RACE TWO

There look a few tricky contests to dissect on this card and this race falls into that category. He looks to have had his chance to win a few of late but BLUE SHARD (7) just seems to find a way to be beaten. Runner-up at 3 of his past 5, he was the fav in 2 of those. The gate does not afford him any favours but with the ability to roll the sleeves if required, he is worth another chance.

MONTANA FLASH (3) is a 2YO taking on the older horses here, just to throw an extra layer into the mix in this contest. Also taking on the older types last time when obliged to race tough in the breeze, he was fighting hard when runner-up to the big winner JAGGERS SWAGGER. Pressing forward her can challenge.

SONNY ORLANDO (6) was in the pocket trail last start when searching for an opening to be within 3m of the winner MONTEREY JACK. The wide gate dents his chances, yet he cannot be discounted.

CHUMP CHOP (9) has laned 2 wins at his past 3 outings, the latest when working home strongly over the Redcliffe sprint trip to arrive. With the right trail, he can be making a closing play to feature.

SELECTIONS: BLUE SHARD (7), MONTANA FLASH (3), SONNY ORLANDO (6), CHUMP CHOP (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

TACTFILLY MAGIC (1) was soon buried 3 back from this gate last start and was trying to make a closing play when 7m from the swooping winner CROWN MOJO. The start prior she looked to take them all the way when stared down and could not find late. With a cosy trip, she can take the snipers shot.

REGAL NIGHTSHADE (7) has the carpark to overcome but might just find this a shade or 2 below what he has been meeting of late. Obliged to race tough last start outside the leader, he could not finish them off when mid-field. Placed his previous 3 in succession, back to the big oval helps.

TRIOLI (2) will take some benefit from her latest start when returning from a spell. Snagged back from gate 4 to find position, the late speed made it a challenge to make ground. Settling closer she is in the mix.

NAUGHTYINHEAVEN (3) fired out from this gate last start to find the front and looked to take them all the way. With a steady middle-half she was fighting to the line when beaten a half-neck. She will be gripping on again.

SELECTIONS: TACTFILLY MAGIC (1), REGAL NIGHTSHADE (7), TRIOLI (2), NAUGHTYINHEAVEN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-7

RACE FOUR

The map looks hard to pin down in this race with plenty of early speed and a few that like to release early pressure making it trickier. With the likelihood of that early pressure and shuffling, looking to a swooper to make the closing shot. CORINDHAP CREEK (10) finished strongly last start when a half-head away from the winner IDEAL TIGER which followed a credible 3rd to MAJOR FERNCO. He can arrive.

WILLSINTOWN (1) has early speed but has been at his best recently when saved for a closing shot. A winner at 4 of his past 8 following that patter, he will appreciate the return to the sprint trip after finding the 2138m out of reach last start. If he can be leaders back without burning too much early fuel, he can take the closing shot.

CROWN MOJO (7) will take good benefit from his return to the track here last week when 1st up from a spell. Settling at the rear from this same gate, he had too much closing power to arrive for the prize and will be charging home once again.

TEARAWAY DIAMOND (6) was locked away on the pegs last start when using the passing lane to grab the bronze behind LARRY LINCOLN. Grabbed in the closing stages the start prior by OUR BALOU, the gate stings but he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: CORINDHAP CREEK (10), WILLSINTOWN (1), CROWN MOJO (7), TEARAWAY DIAMOND (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

This looks an open contest and the front-line pressure in the run will play a pivotal role in determining the winner. Fitter following one run back from a spell MY ULTIMATE BONDI (4) should also appreciate an improved gate after landing the 2nd line his past 5 in succession. Best of the chasers behind HIT THE TRACK last start when 1st up in 8 months, he can take his chances here.

ALLSTAR SEA (6) started from the 2nd line last time out over the Redcliffe 2040m trip when looking to join in through the closing stages to grab the bronze behind HIT THE TRACK. Forget his run 2 back when put of play, he has the tough gate to negotiate, but if the tempo is strong, he can make a closing challenge.

RUNFORTHEROSES (9) has placed at her past 4 in succession and from this alley should settle just in behind the action. Making a passing lane play last start when beaten an eyelash, she can chime in.

SEAMARK (2) was locked away and searching for a gap that did not arrive last start when finishing 6m from the winner. Finding MAJOR FERNCO too slick his previous 2 starts, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE BONDI (4), ALLSTAR SEA (6), RUNFORTHEROSES (9), SEAMARK (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MY ULTIMATE BONDI (4) to win

RACE SIX

IMA TOP TYCOON (9)
was off and around them early from this gate over the 2138m last time out to roll the sleeves and toil away outside the leader. Fighting hard he was within 4m of the winner. A winner the start prior over this trip, he should be in the right spot to finish over the top of them.

