RACE TWO

DE VOYAGE (4) started in red figures last start when eased back from gate 5 to find position, settling near the rear of the pack. With the closing splits up front making it hard for the chasing pack, she ate into the margin nicely to grab the silver. Settling a little closer in transit, she can arrive in time.

NON PASSARE (2) found the line in good order here 2 starts back when striking some trouble in transit and settling closer to the rear. Spearing out early last start from gate 1, he was in an early battle prior to releasing and then holding on for 3rd behind TAYLOR HOOD. He gets a chance in this.

ROCKNTINGIRA (1) steps out in Qld for the 1st time for the Hutchinson stable, last seen at Cranbourne in Nov last year, he has trialled twice in readiness and from the gate is a podium chance.

HAVANA MOON (6) progressed to a Final here last start when snagged back from gate 4 to find position. Only beaten a neck in the heat of that series, with the right tempo here he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: DE VOYAGE (4), NON PASSARE (2), ROCKNTINGIRA (1), HAVANA MOON (6)
SUGGESTED BET: DE VOYAGE (4) to win

RACE THREE

TOANUI SPIRIT (4) has hit her straps since joining the Trent Dawson stable and lines up here shooting for a hat-trick of victories. Breaking the 2040m query apart last start when leading throughout and laying down a slick closing 800m in the process, she can take control of this and get them chasing.

FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (3) has been kept fresh since her last outing where she attacked the line with gusto from back in the pack to score in good style. With a 50%-win strike-rate here on the triangle, winning 3 of her 6 appearances, she can settle close to the action and look to issue some form of challenge.

MAYWYNS JEWEL (2) took on the sprint trip here last start from gate 5 when forced to do the hard yards facing the breeze. In for the fight, she had 3m to spare on the line in claiming the prize. Gunned down the start prior after leading them up and only beaten a head, she is a big threat.

MEGA STAR (1) will appreciate the improved gate after starting from gate 5 at his past 2 starts. Eased back to find position last time, he closed strongly when 7m from the winner and can feature.

SELECTIONS: TOANUI SPIRIT (4), FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (3), MAYWYNS JEWEL (2), MEGA STAR (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 4 / 1-2-3

RACE FOUR

CAM YOU FEEL IT (2)
was taken back in the early stages here 3 starts back from gate 5 when working home in good order to grab the bronze behind RITCHIE BEE. Forced to do it the tough way 2 back when sent to the breeze from gate 8, he again landed gate 8 last time when things didn’t really go his way. With his bets gate for some time, he will get his chance.

GO ANNE GO (3) has placed at her 0ast 4 starts, the latest from gate 6 when finding the line in nice order after retreating in the early stages. A passing lane 3rd 2 starts back when starting inside the 2nd line, she can settle handy to the speed here and be ready to take the closing shot.

BAMBOLE NERE (1) will be fitter following her latest outing when 2nd up from a spell. Last start she worked home in good style despite not receiving the cleanest passage and from the gate she is in the mix.

A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (4) found the last 800m a little too sharp last start when positioned outside the leader over the 2040m. Runner-up in 3 of his previous 4 starts, he will be in for the fight here.

SELECTIONS: CAM YOU FEEL IT (2), GO ANNE GO (3), BAMBOLE NERE (1), A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: CAM YOU FEEL IT (2) to win

RACE FIVE

WESTERN SHOWGIRL (2) eased in to secure the pocket trail last start in a Trot Rods heat, finishing best when the gap arrived to claim a 3m victory with a further 11m back to 3rd. That was a maiden breaking win that followed a down the line effort behind TOANUI SPIRIT. Positioning cheaply here, she finds the right contest to go back-to-back.

MAGHERA MAGGIE (3) has placed at her past 3 in succession, the latest when working hard in the run from a wide gate to get forward and put the pressure on in a Trot Rods heat. 3rd as a beaten fav here 2 starts back from the pocket trail, she will be in for the fight from this gate to challenge.

