RACE TWO

TRAIN WRECK (2) was warming up towards victory after some handy performances and after successive placings was freshened. Returning over the AP 2138m, he wasn’t far from ELMS CREEK and capitalised from gate 1 to go all the way and smash his. With a repeat he looks far too strong.

KATNISS (1) resumes from a spell and is searching for a hat-trick. A winner at her past 2 here at Redcliffe, on both occasions she has had too much zip up the passing lane. The pipes have been opened with a pair of smart trials and the gate sets it up for her to take the closing shot.

THREE MUGS IN (7) opened his Qld account at AP last start when finding the 1x1 trail from the 2nd line and then powering home to a 7m victory. He will be probing for openings from this alley.

TOPNOTCH MACH (5) is another that was finally able to open his Qld account last start when finishing best from well back to claim the prize. Redcliffe may not be his best go, but he can place.

SELECTIONS: TRAIN WRECK (2), KATNISS (1), THREE MUGS IN (7), TOPNOTCH MACH (5)
SUGGESTED BET: Peg line trifecta 1-2-7

RACE THREE

SPONDOOLEY (1) has started from the 2nd line at his past 4 starts and been angled to the pegs and saved for one closing shot. Winless in over 12 months now, he hasn’t been far away in recent starts and with the benefit of the alley and not a great deal of speed, they might just try to go all the way.

STUDLEIGH WILL (7) was lighting the lamps from gate 1 over the sprint trip 5 starts back and was able to grip to the lead and score the narrowest of victories. Placed in 2 runs since that win including a last start 3rd when tough from the breeze, he will get the soft trip here and look to sprint late.

MAJOR GENERALJUJON (3) had the speed to lead from gate 1 over the 2138m last time out and setting a steady tempo, couldn’t last. A tough winner here 4 back, he will be in for the grind here.

ZED CODE (5) started from gate 6 last start and was snagged back and then coming wide in the latter stages was within 6m of the winner. Freshened, she can be chiming in late here.

SELECTIONS: SPONDOOLEY (1), STUDLEIGH WILL (7), MAJOR GENERALJUJON (3), ZED CODE (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

AMILLION PROMISES (3)
resumes from a spell after having just a single start last campaign. Put away after a narrow 3rd in the 2018 Breeders Classic, he had an issue at his return and his 2YO term was ended. Resuming for the Dixon team, he has trialled in good order and can look for a winning return.

IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (9) faded out in the latter stages last time after being forced to work in the breeze over the 2138m trip. A winner here 3 starts back when closing out strongly, the return to Redcliffe suits and with a nice run in transit can be ready to issue a closing challenge.

BETTOR BECAUSE (10) will be 2nd up since switching stables with her 1st up run a smart effort, Settling back in the pack she was charging home when beaten 2m and is in the mix again here.

MUCHO GUAPA (5) made the most of the passing lane here 3 starts back to arrive in time. 2 starts back she was too far back and last start was only 1.5m in arrears. The gate hurts but she can place.

SELECTIONS: AMILLION PROMISES (3), IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (9), BETTOR BECAUSE (10), MUCHO GUAPA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: AMILLION PROMISES (3) to win

RACE FIVE

MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (2) hasn’t had the best of fortunes with 2 of his past 3 starts seeing him forced to work hard in the run facing the breeze which isn’t his style. He was game here 2 back over the longer 2280m trip and with the return to the sprint trip here can look to take them all the way.

JANIES GOT A GUN (8) rolled the sleeves last start and was in for the fight when sent to the breeze from gate 5, only fading in the closing stages. She hit the line nicely here 2 starts back to grab the bronze and with the right trail through early will be in a stroking position to challenge in this.

SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (5) was closing out strongly here 2 starts back after easing back from gate 5 in the early stages and was only beaten a head. With the right run in transit he will be in the mix.

