RACE TWO

TOM ME GUN (11) comes up with the tough gate here, but he looks to have the form and the class to overcome his opponents here. Charging home from back in the pack 2 starts back, he was strong in a slick last 800m. Within 3m of ELENIARK last start after an early burn, he looks the goods.

CLARKEY (3) has claimed the bronze at both starts since resuming from a spell with the latest when 2m from the winner LINCOLN ROAD. Settling in the pocket trail when resuming, he was 5m from the winner HUGHIE GREEN and looking the pick of the front line, can look to end a long winless streak.

OUTLAW FELLA (7) doesn’t have many favours from the wide gate here, but he might just be set alight early to find a forward position. Sent forward last start from the 2nd line he was beaten a neck.

TRILIGHT BRIGADE (10) took the pocket trail last start when finishing 3m from the winner ANNIKA MAGIC via the passing lane. With even luck in transit she can chime in during the latter stages.

SELECTIONS: TOM ME GUN (11), CLARKEY (3), OUTLAW FELLA (7), TRILIGHT BRIGADE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: TOM ME GUN (11) to win

RACE THREE

BEE GEES BANDIT (11) started from gate 7 last start and settling back in the pack, came with a wide run to arrive for the prize and claim a 2m victory over the 2138m. Made an ODM following his run 2 starts back when he took no part, he can be given time to balance up and looks too strong for these.

LIVING GRAND (1) started from gate 11 last start and was wide off the track when looking to work home into the contest. That followed a similar run when trying to make ground from a long way back. With the improved gate he can look to hustle hard and will be in for the fight.

LITTLE CHANGE (2) held the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start and used the passing lane to get within 2m of the winner. He can settle handy again here and can challenge.

OUR MEMPHIS MAC (10) shoots for the hat-trick after wins at the mile and then the 2138m. Starting from inside the 2nd line in both, he has been able to swoop hard to score. With a soft trip, look for him launching late.

SELECTIONS: BEE GEES BANDIT (11), LIVING GRAND (1), LITTLE CHANGE (2), OUR MEMPHIS MAC (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BEE GEES BANDIT (11) to win

RACE FOUR

MR KALYPSO (12)
resumes from a spell following just a 3 start campaign last time in. Looking to make it 8 consecutive wins when resuming last time, he fell 2m short after starting from the 2nd line. Scoring up the passing lane when 2nd up, he has trialled twice in preparation and looks hard to stop.

RAYS CHOICE (3) is racing in good touch and last start after crossing to the pegs 1st, then released and with the trail held on for the silver behind COREY WILLIAM. Luckless the start prior when having an early look and then not seeing any gaps, he can fire out early here and is in the mix.

PSYCHEDELIC (2) was taken back from gate 7 last start over the mile and was too far back to get into the contest. A sharp winner from well back the start prior, he can settle handy here and can feature.

OUR BONDI BEACH (1) led them up from gate 2 at Redcliffe over the sprint trip last start and setting a slick closing 800m was grabbed in the closing stages. With the right trip he can chime in late here.

SELECTIONS: MR KALYPSO (12), RAYS CHOICE (3), PSYCHEDELIC (2), OUR BONDI BEACH (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MR KALYPSO (12) to win

RACE FIVE

A GOOD CHANCE (7) is in great touch at present even without having much luck in drawing a marble. 2 starts back from gate 10, he arrived to claim a career best mile of 1.51.9 and then last start was forced to roll the sleeves when 3m from TULHURST ACE, fighting hard in a slick mile. In a race full of chances, he might just be able to overcome the gate.

ELENIARK (3) made the most of a small field last start and rattling off some smart closing panels was able to arrive for the prize. Stripping fitter for that run after being 2nd up from a break, her 1st up run had merit at her 1st attempt from the stand start. With the good gate she is right in the fight here.

THE SHADY ONE (4) made a mess of the start when the tapes released last start. Set a task thereafter, the run had merit under the circumstances. Back to mobile conditions suit.

HASHTAG (1) found a much easier contest last start and was able to take full advantage to claim a confidence boosting win, running a smart closing 800m. With the options, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: A GOOD CHANCE (7), ELENIARK (3), THE SHADY ONE (4), HASHTAG (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

LILAC FLASH (5)
returns from a successful Melbourne trip where he was able to claim victory in both races he contested, including a FFA win when attacking the line strongly. With his past 3 wins all at the mile, he gets back to what is probably his better trip of 2138m and he looks hard to stop.

COLT THIRTY ONE (8) comes up with a tricky gate here and looks set to snag back to get away from the pegs or risk a pocket and hope for luck. Rolling to the breeze from gate 7 last start over the mile, he was in for the fight when 3m from JILLIBY BANDIT. That followed a hat-trick and he will be there.

GLENFERRIE HOOD (7) returns to mobile conditions which will suit his style, despite coming up with the wide gate. Grabbed in the closing strides by BEAVER 2 starts back, he will be in the thick of it.

