RACE TWO

VIENNA BOY (4) was in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start as IT AINT THE MONEY had the power on throughout. Holding on for the bronze, it followed a luckless effort from the 2nd line over the 2138m trip. A passing lane winner 3 starts back, he can be closed enough to capitalise here.

GELDOF (2) will take benefit from his 1st Qld appearance which followed a five-week break between outings. Holding the 1x1 trail, he could not go with them as JUMPING JACK JIMMY powered home to a sharp win in a qualifier. Settling close to the action from this alley can see him throw down a challenge.

YUKO (5) had no luck at all here last start when striking trouble in the run when midfield behind BITCOIN. Grabbing the bronze, the start prior, with better luck she can feature in this.

ONE OFF (9) angled to the pegs last start from the 2nd line to look for short-cuts as he chased home behind BITCOIN. Buried away the start prior at Redcliffe, he can follow through to be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: VIENNA BOY (4), GELDOF (2), YUKO (5), ONE OFF (9)
SUGGESTED BET: VIENNA BOY (4) to win

RACE THREE

The third heat of the Young drivers Championship after two heats were decided at Redcliffe on Wed night. Despite the sticky alley, HOT N GOLD (6) might be the one to stop here after a smart effort when 1st up in Qld. Doing some work from gate 5 before holding on for 2nd behind subsequent winner ITZ MAJOR RICH, she can go one better here.

NOT THE KINGSWOOD (3) had been building towards a victory after 3 successive placed outings and franked that when powering home over the top to claim a stylish win. Taking his 1st look at the 2138m trip last start, he was snagged back before closing out in smart fashion when 6m from the winner RAANI. He can go close here.

RUNFORTHEROSES (1) tried to take them all the way last start from gate 3 in a mare’s qualifier but could not see it out when down the line behind LILYMADIMAC. From the gate she can be sharper.

CANSTAR (7) makes her 1st appearance in Qld for trainer Lachie Manzelmann and arrives a five-time winner. With a pair of smart trials in readiness for this 1st outing, she stays under notice.

SELECTIONS: HOT N GOLD (6), NOT THE KINGSWOOD (3), RUNFORTHEROSES (1), CANSTAR (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

KATACHA MAN (9)
has been runner-up a his past 2 starts, the latest when working home from this same gate when 2m in arrears of the winner NO DOUBT. Wide off the track the start prior when attacking the line strongly, he was only a head away behind ARK ME. With the light trail through, he can arrive.

IDEAL TIGER (1) has been in the money at 5 of his past 7 starts, the latest when working hard in the run after occupying the death seat over the Marburg 2200m. In for the fight when 5m from the winner, it followed a midfield effort from three pegs over this trip, From the gate he can challenge.

ARK ME (6) started from the 2nd line here 2 starts back and had the power to finish over the top of them to score. Finding the front in a Trot Rods scamper last start when gunned down by BARKWAY ARNOLD, she can chime in here.

YEP GOT CHOOKS (7) shoots for the hat-trick after a pair of wins under the Trot Rods format. Leading throughout last start, he has no favours from the gate but has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: KATACHA MAN (9), IDEAL TIGER (1), ARK ME (6), YEP GOT CHOOKS (7)
SUGGESTED BET: KATACHA MAN (9) to win

RACE FIVE

MAYWYN TROUBADOR (3) was not suited by a wide gate over the 2138m 2 starts back and appreciated a return to the mile last time out. Firing off the arm to take control, he was trying to see it out when nabbed late, beaten a neck margin. He can fire off the arm and look to take control.

ATOMIC BOMBSHELL (2) took on a mare’s qualifier last start from gate 1. From the pocket trail she could not go with them in the latter stages when down the line behind LILYMADIMAC. Beaten by the 2nd line at Marburg the start prior, she has the early bullets to fire and then make a challenge.

LIVING GRAND (6) was doing it the tough way 2 starts back and grinding it out over the Redcliffe sprint trip was 3m in arrears of the winner. Midfield last start when cutting the breeze, he might need to roll the sleeves again here.

SIGNOR JUJON (8) was sent forward from a wide gate here 2 starts back and despite working in the run was in for the fight when grabbing the silver. He will need a rub of the green here but will be probing.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYN TROUBADOR (3), ATOMIC BOMBSHELL (2), LIVING GRAND (6), SIGNOR JUJON (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYN TROUBADOR (3) to win

RACE SIX

LADY AVANA (7)
is a quality 3YO filly that steps out for the Leading Dixon stable for the first time, arriving from the Shaky Isles with 2 wins and 2 minors in 10 starts. Tackling the top fillies of her age right through her career, her preparatory trial was a real eye-catcher, and she can strike fresh despite the horrid gate.

GLENLEDI COMMANDER (4) started from inside the 2nd line last start and as soon angled away from the pegs but could not go with them in the closing stages. Not too far away in a stronger race the start prior over the mile, he can fire some early bullets to make a challenge for supremacy here.

ONE LAST ROLL (8) has placed in all 4 starts since resuming from a spell, the latest when sent to the post as fav and finishing 2.5m in arrears of the winner MISS MIA. He will be probing for gaps here.

MANOFLISA (1) is on the short back-up from Wed night where he again looked a chance to be in the money. Runner-up at Redcliffe 3 starts back when working wide off the track, the gate is a big plus.

SELECTIONS: LADY AVANA (7), GLENLEDI COMMANDER (4), ONE LAST ROLL (8), MANOFLISA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LADY AVANA (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

THE RACONTEUR (4)
will strip fitter from his 1st outing in Qld where he was asked to hang tough in the death seat as ANOTHER STATEMENT controlled it in front. Holding on for the silver in a gritty performance, he looks well-placed in these conditions to dictate the tale here.

UNCLE LUKEY (6) was settled back in the pack here on Tuesday and facing a task to chase as GENERAL MONTANA dictated in front. Runner-up here the start prior behind THE GROGFATHER, he looks better suited under these conditions and despite the gate can make a challenge.

SWEET LOMBO (9) tackled the Triad consolation last start when attacking the line from a long way back in the pack to be 6m from the winner. With the right trail through he can be chiming in.

MULLUM FLO (1) caught the eye on debut when charging home from back in the pack to grab the bronze. This is a tougher battle, but with the good alley and added experience, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: THE RACONTEUR (4), UNCLE LUKEY (6), SWEET LOMBO (9), MULLUM FLO (1)
SUGGESTED BET: THE RACONTEUR (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

PRINCESS FAITH (11)
was safely away from the tapes here last start and was soon in a perfect stalking position in the running line. Driving a patient race, when the trigger was pulled, she loomed up, cruised by, and was eased down to an easy win. With the right trip from the tough gate, she can arrive once again.

JUST CALL ME MOLLY (6) will take benefit from her latest outing where she was first up since August last year. Makin an error in the run, she was banished to the trials and has earned the return with a sound hit out. She can do plenty wrong, but if she can trot cleanly, this is the type of race that suits.

IMA CALVERT ROSE (5) will appreciate the mobile conditions here with all 5 of her career wins coming from this starting format. Making an error last start that ended her chances, she cannot be ignored in this.

SPIDERS DEVIL (7) could not get warm last start from the big 50m impost when down the line. That followed a pair of placings and despite the wide gate he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: PRINCESS FAITH (11), JUST CALL ME MOLLY (6), IMA CALVERT ROSE (5), SPIDERS DEVIL (7)
SUGGESTED BET: PRINCESS FAITH (11) to win

RACE NINE

IGNITE (5) returned from a spell with a tidy effort when not too far from IM THE COMMANDO. Appreciating a return to his own age 2nd up, he had the closing speed to arrive for a tidy win. Doing some work in the run last start when 3rd behind HURRIKANE SPIRIT, with added fitness he can arrive.

OKANAGAN (2) was sent to the post as fav last time out and after stepping cleanly then made an error that ended his chances. Runner-up at both previous starts against his own age, he finds those conditions again here and will get his chance to throw down the challenge.

HURRIKANE SPIRIT (6) was 2nd up from a break when settling back in the pack over this trip. Attacking the line strongly over the closing stages, he arrived to claim a smart win and trotting cleanly can repeat.

SELECTIONS: IGNITE (5), OKANAGAN (2), HURRIKANE SPIRIT (6)
SUGGESTED BET: IGNITE (5) to win
