RACE TWO

DONOMOOR (2) struck trouble here last start which ended his chances and saw him finish down the line. That was his 1st start back from a break with his form leading into the spell dictated by a string of bad barriers. With good speed off the arm, he can fire the early shot to take control here.

CAVALRYMAN (6) started from gate 12 last start at AP and after settling in the running line was hitting the line in good order to grab the bronze. A long way back in the pack 2 starts back, he returns to the main draw following a barrier indiscretion, but will need plenty of luck from this alley.

IMPETUOSO (3) returns to the Ken Belford team and will be 1st up since December. He comes into the contest without a trial, so fitness is a key query, yet from the gate he is in the mix.

ARES (8) was forced to do plenty of work here last start and it took its toll as he faded in the closing stages. He can settle in a handy spot from this gate and chime into the exotics with even luck.

SELECTIONS: DONOMOOR (2), CAVALRYMAN (6), IMPETUOSO (3), ARES (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

MINION GIRL (2) speared across from gate 4 to find the pegs 1st at Redcliffe 5 starts back and once in control, led throughout. Grabbed in the closing stages at her next outing when 4m in arrears, she has met stronger line-ups at her past 3. Back to this grade from the gate she can get the bananas.

WAVEDANCER (7) makes his Marburg debut and from the gate should be able to press through early to settle in a handy position. Only beaten a head at Redcliffe 3 starts back when closing out strongly in the latter stages, he has been too far back his past 2 to work into the contest. He can challenge.

MOLLIGUANNA (1) was a winner here 5 starts back when working home in good order wide off the track. Struggling to find the right conditions since that win, she will get a great trip here.

PAQUIN (6) started from gate 1 at Armidale 3 starts back and from the pocket trail was probing for openings in finishing 9m from the winner. With a slice of luck, she will be looking for open space.

SELECTIONS: MINION GIRL (2), WAVEDANCER (7), MOLLIGUANNA (1), PAQUIN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MINION GIRL (2) to win

RACE FOUR

MAJOR SLIP UP (1)
was a winner here 3 starts back when rolling across from gate 4 and proving too strong from the breeze, pulling clear to an 8m victory. He followed that with another tough run when holding on to 4th and while he will need to hustle here, can protect the pegs and dictate.

RANCHO MAN (2) was buried away from gate 1 over the AP mile 3 starts back and used the passing lane to grab the bronze behind TIMELESS APPEAL. Freshened since his last outing in the Triad Consolation when finishing mid-field from gate 5, he can fire an early shot here and has claims.

COBALT BLUES (7) has been runner-up on 2 of his past 3 appearances, the latest when using the passing lane at Redcliffe to get within a neck of victory. Still looking for a maiden breaking win, he can place here.

SHESFEELINPRECIOUS (5) lands another wide gate here and will need to have a slice of luck in transit. The best of the rest behind the big winner ACE MONTANA here 2 starts back, she is an exotic hope.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR SLIP UP (1), RANCHO MAN (2), COBALT BLUES (7), SHESFEELINPRECIOUS (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR SLIP UP (1) to win

RACE FIVE

MORROCH BAY (1) steps out at Marburg for the 1st time and lands the right gate for the tight track to get forward early. An AP winner 2 starts back from the 2nd row when working home over the top to claim victory over the 2138m trip, he went within a half-neck last start. He can look to dictate.

TASCOTT LADY (4) is winless in 14 appearances here at the track, yet she has been able to place in 8 of those contests. From the pocket trail at AP last start, she chased gamely to be within 2m of the winner IMA BIRUBI BOY in slick time. Placed 17 times this season, she will be around the mark again.

ARBIT MAJOR (6) found the front over the 2138m last start and looked to take them all the way when grabbed near the line and beaten a half-head. He will be locked away and probing for gaps.

MONTANA CHIEF (7) rolled forward to the breeze last start and was working in the run when holding on for the bronze. Tightened from that run after being 2nd up from a break, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: MORROCH BAY (1), TASCOTT LADY (4), ARBIT MAJOR (6), MONTANA CHIEF (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MORROCH BAY (1) to win

RACE SIX

NEWMERELLA MOLLY (2)
has started her career with a flurry and all 4 of her starts to date have been here at Marburg. A very impressive 28m winner on debut, her 2nd up run was huge after making an error and still grabbing a placing. Resuming from a spell, she can complete a hat-trick.

