LIVING FREE (1) resumes from a spell and was last seen back in Sept when claiming the silver from a 2nd line gate over this track and trip. That followed a tough 3rd at Redcliffe when cutting the breeze and fighting hard to be 5m from the winner. Last season’s Marburg horse of the year, he can look to dictate.
WHATA STRIDE (6) has placed at her past 2 starts at Redcliffe when hitting the line in good style in each. Last start after being 3 spots back on the inside she chased hard to be 2m from the winner which followed a head margin. Probing for an opening she can challenge if the gap opens.
COWGIRLCHICK (7) will be further tightened from her latest outing when 2nd up off a long break. Settling in the running lien from gate 2 she was sound to the line and will be thereabouts again.
KID CALVERT (2) is still searching for what is an elusive maiden breaking win. Using the passing lane 2 starts back at Redcliffe he went within a nose of victory and has podium claims in this.
SELECTIONS: LIVING FREE (1), WHATA STRIDE (6), COWGIRLCHICK (7), KID CALVERT (2)
SUGGESTED BET: LIVING FREE (1) to win
HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (1) will be on the short back-up after a trip down to Armidale on Thursday. Starting off the 2nd line at each of his past 4 Qld starts, he finished best of the chasing pack behind the big winner WILLSINTOWN 4 starts back and hasn’t been suited since. From the gate he can look to fire out and breakthrough.
MYBELLA ROSE (7) was 1st up from a break and since changing to the Murray Thomas barn at Redcliffe on Tues when finishing mid-field in a slightly tougher contest than she meets here. From the gate she can settle in a handy position and will in the mix.
SURFER JOE (2) resumes from a break and will start his 3YO term after a 2YO campaign that failed to net any success. He run into some handy types his last 3 starts and with good early speed and natural improvement can be thereabouts.
FEELGOODCHICK (6) should enjoy a perfect trip from inside the 2nd line and will be looking for the gaps. Run down from in front here 2 starts back she has podium claims.
SELECTIONS: HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (1), MYBELLA ROSE (7), SURFER JOE (2), FEELGOODCHICK (6)
CC JONES (7) gets in here on a huge class drop and if he can handle the tighter track than he should be able to dispose of his opponents here. His run for 3rd at Redcliffe 3 starts back was enormous and followed that with a strong finish from the rear when 4.5m from the winner. Gets every chance.
OSCARS GLORY (2) cashed-in to break a long run of outs here 3 starts back when pressing on to the breeze and hanging tough to score a neck victory. COLOMBIAN GOLD was 2nd in that race and she has since won nicely. His past 2 have been in stronger company and he can be gripping on.
EULO FLYER (1) was down the line last start behind PACIFIC DRUMS and will find this more to his liking from the gate. His last run here was a tidy effort for 4th and from the gate has place claims.
ANNAS BEST (3) is a slick early beginner but might be looking for cover here. She ran home in good style last start for the bronze at Redcliffe and can be around the money again.
SELECTIONS: CC JONES (7), OSCARS GLORY (2), EULO FLYER (1), ANNAS BEST (3)
SUGGESTED BET: CC JONES (7) to win
FAKEROCKNROLL (7) is racing in great touch and despite coming up with a tricky gate can look to get forward into the contest early. Rolling forward to the breeze from gate 5 last start he was in for the fight when holding on for the bronze and was a tough winner at Redcliffe 5 starts back. He can look to grind this out.
ZED EXPRESS (3) was an all the way Redcliffe winner 5 starts back when controlling the tempo in front and running home to a nice win. Wide gates cost him at his next 3 and then last start wasn’t suited when working in the run. He can look for the pegs here and from the front can give cheek.
TORQUE FEELS GOOD (6) resumes from a break and steps out for the 1st time as a 4YO. Her run 2 starts back was a tidy effort and with a cosy trip at her return will be probing for an opening.
IFYOUBELIEVE (8) was an impressive winner here 2 starts back when sent forward from the 2nd line and doing some work to get to the front held on for a 5m victory. That type of run keeps him in contention in this.
SELECTIONS: FAKEROCKNROLL (7), ZED EXPRESS (3), TORQUE FEELS GOOD (6), IFYOUBELIEVE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: FAKEROCKNROLL (7) to win
IM FREE FALLING (2) returns from a spell and stepped out in fine style in a recent Redcliffe trial top open the pipes. Runner-up at his last 2 runs prior to being sent for a break, he was run down in the closing stages last time out. From the gate he will need to hustle but finding the pegs he can dictate.