FLAMNG HERO (6) drops back to the claiming ranks with his recent performances better than the numbers suggest. Retreating last start, he was a long way back against the tempo and the start prior was closing strongly behind IMASPORTSSTAR. He has been without a win for some time but can challenge in this grade.

INTRANSIT (10) is racing consistently without landing a winning blow in this grade, placing at his past 4 in succession. Making the swooping play last start to get within a neck of the winner CHANTREY. He will be charging late again.

CHANTREY (7) was stamped urgent out of the machine over the 2138m last start to take control and then fight them off to score. Going forward proved the difference and he can be in the mix again.

SELECTIONS: IMA TOP TYCOON (9), FLAMNG HERO (6), INTRANSIT (10), CHANTREY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: IMA TOP TYCOON (9) to win

RACE SEVEN

LIFES A JUNGLE (8) will be requiring some things to go his way, but following a good beginner looks set to secure the economical trip. Doing some early work in recent starts that has left him with limited offerings late, he should appreciate the absence of the early burn to take the snipers shot.

JOEY LINCOLN (10) eased from gate 6 last start to find position before making a strong closing sprint to grab the bronze when within 2m of the winner MONTEREY JACK. The result the start prior shows last, yet he was only 4m from the winner and with added fitness will be swooping late to challenge.

IN THE PAPER (7) was sent forward from gate 6 over the Redcliffe sprint trip last time out when working hard in a strong opening half. Saved for a closing shot 2 starts back, that can be the play here to chime in.

MAFFIOSO GIRL (1) tried to take them all the way last start at Redcliffe over the 1780m. Made to earn it early, she was left without bullets for the stretch drive. Pinching a panel will be key to her chances.

SELECTIONS: LIFES A JUNGLE (8), JOEY LINCOLN (10), IN THE PAPER (7), MAFFIOSO GIRL (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LIFES A JUNGLE (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

VENUS JUJON (6) claimed a mares qualifier here 3 starts back when finishing best to defeat subsequent winner MILLWOOD TILLY. Striking a pair of smart performers at her next 2 starts in the shape of L L COOL J and ONE CHANGE, she closed strongly last start. The gate stings but she can arrive.

NOTORIOUS (7) is drawn wide yet he has been in good touch from bad gates as he continues his consistent efforts. Sent straight to the front from gate 3 last start, he was never in danger, cruising home to a 3m victory in strong time. In the money at 7 of his past 9 starts, he will challenge hard.

LEFT A HURRIKANE (1) returns from a break, sent for a let-up after finishing mid-field behind DOUBLE OR NOTHING back in August. Coming into this without a public trial, he has the options.

ONLY IN ROME (8) was locked away from this gate last start when searching for a gap when finishing 5m in arrears of the winner NOTORIOUS. Eased back the start prior before finishing strongly, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: VENUS JUJON (6), NOTORIOUS (7), LEFT A HURRIKANE (1), ONLY IN ROME (8)
SUGGESTED BET: VENUS JUJON (6) to win

RACE NINE

BOMBADIER JUJON (6) has a tricky gate to overcome but he has been flying of late and will tighten further following his latest hit-out when 2nd up from a let-up. Taking a sit on ONE CHANGE last start, he was chasing hard in a slick closing panel when 4m away. 2m from the flying NURBURGRING the start prior, he has the class edge here.

HAVANA MOON (9) found the tempo over the 2138m a little too hot last start when taking on a veteran’s event behind JONAH JONES. Beaten by the tempo when retreating early here 2 starts back in a small field, he should settle closer to the action to throw down a challenge against these.

JOANNIES GIRL (3) had too much speed inside her against the mares last start when settling 1x2 in the running line. Forget the start prior, she was a swooping winner in smart time at Redcliffe 3 back and from the gate is in the mix.

IT AINT THE MONEY (8) was obliged to roll the sleeves to do the tough stuff last start and was in for the fight when holding 3rd to DELIGHTFUL MAJOR. Charging home to score here 3 starts back, he will be probing the gaps.

SELECTIONS: BOMBADIER JUJON (6), HAVANA MOON (9), JOANNIES GIRL (3), IT AINT THE MONEY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: BOMBADIER JUJON (6) to win