WHATA STRDE (4) wasn’t suited last start when snagging back from a wide gate at AP and with the tempo strong in the closing stages, made it tough for those chasing. Runner-up at her previous 2 starts including a strong run from the 2nd line on this track, she can feature in the money here.

SNEAKERS (7) makes her Qld debut for trainer Peter McKay and arrives with placings at her past 3 starts in Western Victoria. 3m from the winner last start at Horsham, she stays under notice.

DALLAS COWGIRL (5) has no favours from wide off the front line, yet she has placed in 6 of 10 appearances here at the track. Able to do some work, she can roll forward and has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: NEWMERELLA MOLLY (2), WHATA STRDE (4), SNEAKERS (7), DALLAS COWGIRL (5)
SUGGESTED BET: NEWMERELLA MOLLY (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

THE GOLDEN CROSS (1) is yet to record a win in Qld however he might just have found the race to rectify that. Getting close to a victory after some solid performances of late, he was only beaten a head 2 starts back when grabbed right on the wire. Lighting the lamps, he can breakthrough.

ELMS CREEK (7) looked to have found the perfect conditions last start and from gate 2 over the 2040m trip at Redcliffe led them up through a steady opening 800m of the last mile. Ramping the tempo, he couldn’t see it out and was swamped late when 2.5m in arrears. He can look to atone.

SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (9) is a six-time winner at the track and despite coming up with the tricky 2nd line alley, will be in the fight. Only 2m away last start at Redcliffe when charging home, he is in the mix.

INVITE ONLY (2) returns from a freshen and was last seen at Armidale when racing behind the leader and fading late in a track record breaking run. Setting close to the speed from gate 2 she has claims.

SELECTIONS: THE GOLDEN CROSS (1), ELMS CREEK (7), SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (9), INVITE ONLY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: THE GOLDEN CROSS (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

TAKITIMU EXPRESS (9)
isn’t afforded any favours here from the 2nd line gate and will need his does of luck in transit. Buried away 2 starts back, he hit the line strongly when finishing within 5m of the winner ELMS CREEK which followed a luckless run when he never saw space. This looks within reach.

MONTEREY JACK (2) makes his 1st race appearance at Marburg and lands the right gate to take advantage of early. An all the way winner at Redcliffe 4 starts back, he hasn’t really been suited at his net 2 outings. Only 8m away last start, his stocks will rise if he can find the pegs 1st here.

SLIPPERY JADE (1) will need to hustle hard if wanting to protect the pegs with some good speed to her outside. Too far back last start when forced to retreat from gate 5, she is in the fight here.

ALWAYS AT NIGHT (4) worked home in good order last start at Redcliffe when finishing mid-field which followed a run in a much stronger 2138m event at AP. With even luck he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: TAKITIMU EXPRESS (9), MONTEREY JACK (2), SLIPPERY JADE (1), ALWAYS AT NIGHT (4)
SUGGESTED BET: TAKITIMU EXPRESS (9) to win

RACE NINE

RUATO BAY (1)
finished down the line last start at Redcliffe after finding position back in the pack from gate 4. The start prior from inside the 2nd line he was shuffled to 3 back along the pegs when using the passing lane to be 7m from the winner. Hustling early from the gate he can look to dictate.

UNASSUMING CHAMP (7) was shooting for his 5th successive win last start when taking on a qualifier from the 2nd line. Forced to do plenty of work in the run, he faded in the closing stages in a strong mile claimed by GOTTA GOOD REASON. Prior to that his form was faultless and he can bounce back.

ALPHA STYX (4) was an AP winner via the passing lane 2 starts back. Last start he couldn’t find position and a victim of circumstance was wide for a long way. With better luck he can place here.

JAX NAVARO (2) took on the claiming grade last start from the 2nd line and found the line soundly behind CASINO TOMMY. With good early speed he can fire an early shot and has podium hopes.

SELECTIONS: RUATO BAY (1), UNASSUMING CHAMP (7), ALPHA STYX (4), JAX NAVARO (2)
SUGGESTED BET: RUATO BAY (1) to win
