RACE TWO

BORSELLINO (3) was on debut at Newcastle over the 2030m against the older horses when sent to the post as the fav. After a torrid trip, he faded out to be near the rear of the pack. Trialling since that outing with a sharp hit out at Penrith, he heads North and can look for an immediate return.

SPEAK THE TRUTH (5) has been to the track on 2 occasions and placed on both occasions. Angled to the pegs last start from gate 10, he was buried away but when finding clear space was able to attack the line in nice fashion to be within 3m of the winner. With added experience, he can challenge.

ZARAS A TREASURE (6) resumed from a spell here last week when settling in the pocket trail from gate 1. Trying to make a closing play, she was 2m from the winner. The wide gate stings here.

TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (8) was returning from a let up here last start when eased from gate 5 and settling near the rear. Sound to the line, he comes up with 2nd line options to chime into the action.

SELECTIONS: BORSELLINO (3), SPEAK THE TRUTH (5), ZARAS A TREASURE (6), TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

MELPARK MAGIC (7)
faded after what looked a comfortable trip here on Saturday night but can bounce back here with a return to the 2138m. Over this trip 2 starts back he was hitting the line with gusto when 3m behind ORLANDO JOLT and receives a 20m swing on the handicaps here. With the right trip he gets a chance.

IL PIRATA (5) looks well positioned under these conditions to threaten his win drought that dates back almost 12 months. Making good metres in the latter stages 2 runs back when within 10m of the gun MAJESTIC SIMON, if he can trot cleanly with the right tow into this, he can make a challenge.

ORLANDO JOLT (12) is on the back-up from Saturday when again trying his luck in the open ranks. That followed successive wins over this trip and despite the 20m impost can make a play with the right cart home.

RITEUR (2) stepped out in Qld for the 1st time last start for the visiting Morris stable when settling in the 1x1 trail. Looming up in the stretch he was 3m in arrears of the winner. A Menangle winner the start prior, he stays in the mix.

SELECTIONS: MELPARK MAGIC (7), IL PIRATA (5), ORLANDO JOLT (12), RITEUR (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MELPARK MAGIC (7) to win

RACE FOUR

Tricky race here with a combined total in the field of 106 starts on this track for 4 wins. Thereabouts in recent starts BETTOR MEMORIES (9) eased from gate 5 last start before attacking the line in nice order over the 2138m trip when 5m from RAANI. Not far away in the 4YO mares Triad the start prior, she might have found her race.

MOTU AMETHYST (5) is one of the runners to have scored here at The Creek, boasting 2 of the 4 wins here from the field. Locked away from inside the 2nd line last start, she was shuffled back in transit and never got a shot at them. Limiting the burn in transit, this is well within reach.

BETTOR WATCH HIM (4) started from inside the 2nd line last time out when finishing 7m from COPPICE after the run in the trail. Runner-up at his previous 2 starts, he can be in the mix here.

HAPPY PUBLICANS (3) will make his 1st Qld appearance this campaign for visiting trainer John Boserio. Down the line in all 3 starts since returning from a spell, the winter sun can see him improve.

SELECTIONS: BETTOR MEMORIES (9), MOTU AMETHYST (5), BETTOR WATCH HIM (4), HAPPY PUBLICANS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR MEMORIES (9) to win

GENERAL MONTANA (2) will take good benefit from his 1st Australian appearance when tackling a strong Saturday night 3YO event. Eased from the widest gate, he sat at the rear and when he finally got to the outside to set out after the leaders, the race was gone. Strong to the line, he has the improved alley here to capitalise.

MISTERY ROAD (4) will take added benefit from his latest appearance when 3rd up from 12 months on the sidelines. Doing it hard in the run when holding on for the silver when 2nd up here at the mile, he was driven hard through a sub 27 opener 2nd up before finishing over the top. He might need to roll the sleeves again here.

UNCLE LUKEY (9) made his 1st appearance in Qld when showing some early hustle from gate 1 before opting for the trail. Only 1m from THE GROGFATHER in a sharp mile, he can be swooping off the speed here.

HEMSWORTH (8) had 4 starts in the South of NZ that included last start win at Gore before crossing the Tasman. With a slick pipe opening trial in readiness, the gate is a stinger 1st up here.

SELECTIONS: GENERAL MONTANA (2), MISTERY ROAD (4), UNCLE LUKEY (9), HEMSWORTH (8)
SUGGESTED BET: GENERAL MONTANA (2) to win

RACE SIX

FEELS LIKA BOSS (1)
is on the back-up from Friday night where he found suitable conditions to arrive for his 1st win this season. That was also his 2nd career victory after landing a debut win back in March 2020. He comes up trumps with the marble here and with the winning confidence matched with his gate speed, can go back-to-back.

NINA SIMONE (3) returns from a spell following a change of stables during the break. Stepping out for a lone start back in September in a 2YO event, she found the front and controlled it in front in claiming a narrow victory over DANCE IN THE SUN. With a tidy pipe opener at the trials, she can challenge fresh.

