AYDC Leader Board Update

Another win to New Zealand South Island representative Sheree Tomlinson has put her in the box seat to claim the 2018 Australasian Young Drivers Championship at Albion Park on Saturday night.

After dual successes on the opening day at Redcliffe, the Group 1 winning driver guided Springfield Spirit ($10) to a win for trainer Ron Sallis in Heat 5 of the series.

Darby McGuigan jagged his first winner of the series with I'm Norma Jean in a dominant front-running display in Heat 6. After a lean start it took him to seventh on the ladder.

Queenslander Nathan Dawson is still in with a fighting hope in third place (42 points), while defending champion Narissa McMullen sits on fifth with 30 points.

Earlier today, the Australasian Young Drivers visited series charity partner Youngcare's facility at Sinnamon Park.

The final three heats at Albion Park on Saturday signals the return to racing at the famous Breakfast Creek circuit, following recent works to renovate the track.

Four horses from the McMullen-Turpin stable worked on the track this morning ahead of the 11-race program on Saturday, featuring enhanced prize money throughout.
