RACE TWO

OPONONIS BLISS (2) has started 3 times since returning from a break, returning a lone placing at her 1st up run. That was a nice effort when leading them up over the mile and holding on for 2nd to TROJAN BANNER. Forgive her last start when she was burnt in a 26.1 opener, she can bounce back.

TASSINI (5) was buried away on the pegs last start from the 2nd line and was attacking the line strongly in the closing stages to be 5m from the winner in a mares qualifier. The start prior taking on a qualifier she was only 4m from GOTTA GOOD REASON and if run to suit can give this a shake.

MAMMALS MAGIC (11) started from this gate last week and was working home wide off the track and the tempo was making it hard for the chasers. With a cart into the contest she can chime in.

LETHAL STAR (4) was buried away over the 2138m trip 2 starts back and was closing out strongly when only beaten 2m. She found the line nicely again last start and will be in the mix again here.

SELECTIONS: OPONONIS BLISS (2), TASSINI (5), MAMMALS MAGIC (11), LETHAL STAR (4)
SUGGESTED BET: OPONONIS BLISS (2) to win

RACE THREE

ARGYLE BEACH (6) was shooting for a hat-trick of victories last start and in a strongly run mile was able to secure the perfect run in transit. Looming up strongly she hit the front and then was grabbed on the line by TULHURST ACE. Her previous 2 wins were from the stand and she can arrive here.

LINCOLN ROAD (8) started from gate 12 last start and was working home wide off the track when losing no admirers with a solid finish to be 3m from the winner THE SHADY ONE. Too slick in front the start prior, he has the benefit of options as the lone 2nd line runner and can challenge here.

MANDY KRIDEN (7) has been taking on the open class ranks and been competing strongly without being able to crack a win. Beaten no further than 5m at her past 5 starts, look for the grey swooping.

ITS JUST KENNY (4) started from gate 12 last start and was angled to the pegs looking for luck. It never arrived but he went to the line hard held within 10m of the winner TULHURST ACE. He has claims.

SELECTIONS: ARGYLE BEACH (6), LINCOLN ROAD (8), MANDY KRIDEN (7), ITS JUST KENNY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ARGYLE BEACH (6) to win

RACE FOUR

PSYCHEDELIC (7)
has the tricky gate to overcome here but he was able to overcome a similar impediment last start in securing a 3m victory. Taken back early in that contest, he packed too many bullets in the closing stages to secure a stylish victory. With plenty of tempo in this, he can swoop.

BRIAN WHO (2) has grabbed bronze at his past 2 starts and while this is a rise in class of what he has been facing, he looks set to get a perfect run in transit. Last start he was hitting the line strongly from a long way back when 2m in arrears of HIPSTAR and saved for one shot can go close.

VASARI (1) was having his 2nd Qld start when taking on the 2138m trip last time out. Sent to the front from gate 3 he was keen in front and broke clear in a sizzling tempo. The run was solid under the circumstances and can give them something to chase here.

SKYFELLA CAM (8) covered plenty of the track here 2 starts back and was still giving on the line when 3rd to GOTTA GOOD REASON. With a perfect trail on offer, he will be coiled and ready to strike.

SELECTIONS: PSYCHEDELIC (7), BRIAN WHO (2), VASARI (1), SKYFELLA CAM (8)
SUGGESTED BET: PSYCHEDELIC (7) to win

RACE FIVE

THE SHADY ONE (3) was able to grab the bronze last start in a solid effort. Missing away from the tapes, he was forced to chase and then with the right cart into the contest was hitting the line strongly in a sharp closing panel to be 5m from the winner. That followed successive victories and the move to the front line is a big plus here.

ALLELUIA (8) was 2nd in this race last year from the 20m tape and he will look to go one-better in 2019 from the same mark. Sent to the breeze from a 30m impost last week, he was in for the fight and fought gamely when 4m from the winner. His stand record is excellent and he is huge danger.

WATCH PULP FICTION (10) hasnt been seen behind the tapes since this race last year, however his recent form is strong including a last start victory. Hustling early to protect the pegs he packed too many guns in front, zipping home in 27.3 to claim the prize. Just needs to weave a passage.

MO CASINO (5) pinged the tapes here last week and once in control from the front had them chasing all the way, zipping home in 27.4 to score. This is a big step up from that win, however bringing those manners will go a long way here.

SELECTIONS: THE SHADY ONE (3), ALLELUIA (8), WATCH PULP FICTION (10), MO CASINO (5)
SUGGESTED BET: THE SHADY ONE (3)

RACE SIX

TULHURST ACE (10)
was the recipient of an inch-perfect drive last week when put into clear space with 75m left to travel, he had the speed to arrive for the prize. In great form since arriving in Qld, he was game in defeat 2 starts back from the breeze after blowing them away in a qualifier. He looks too strong for these.