CROWN MOJO (10) sat in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line here 3 starts back and using the passing lane was within a half-head of the winner. Hitting the line strongly for the bronze last start, he can be chiming in.

SHEZ ALL STYLE (8) was not suited last start in the Trot Rods from a wide gate when she could not get hot from the get-go. A gritty 3rd to the subsequent winner RAANI 3 starts back, she has claims.

SELECTIONS: FEELS LIKA BOSS (1), NINA SIMONE (3), CROWN MOJO (10), SHEZ ALL STYLE (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

ITZ MAJOR RICH (2)
found the 1x1 trail here 3 starts back when holding on for the bronze behind DANCE IN THE SUN over the mile. Forced to hang tough in the breeze when 2m away at his next start, he found perfect conditions in front last time over this trip. From the gate he can look for a repeat.

LUVHAVINFUN (10) has been runner-up at 3 of her past 5 starts, the past 2 in succession. After 3 runs since arriving in Qld, she held on for 2nd in the Trot Rods behind the Series winner ADAM CROCKER and then was strong in the closing stages over the mile last start. With the right tempo, she can make a closing challenge.

CALL ME KEITH (12) found his race here 3 starts back when taking control from the front and taking the all the way in a smart mile. Making a mess of the start at his next run, he was game in defeat last start when sent to the breeze. He is in the mix again.

HELLO ITS ME (3) was returning from a spell here last week when eased from gate 7 over this trip. Making some nice metres over the closing stages, she will strip fitter and be chiming in again.

SELECTIONS: ITZ MAJOR RICH (2), LUVHAVINFUN (10), CALL ME KEITH (12), HELLO ITS ME (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ITZ MAJOR RICH (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

MOHS EM DOWN (10)
drops back to the claimers following his last appearance from gate 5 in Saturday night company where he was sound to the line in the closing stages when wide out. Forced to grind it out from the breeze the start prior when 8m from WITH THE BAND, this looks within reach.

CHANTREY (9) was runner-up here 3 starts back when firing to the front from gate 4 over this trip and finishing 1.5m in arrears of the winner. Gunned down in open company at Redcliffe at his next start he had to hang tough in the breeze last start over the mile. Despite the 2nd line he can challenge.

RUN BOY RUN (11) started from gate 9 last week in the mile event when he could have been much closer with a smoother passage. Finishing over the top at the trip 2 starts back, he can feature again.

CLARRY (6) dropped back to the claiming ranks here last week over the mile when easing from gate 7 to settle at the rear of the pack. The gate stings again here but look for him in the closing stages.

SELECTIONS: MOHS EM DOWN (10), CHANTREY (9), RUN BOY RUN (11), CLARRY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MOHS EM DOWN (10) to win

RACE NINE

After 3 starts since arriving in Qld, KATAMACH (9) should appreciate a return to the big oval for this assignment. Down the line over the 947m at Redcliffe last start as AQUA SANCTA set the speed, it followed a smart win when leading throughout over the mile. With the right trail through, she can arrive here.

OAXACAN DREAM (2) will take great benefit from her return from a spell here last start when tackling the mile. Settling back in the pack after easing from gate 5, she was strong to the line when 4m from the winner MISTERY ROAD. From the gate she can be at the pointy end to make her challenge.

AQUA SANCTA (11) has been in super touch with 4 wins from his past 5 starts and shoots for the hat-trick here. Claiming the Trot Rods final heat of the night when leading all the way last time out, he cannot be overlooked.

VIRGIL (5) started from a wide gate in a Trot Rods event last start when pressing forward and moving on to take the front, pulled clear to a dominant 11m victory. Back out to the 2138m, he stays in the mix.

SELECTIONS: KATAMACH (9), OAXACAN DREAM (2), AQUA SANCTA (11), VIRGIL (5)
SUGGESTED BET: KATAMACH (9) to win

RACE TEN

DELIGHTFUL MAJOR (3)
returned from a spell when landing gate 1 over the 2138m and form the pocket trail ran a tidy 3rd when 5m from WITH THE BAND. Hemmed away last start from inside the 2nd line, he attacked the line with gusto to grab the win. With the added fitness, he can look for a repeat victory.

PEMBROOKS PASSION (6) was sent forward from the five-hole over the mile last time out and doing it the tough way was able to fight them off to claim a 2m victory.  That was his 1st start in 4 months and will take plenty of benefit from the run. The gate stings again, but if it is too hot up front, he can arrive.

SQUIRE (1) lands his best gate for some time and with the ace comes the options. A gritty 2nd from the breeze behind subsequent winner SCARLET BABE 2 starts back, he can be in the mix in this.

COMMODORE JUJON (2) was angled to the pegs from the 2nd line here 2 starts back to hope for some luck and it arrived as he continued to follow the pegs all the way to arrive for a last stride win. He is in the mix again from this alley.

SELECTIONS: DELIGHTFUL MAJOR (3), PEMBROOKS PASSION (7), SQUIRE (1), COMMODORE JUJON (2)
SUGGESTED BET:
