RACE ONE

GHENT (8) has faced the starter 5 times since arriving in Qld and been down the line in each. He struck NEEDLE in both heats of the McNeil and 4 back took on a much stronger race taken out by MAYBETOTHEMAX. This field looks more suitable and he can be a big improver.

ASTRAL RULER (9) was buried away on the pegs last start after starting from a 20m mark and was finding the line best of the chasing pack. That followed a tidy effort when 9m from ZAIRE DIVA and a win is just around the corner.

RACE TWO

MISS MONEYBAGS (6) looks to maintain her unbeaten record after winning both starts to date including the Paleface Adios Classic at her last start when working hard in the run and proving too strong. The wide gate will test her, but with further progression she can go 3 for 3.

THATS BETTOR (5) made her debut in fine style when holding the front off gate 1 and after a comfortable opening 800m was able to get home in 57.2- nice going first up. With improvement off that and able to find position without getting too far back, she will be in the mix again.

RACE THREE

BETTOR WATCH HIM (9) was clinical in putting them away at his Qld debut at Redcliffe last start when settling in the running line and then finishing over the top for a comfortable victory. With the benefit of that run, he looks to have their measure again in this.

LOCKTON ART (3) held the front last start from gate 1 and was looking to take them all the way over the 2138m trip. Setting a strong tempo she couldn’t see it out and was grabbed late. She can secure running line position here and back to the mile will be in the mix.

RACE FOUR

NOTMUCHUPTOP (2) was a winner at his final start of his 2YO term when leading all the way from gate 1 at Redcliffe. From 2 runs back at 3YO he has landed gates 5 and 7 and been back in the pack when chasing home MAYWYNS COURAGE and DARBY BRIGHTS. Fitter and from the improved gate he gets his chance.

GETINANHANGON (6) is starting to put it together and has been top 3 in his past 3 in succession. 2 starts back at Redcliffe he found a good target and finished best to break the maiden and last start was luckless off gate 7. He won’t be far away here.

RACE FIVE

THUNDER MAC (5) was freshened after a tidy effort here back in January when 4^th to SPEEDIE MCARDLE. His past 2 starts since returning have both been in northern NSW where he has struck trouble in the run at Inverell and Armidale. His trial to earn a ticket back to the races was good and he can feature here in an open contest.

NOVENA ROSE (3) makes her Qld debut and will be 1^st up since Sept. Trialling twice to prepare for her return, the first was  nice effort from gate 7 while she struck trouble in the 2^nd hit-out. Her better wins have been over the middle-distance but 1^st up over the 2138m is a concern. Stays under notice.

RACE SIX

ALWAYS BAD (12) has the tough gate to overcome but gets in here on a big class drop. 2 starts back he took on claiming company at Menangle when buried away on the fence and last start in a 2^nd division qualifier was luckless from this same gate. His numbers aren’t great but he can bob-up here.

MINI CAM (1) has been off the 2^nd row at his past 4 starts and been trying to work into the contest wide off the track each time. With the speed to hold the front, he can look to take them all the way and will be gripping on.

RACE SEVEN

WESTERN COVE (1) comes out of the same trial as HEZ RAZOR SHARP and was only beaten 8.5m in that hit-out. He folded up in front at his Qld debut last start but with that trial following his 1^st outing, if he can get the front he will have them chasing.

CHANGEOVERME (9) has returned from a break in good style and scored victory in 2 of his 3 runs back. Last start he used the passing lane to arrive in time for victory, running a sharp closing panel. He will need a slice of luck from the gate, but is right in the mix.

RACE EIGHT

COMPLY OR DIE (7) is flying in theses claiming mile races and despite the wide gate it will likely be handlebars down again and look for the pegs. He has 4 wins in his past 8 starts with all of those coming when leading them up. He fought them off last start and will be trying to do it again.

INA GREAT PLACE (6) shoots for the hat-trick after sweeping the latest King of the Claimers Series, both times grinding his way from the breeze to victory. In the final he started from gate 7 and worked across to land a strong victory over the 2138m trip. He will apply the acid again.

RACE NINE

LUCIFERS LEGEND (2) ran some sizzling closing sectionals last start when working home wide off the track to grab 4^th behind CIRCLE LINE. He was luckless 2 starts back when 2^nd up from a spell when unable to find position. He can look to cross to the pegs and if not overtaxed early can fight them off in a very strong race.

ELENIARK (7) was brave again last start and carted LUCIFERS LEGEND into the race when setting some slick closing panels. That followed successive wins and if she can work into this without the need to work too hard, she can issue a strong challenge.