REAL KNUCKY (1) is in great touch and been top-two at his past 5 in succession with 2 of those being victories. From the pocket trail last start he just couldn’t get the leader over the Redcliffe 1780m which followed successive wins. He might just look to hold them out and will go very close in this.
MY MOJO (8) should be further tightened now following 3 runs back from a break. Last start he was sent out fav and chased hard when 9m from the winner EVERYTHING. With even luck he can feature.
SAMMYSLUCK (7) will be looking to press through in the early stages and if the 2 can get to the front he can drive through to get the breeze. Only beaten a head last start via the passing lane he can place.
SELECTIONS: IM FREE FALLING (2), REAL KNUCKY (1), MY MOJO (8), SAMMYSLUCK (7)
SUGGESTED BET: IM FREE FALLING (2) to win
IFOUNDTHEBEACH (1) started from the 2nd line last start and finding 1x1 cover chased hard to claim the bronze behind BROADWATER. A tough 2nd at Armidale 3 starts back from the breeze was followed at Redcliffe when not getting into the contest. From this gate he can look to take control and gets his chance.
BLUE EYED CREATION (2) settled off the speed at Redcliffe 3 starts back and then sailed home to a tidy win, putting up a 6m margin on his opponents. Beaten from tricky gates his past 2 starts, his latest run was a nice effort from gate 6 behind SAMMARI. From the good gate he won’t be far away.
MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (7) looked to take them all the way here 3 starts back and after leading them over the 2200m was only collared in the final 20m. He caught the eye last start and looked to have plenty to offer and will pay to follow.
INVITE ONLY (5) faces a tough gate but will find this easier than recent contests. Sent to the breeze here last start from the 2nd line the effort told on the sloppy track. A nice 2nd at Redcliffe 3 starts back keeps her under notice.
SELECTIONS: IFOUNDTHEBEACH (1), BLUE EYED CREATION (2), MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (7), INVITE ONLY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: IFOUNDTHEBEACH (1) to win
ITS ALL GO (1) has a great record here at Marburg with a top-3 in 9 of 11 appearances with 4 of those victories. Freshened after 2 runs back from a break, he should appreciate the gate after being off the 2nd line at both return runs. A strong winner here 3 starts back when leading throughout he can look to dictate with the map looking to beat class.
IMA TOP TYCOON (3) was buried away on the pegs at Redcliffe last start and hit the line in good style to grab the bronze behind READILY. He took on a 2nd division qualifier 2 starts back in a sound effort and finding a position here will be looking to pounce if there is too much pressure up front.
LETHAL STAR (6) will need her share of luck to sight an opening from the peg-line here. Claiming the bronze at her past 2 starts including a 2m margin in a mares qualifier 2 starts back she will just need the seas to part.
MR MEDDLE (8) is the class of the field but finds a tricky gate and will need some luck. Placed in successive stand starts here he then went within a half-neck of victory at Redcliffe. Won’t be far away.
SELECTIONS: ITS ALL GO (1), IMA TOP TYCOON (3), LETHAL STAR (6), MR MEDDLE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ITS ALL GO (1) to win
VADER (2) finished hard in the closing stages to claim a win at AP 6 starts when running home in strong fashion. Last start at Redcliffe from gate 10 he was hitting the line hard to grab the bronze and 2 starts back was only 2m from the winner. Stoked up to find the pegs he can look to dictate.
PRINCE OF ZANZIBAR (9) was flashing home in the closing stages at Redcliffe last start in a 2nd division qualifier to get within a half-neck of the winner SIR JULIAN. That was his best run in 5 starts since arriving in Qld and despite facing a tricky gate here, he can look to build on the momentum of his last start improvement.
READILY (4) is on the one-day back-up after going around at Armidale on Thurs. A Redcliffe winner last start he opted for the trail and then via the passing lane packed too many guns. Having his 1st look at Marburg he can feature.
OHOKA COOPER (1) doesn’t have the greatest early speed but hustling can look to protect the pocket trail. His past few runs have been sound when running home in the closing stages and he can be looking for space in this.
SELECTIONS: VADER (2), PRINCE OF ZANZIBAR (9), READILY (4), OHOKA COOPER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: VADER (2) to win