LINCOLN ROAD (2) steps up to take on the ‘big boys’ here and lands the advantage of the gate. From the two-hole, he can look to be 1st to the pegs and with the options thereafter is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: LILAC FLASH (5), COLT THIRTY ONE (8), GLENFERRIE HOOD (7), LINCOLN ROAD (2)
SUGGESTED BET: LILAC FLASH (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

ASHKII (4) was a winner at his Qld debut 4 starts back when getting to the front from gate 4 and keeping the power on all the way. A short-priced fav when 2nd up, he was 8m from the winner SUR LE FEU. His past 2 have been from the 2nd line and in this line-up off the front can bounce back.

IMA TOP TYCOON (9) had faced some tough runs in recent starts, yet the effort was solid and 2 starts back he was in for the fight through a solid closing 800m when holding on for the bronze. Capitalising off a solid tempo on Wed night at Redcliffe, he arrived for a smart win and can go close.

TELL THE LINESMEN (10) started fav from inside the 2nd line 2 starts back yet didn’t have the speed to protect the position behind the leader. Only 9m away last start in sharp time, he is in the mix.

THE IDEAL DANCER (6) started from gate 12 last start and was a long way back in the pack when hitting the line strongly to be 4m from the winner. With even luck in transit he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: ASHKII (4), IMA TOP TYCOON (9), TELL THE LINESMEN (10), THE IDEAL DANCER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ASHKII (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

MAMMALS MAGIC (9)
has been crying out to get a barrier in these mares races and although she will face the 2nd line again, she looks to have the class to overcome it this week. From gate 11 last start a sub 55 last 800m was not enough with the tempo controlled from the front. She can take this.

SOULWRITER (4) made a winning start to her Qld career when taking them all the way over the 2138m, taking the scalp of the classy 3YO ESCALERA in the process. Taking on a mares qualifier last start she led them deep into the stretch and was grabbed late, beaten a head. She will be fighting.

CHARLYSE (6) found the line strongly from back in the pack to claim a 2nd division qualifier here 3 starts back. Luckless at her next start, she was too far back last start from gate 7. Place claims here.

JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (3) took on a mares race here on Tues and from gate 4 was taken back early and ended up a long way back, making it a hard chase. Settling closer here she can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: MAMMALS MAGIC (9), SOULWRITER (4), CHARLYSE (6), JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MAMMALS MAGIC (9) to win

RACE NINE

GOOD AS IT GETS (1)
hit the line nicely after being buried away in the Breeders Consolation and followed that with a tough effort from the breeze when fighting on for 3rd. Making the most of his chances last start he packed too many guns to score a strong 5m win. He looks hard to stop here.

DATALDO (2) has been kept fresh since QBred night and comes into this off a strong last start 2nd in the Breeders Consolation where he was forced to cut the breeze and fought gamely to get within 1m of the winner. That followed a smart win 4 days earlier and with the experience he can challenge.

MEGA STAR (4) resumes from a spell with his last appearance coming when scoring a stylish win back on Mar 27. Hitting the line strongly from back in the pack it was a nice win and he has claims.

REDS GOOD TO GO (7) was able to find the pocket trail from gate 5 last start and with the cosy trip used the passing lane to take the prize. The gate hurts but he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: GOOD AS IT GETS (1), DATALDO (2), MEGA STAR (4), REDS GOOD TO GO (7)
SUGGESTED BET: GOOD AS IT GETS (1) to win

RACE TEN

AMAYA BECOMES (4)
was a passing lane winner on debut when hitting the line in nice style, she then went to the Breeders Classic where she worked home strongly from back in the pack to score a 4m victory. Kept fresh since that win she can keep her perfect record in tact here to go 3 for 3.

GIRL ON THE GO (2) broke through for her 1st career victory at start number 3 last time out when making full use of the passing lane to arrive for a half-head victory. Locked away on the pegs when 2nd up and finishing a 6m 3rd, she can build on the victory here.

SUGARKANE (3) had no luck on debut when striking trouble and then 2nd up was grabbed right on the wire up the passing lane. Cashing in here on Tues, she will take confidence from that.

TOANU SPIRIT (6) has placed in 4 of 7 appearances here at AP, with her last start a strong effort when leading them up and only grabbed right on the wire. Despite the gate she can challenge.

SELECTIONS: AMAYA BECOMES (4), GIRL ON THE GO (2), SUGARKANE (3), TOANU SPIRIT (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE ELEVEN

NEEDLE (9)
has been a beaten fav at her past 3 appearances, yet has been brave on each occasion. 2 starts back over the marathon mobile trip she was sent to the front from the 2nd line and was only grabbed in the last stride. Only a neck away last start, she can go one better this week.

SOUTHERN ALPS (3) finally put it all together here on Tues after a smart start saw him land in a perfect position in transit. Taking the final shot up the passing lane he packed too many bullets to score. With the winning confidence back, he can look to make it 2 in a week.

SPUD (7) took on the mobile mile 2 starts back and was attacking the line strongly when within 2m of victory. Not far away last start after being sent forward early, he will be in the mix again here.

MAYBETOTHEMAX (10) shoots for the hat-trick after wins at the mobile mile and then the 2647m stand. He was tough from the 20m last start when sent to the breeze, the extra 10m might just be too much.

SELECTIONS: NEEDLE (9), SOUTHERN ALPS (3), SPUD (7), MAYBETOTHEMAX (10)
SUGGESTED BET: NEEDLE (9) to win