TRACES OF TARA (8) should be able to secure the right trail through in the early stages to settle handy to the action. Charging home when the gaps opened last start, she can chime in here.

THE LAST DRAGON (1) was shooting for a hat-trick of victories here last start when landing gate 8 and finishing down the line. Arriving for a smart win at his previous 2 starts, the gate is a big plus.

SELECTIONS: WESTERN SHOWGIRL (2), MAGHERA MAGGIE (3), TRACES OF TARA (8), THE LAST DRAGON (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

ILLUMINOSCITY (3) is moving closer to breaking the maiden status after placing at her past 2 starts. Moving in to grab the bronze behind the big winner BETTERTHANDIAMONDS 2 starts back, she was grabbed late last time when looking to lead throughout. From the gate, she can light up the win account.

MAC SWEENEY (2) will take good benefit from his latest start when 1st up for the 4YO term, stepping out after an 8 month lay-off. Settling in the running line from inside the 2nd line, he was down the line behind the clear-out winner BETTERTHANDIAMONDS. With an improved alley he can challenge.

CATCH THE BOUQUET (1) has been freshened since her last appearance when buried away in the run after easing to the pegs to find position. Placed in 3 of 15 starts, the gate is a big plus here.

TRUMP EM BABE (8) has been to the track 3 times since returning from a spell and lands another tough gate. Out of the draw in recent starts, she has been slowly improving and can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: ILLUMINOSCITY (3), MAC SWEENEY (2), CATCH THE BOUQUET (1), TRUMP EM BABE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ILLUMINOSCITY (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

HANOVER LECTER (1)
will take good benefit from her debut performance here last week. Things didn’t go as cleanly as they could, yet she was able to find the line in good order to grab 3rd when 2m in arrears of the winner MY CHINA DOLL. With the options from the gate, she can put the bite on them.

BAILEYS WITH LEGS (2) led them up last start from gate 3 and after not over extending in the early stages looked to dial it up late to bring them home. Grabbed in the latter stages to be 4m in arrears of the winner, she can utilise her early speed here and look to keep them chasing all the way.

TORQUE IN CONTROL (5) added another minor to her tally last start to make it 4 minors in her 7 career starts. Using the passing lane last start, she was 3m from the winner and can chime in again.

BLACKJACK JIM (7) is an Art Major colt on debut for Grant Dixon, with the handy BLACKJACK BART, a full brother to this fellow. Not pushed in a recent trial, he will get an easy trip 1st up and can probe for the openings to offer late.

SELECTIONS: HANOVER LECTER (1), BAILEYS WITH LEGS (2), TORQUE IN CONTROL (5), BLACKJACK JIM (7)
SUGGESTED BET: HANOVER LECTER (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

PEGGY STARDUST (2) speared out from gate 3 last start to find the front prior to releasing and taking the trail on PERFECT FEELING. With the space to take the closing shot, she couldn’t reel in the winner CHUMP CHOP, finishing 4m in arrears. The 2040m is a nagging query, but that same issue will face a few of these and she can plug it out to the line.

PERFECT FEELING (1) made an error soon after finding the front last start and looked to have lost his chance. Once re-setting he was sent on a forward mission, handed the lead back and then was fighting to the wire, only 4m from the winner. Gripping on in the stretch, can he out-last them?

CARIBBEAN ROCKET (5) was eased to the pegs for the short-cuts last start when chasing home behind BOMBADIER JUJON. The gate does him no favours, but settling close enough without using early petrol, he can look to offer in the closing stages.

MANOFLISA (3) wasn’t suited in the one lap sizzle of a Trot Rods heat last start, with that following a sound effort over the 1780m. With even luck in transit, he can make a play for some minor money.

SELECTIONS: PEGGY STARDUST (2), PERFECT FEELING (1), CARIBBEAN ROCKET (5), MANOFLISA (3)
SUGGESTED BET: PEGGY STARDUST (2) to win