IM FREE FALLING (8) has taken on the claiming ranks at his past 2 starts winning over the mile trip 2 back. Buried on the pegs he sprinted sharply when the gaps arrived to claim a half-head victory. Too far back after retreating from gate 6 last start, he will get the perfect trip here and be launching late.

PROFICIENT (9) is in nice touch and on Tuesday put up a strong effort when facing the breeze throughout the 2138m trip. In for the fight he was only 4m from the winner TENNYSON BROMAC and can chime in here.

SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (1) will need to hustle early but if able to protect the pegs, will be in the right position in this race. Gunned down last start from the front, he will be gripping on.

SELECTIONS: TULHURST ACE (10), IM FREE FALLING (8), PROFICIENT (9), SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TULHURST ACE (10) to win

RACE SEVEN

GETINANHANGON (6) has the wide gate to overcome here, but strikes a race no harder than what he has been facing and with the right run in transit can arrive for the prize. A Marburg winner 2 starts back from a position they just don’t win from, he was game last start in the breeze.

WEE JIMMY (4) was locked away on the pegs at Redcliffe 3 starts back when finding the line in good order to grab the bronze in strong time around the triangle. A strong 2nd after missing the start from the tapes at his next run, he didn’t have much luck last time out and can feature in this line-up.

SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (9) worked home in good order from the 2nd line at Redcliffe last start to grab the bronze. He couldn’t find position here 2 starts back and with better luck in transit is in the mix.

FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (10) started from gate 12 in a similar race 3 starts back and tracked home strongly to hold on for 3rd. Strong from the breeze last start in a 2nd division qualifier, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: GETINANHANGON (6), WEE JIMMY (4), SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (9), FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: GETINANHANGON (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

SECRET JACK (3)
rolled forward from the 2nd line over the 2138m here 3 starts back to face the breeze and was in for the fight when holding on for the silver behind COLT THIRTY ONE. Starting fav at his next start, he just worked too hard and then last start was luckless. He can bounce back here.

ELENIARK (7) resumed from a 20m tape last time out in a standing start race and was well back in the pack and with a closing split of 27.4 run from the front was always going to struggle to make up the deficit. With the added fitness and the return to the mobile conditions, she will be swooping.

TOM ME GUN (5) started from gate 6 last start when taken back early to find position over the mile. Leading the 3-wide train, he fought hard when 6m from the winner. Huge in defeat the start prior, he can throw down the challenge here.

ROCK WITH SAM (4) worked home well to claim victory over the 2138m here 3 starts back and followed that with a luckless run when too far back. Beaten a flared nostril last start, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SECRET JACK (3), ELENIARK (7), TOM ME GUN (5), ROCK WITH SAM (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

Going wide here and throwing one in at huge odds with the thinking that a return to the front line might be what MR MAYFLY (2) has been looking for. Starting from 30m last start under the conditions he found the line fairly. That run was 2nd up but 5 weeks after his 1st up run and thought an each-way ticket is worthy.

MAYBETOTHEMAX (8)
put the writing on the wall that a win wasn’t far away with a pair of sharp performances when 1st up in a 2680m mobile and then 2nd up in a 2138m stand That was franked when he capitalised over the mobile mile last time when finishing over the top to score. Threat.

NEEDLE (7) was sent forward from the 2nd line over the marathon mobile trip last start and working to the front was only grabbed right on the wire. A consistent mare, she will be right in the fight.

OUR OVERANOVA (9) rolled to the breeze over the mobile mile last start and was in for the fight when beaten 5m. His record over this trip and conditions is superb and he will be right there.

SELECTIONS: MR MAYFLY (2), MAYBETOTHEMAX (8), NEEDLE (7), OUR OVERANOVA (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MR MAYFLY (2) each-way

RACE TEN

GOTTA GO JAZZY JET (6)
will strip fitter following her return from a long break and 1st run in Qld. Starting from gate 12 over the mile she was sent 3-wide at the 1100m and tracked up strongly wide out. Still fighting on the line, she was beaten a pimple in a strong mile and can go one better here.

IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (2) settled in the 1x1 trail last time out over the mile and was strong to the line in a slick closing panel when 6m from the winner PARISIIAN ROCKSTAR who was able to dictate from the front.  From the gate she can be settled handy to the speed and issue a closing challenge.

RED CHARMER (7) started from this gate last start and was able to find position quickly before finishing mid-field. That followed a tough run when facing the breeze and she has place hopes here.

JOSSIE JAMES (4) was finding the line strongly last start to grab the silver when beaten a head behind A GOOD CHANCE in a sub 1.52 mile. Needing conditions to suit, look for her swooping late.

SELECTIONS: GOTTA GO JAZZY JET (6), IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (2), RED CHARMER (7), JOSSIE JAMES (4)
SUGGESTED BET: GOTTA GO JAZZY JET (6) to win
