Co-trainer Peter Hulbert is hoping apprentice Adin Thompson’s perfect record on promising sprinter Excelebrazione continues at Toowoomba on Wednesday.

Thompson, 18, landed his first metropolitan winner on Excelebrazione when the five-year-old was successful at Ipswich last start.

Thompson will utilise his three kilogram claim again to offset Excelebrazione’s big weight of 58.5kgs in the Class Five Handicap (1200m).

Thompson has had four rides on Excelebrazione for four wins and Hulbert believes the young rider has found the key to the sprinter.

“I think maturity has been the main thing with Excelebrazione as it took a while for him to develop,” Hulbert said.

“He used to be very aggressive early in his career but he’s learned to relax now.”

Hulbert, who trains in partnership with son Will, is hopeful Excelebrazione can develop further into a Saturday class horse in the city.

“He’ll end up in town on a Saturday eventually,” he said.

“This is a metro meeting tomorrow and maybe next campaign he’ll graduate to the city on a Saturday.”

Thompson had his first ride on Excelebrazione when the pair were successful in Class One grade at Toowoomba in March.

They were united again to win at Toowoomba three weeks later before Hulbert ordered a spell after the gelding failed to measure up against Class Three opposition at Eagle Farm in April.

Excelebrazione has won two of his three starts this campaign and was ridden by Thompson in both wins.

“Adin has had four rides for four wins and we’re hoping it continues at Toowoomba tomorrow,” Hulbert said.

“Excelebrazione has only started twice at Toowoomba and won both times so he should be competitive again.”

Excelebrazione is by Group One winning European sire Excelebration out of good producing mare Endless Maize who is owned by the Lillivale Stud.

“Endless Maize has been an outstanding broodmare and we’ve had a lot of success with her family,” Hulbert said.

Excelebrazione is a half-brother to Endless Shadow, Endless Puzzle and Endless Don who were all successful on the racetrack.
