past 6 starts. Sent to the post as fav last outing, he was taking the closing shot up the passing lane when 1m in arrears of the winner NORTHERN MUSCLE. Settling handy from this gate, he can challenge once again.

MELPARK MAGIC (3) was a winner over the mobile mile here 2 starts back when swooping hard to arrive on the wire. He found the line strongly last start after being buried in the run and can feature.

GREG THE GREAT (9) can be hard to catch but if on his game, this would be within reach. A winner here 4 starts back when charging home to score, his past 2 have been below par. He can improve.

SELECTIONS: JEDDY R YA READY (6), MUSCULUS (4), MELPARK MAGIC (3), GREG THE GREAT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: JEDDY R YA READY (6) to win

RACE FOUR

DOCTA FEELGOOD (9)
has been to the track on 2 occasions and showed good improvement between the 2. Closing nicely to grab the silver behind MANILA PLAYBOY on debut, he was beaten by the barrier and the tempo in the Breeders Consolation. The gate hurts, but he looks progressive enough to arrive.

LEFTMEATTHEBAR (2) found the front on debut last week from gate 3 when setting the tempo out in front. Trying to fight them off, he was nabbed near the line, holding on for the bronze in finishing 5m in arrears of the winner. He can build on the experience garnered from that outing here.

ROYAL PRINCESS (5) has been runner-up at each career start to date, the latest when she looked set to go straight on by, yet the winner kicked back to hold a half-neck margin. She can go close again.

COURAGEOUS SAM (4) will strip fitter following his run when down the line in the Breeders Consolation. Given over 7 weeks between starts, he was too far back and with the improved gate, stays under notice.

SELECTIONS: DOCTA FEELGOOD (9), LEFTMEATTHEBAR (2), ROYAL PRINCESS (5), COURAGEOUS SAM (4)
SUGGESTED BET: DOCTA FEELGOOD (9) to win

RACE FIVE

STREET APPEAL (1) was never in danger last week when leading throughout over the mile, ripping home the closing half in a sizzling 54.2. That had followed a comfortable victory in front over the 2138m. With the benefit of the ace gate again, he can pounce on the pegs and show them the target as he looks for his 8th victory here at The Creek.

TIZ A SIZZLER (6) was due to face-off against STREET APPEAL last week from gate 7, however was scratched from the event. In search of a hat-trick of his own, he was never out of cruise control last start in claiming victory over the 2138m. The gate stings, but he can look to throw down a challenge.

B MAC C (3) sat on the back of STREET APPEAL last start and tried to rally a challenge along the passing lane when 2m in arrears. Fitter after being 2nd up from a freshen in that, he can podium.

GUPTAS CULLEN (8) was obliged to do it the tough way last start and wasn’t too far away behind the winner MAFUTA VAUTIN. With the easy trail on offer here, she can look to chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: STREET APPEAL (1), TIZ A SIZZLER (6), B MAC C (3), GUPTAS CULLEN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 6 / 3-5-8

RACE SIX

GOLIGHTLY (9) showed the benefit of landing a good gate here on Friday when pressing forward to take control over the mile from gate 2. With a 2nd panel breather, it was dialled up and he was able to get home in 27.4 to take a 4m victory in the Gold Pot Final. The gate stings, yet he might just have enough of an edge on his rivals.

SUNNY RICE (1) worked forward to take up the lamp lighting duties last start over the mile and was left alone out in front. Setting a sharp tempo, she couldn’t see it out and was nabbed late, holding on for 2nd. The gate improvement is in her favour and she can look to get on the board.

OUR FRIEND (7) was sent forward from this gate last start over the sprint trip and grinding it out was in for the fight when 2m in arrears of the winner. He can do things wrong at the start, but is in the mix here with a safe getaway.

MISS BLUE GLORY (8) was angled to the pegs last start to look for the short-cuts and some luck. After the cosy trip, the luck didn’t arrive and she didn’t see space when only 4m away. With an economical trip, she will be probing for the gaps.

SELECTIONS: GOLIGHTLY (9), SUNNY RICE (1), OUR FRIEND (7), MISS BLUE GLORY (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

THE CRUISE MISSILE (9) started from gate 3 last start when eased to the pegs in a small 6-horse field. With STREET APPEAL dealing in front, he was able to find the line strongly, holding ground in the 54.2 closing half. That followed an all the way win over the mile and with the right run in transit can look to swoop to score.