STEVIE DEE (10) was able to press ahead and take control from the front over the 2138m trip last start but couldn’t see it out, fading in the stretch. Saved for one shot she can chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (2), JANIES GOT A GUN (8), SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (5), STEVIE DEE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (2) to win

RACE SIX

MY WINGMAN (2)
started from inside the 2nd line last start and was able to secure the pocket trail. Coiled and ready to strike when the passing lane arrived, he just lost momentum when needed. He took them all the way at Marburg 2 starts back and can hustle early and look to dictate.

ALWAYS AT NIGHT (5) has been meeting stronger opponents in recent outings than he faces off against here. 3 starts back he followed inside runs to get within 3m of the winner in claiming the bronze. Not suited from wider gates his past 2, its less of an issue in this company.

MODERN THOUGHT (1) has been freshened since her last appearance when not suited from wide on the track. Her 3 runs prior to that were all from the 2nd line and with the improved gate can place.

JACKS GAMBIT (8) was snagged back from gate 6 last start and then had little luck in the closing stages in trying to find open space. Gunned down in the closing stages 2 back, he has place hopes.

SELECTIONS: MY WINGMAN (2), ALWAYS AT NIGHT (5), MODERN THOUGHT (1), JACKS GAMBIT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MY WINGMAN (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (3) has started inside the 2nd line at his past 2 outings at AP and after being back in the pack on each occasion has found the line in good order. Looking for gaps last start behind MO JARNEY, the return to the triangle in an open contest suits and is worth a throw at the stumps.

FUI FUI (2) returned his best result this campaign last time out at Marburg when working home from back in the pack to grab the bronze, beaten 16m. He has found himself a long way back in his races in recent outings and trying to charge home. Winless since Oct 2017, he is not without hope here.

BUNDJALUNG BEAUTY (6) will take a great deal of benefit from her 1st Qld outing last time out. That was her 1st run in 8 months and despite a tough gate, look for her to show some good improvement.

AROONA (1) used inside lines to chase home and grab the bronze behind RITCHIE BEE here 4 starts back, even after making an early error. With the benefit of the inside, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (3), FUI FUI (2), BUNDJALUNG BEAUTY (6), AROONA (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

LITTLELIONELJAMES (1)
resumes from a spell after a 4-start preparation to start his career. His debut effort had merit and then there were excuses at his next 3 outings. Trialling in good order for his return to the track and with the added experience, he strikes a winnable contest 1st up.

ZARAS ALL SMILES (5) settled in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start and using the passing lane was 6m from the winner DEVOUGED. Starting fav over the AP sprint trip the start prior, she set the tempo but couldn’t see it out when 3m away. Despite the tricky gate she has claims.

SUPREME BANNER (9) makes his Aus debut for the Dixon stable and arrives with some            ordinary numbers next to his name. With 2 trials to prepare, he stays under notice.

TILDALYN (7) ran the best race of her career to date at AP 2 starts back when grabbing the bronze. That came off the back of a cosy trip on the pegs and with a similar trip on offer here can repeat.

SELECTIONS: LITTLELIONELJAMES (1), ZARAS ALL SMILES (5), SUPREME BANNER (9), TILDALYN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: LITTLELIONELJAMES (1) to win

RACE NINE

DAY TOURER (4)
was forced to do it the tough way last start when stuck in the breeze over the 2138m stand trip at AP. Fading in the latter stages he was down the line. That had followed 7 successive top-3 finishes and with good early speed can look to bounce back here.

GREG THE GREAT (6) made an early error last start from the tapes and that was effectively the end of his race. Sent to the post as fav in 4 of his past 5 appearances, he has plenty of convictions which have cost him on each occasion. The return to the mobile is a big plus and he can threaten in this.

HIGH CLOUD LASS (3) was safely away last start and led early before opting for cover over the 2138m when 1st up. Her condition gave out late and fitter from the outing can feature here.

SMOKEY NOVA (9) returned her best effort since arriving in Qld last time out. Forcing her way to the front she was fighting hard when grabbed at the line. With even luck in transit she has place claims.

SELECTIONS: DAY TOURER (4), GREG THE GREAT (6), HIGH CLOUD LASS (3), SMOKEY NOVA (9)
SUGGESTED BET: DAY TOURER (4) to win