BLACKJACK BART (1) took on the 3YO Triad Final last start and after repelling the early challenge, released to the star colt GOVERNOR JUJON. Chasing him home to hold on to the silver, he can look to fire out early here and yet to miss the board this season, will be right in the thick of the action.

TIMELESS APPEAL (4) snagged back last start as the filed settled into single file and she was too far back to take any ground off them behind STREET APPEAL. Only 4m in arrears of TIZ A SIZZLER the start prior, she can be thereabouts.

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (6) was sent to the breeze in the 4YO Triad Final last start and laying it down in strong sections, wasn’t disgraced as the swoopers arrived. The gate hurts, but he has claims.

SELECTIONS: THE CRUISE MISSILE (9), BLACKJACK BART (1), TIMELESS APPEAL (4), ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-6-9

RACE EIGHT

FIOKI (8) is flying and has been in the trifecta numbers at his past 6 in succession now. Pressing forward to find the front last start over the 2138m, he was able to keep the power on throughout and cruise him to a comfortable 6m victory. Following a smart beginner, he can take the snipers shot.

BIG BANG LEONARD (10) made the most of a good gate here on Sat night, pouncing on the pegs and taking them all the way in scoring a comfortable victory in smart time. Beaten by the gate against a similar field here 2 starts back, he will need to work at some stage but looks up to the challenge.

MAYWYNS BEST (7) doesn’t receive many favours from this gate, yet has been racing well from some tricky gates in recent outings. Luckless here 2 starts back when only beaten a head, he won’t be far away.

SABRAGE (9) eased from gate 5 last start before being sent to the breeze mid-race and then fading late under the pressure. Pressing through early here, he can look to chime in late.

SELECTIONS: FIOKI (8), BIG BANG LEONARD (10), MAYWYNS BEST (7), SABRAGE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: FIOKI (8) to win

RACE NINE

BLADE (8) has featured in a stable switch since his last appearance and will line up for the Jack Butler barn. Snagged from gate 5 last start over the mile, he was a long way back in the pack when hitting the line in good order behind OYSTER STRIDE. Needing some factors in his favour, he is worth a ticket.

HES OKEY DOKEY (1) settled in the running line from a 2nd line gate last time out when chasing in vain behind the star-in-waiting SPEECH IS SILVER. Setting the tempo, the start prior over this trip, a sharp 3rd panel didn’t leave him with enough to finish them off. This should be a slightly easier assignment.

EL GRAN SENOR (7) makes his Qld debut for Charlie Cini and arrives following a freshen since his last run at Shepparton. Down the line behind the gun LOCHINVAR ART in that run, he stays under notice 1st up.

JUMPING JOLT (5) wasn’t too far away behind LETTUCEFIRESTAR on Sat night, making some late ground in a sharp last stanza. Finding position cheaply will be key to his closing chances.

SELECTIONS: BLADE (8), HES OKEY DOKEY (1), EL GRAN SENOR (7), JUMPING JOLT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BLADE (8) to win

RACE TEN

CUT FROM ROCK (9) started from gate 10 here last week when looking to work home wide off the track. Looming up as she looked to have victory in her sights, she was thwarted by the passing lane winner LANCELOT BROMAC. There looks more front-end pressure in this contest and she can go one better.

REDS GOOD TO GO (2) started off the 2nd line in the 3YO Triad Consolation and was closing strongly to grab the silver behind the subsequent winner GLENEAGLE WARRIOR. Luckless the start prior when probing for an opening after being locked away, he can settle close enough to throw out the challenge.

MUMMYS BOY (6) was always facing a task when landing outside the 2nd line in the Triad Final and once GOVERNOR JUJON found the front with ease, the whole field was facing mission impossible. The gate is a stinger again here, but he is smart enough to feature.

LEFT A HURRIKANE (3) held the front from gate 1 here 2 starts back and once in control was able to fight them off. 3rd in the Triad Consolation last time out, he can look to fire the 1st shot here and will be right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: CUT FROM ROCK (9), REDS GOOD TO GO (2), MUMMYS BOY (6), LEFT A HURRIKANE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: CUT FROM ROCK (9) to win
