RACE TWO

TACTICAL RESPONSE (10) has the hoof on the ‘till, bursting to win a race when he can get the right trip. That looks to occur here and with even luck he can arrive. Only 3m away last start after moving 3-wide from the 600m point, he chased hard the start prior behind KINGOFTHESTARS. Tonight!

CAUTIVAR (2) started from the 2nd line last start when settling in the 1x1 trail before looking to make a closing play to be 7m from the winner ITZ MY GENERATION. 3rd to the flying NURBURGRING 2 starts back when only 3m away, he can look to optimise his chances from this gate to challenge.

COURAGEOUS SAINT (5) pressed forward here last week over the mile but repelled for the leading duties was obliged to race tough thereafter. After putting the leader away, he was nabbed up the lane. He will fight again.

CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (8) is not far away from a win when the conditions align and from this gate will enjoy the cosy trip. Only 4m away last start, he will be probing for the openings to join in.

SELECTIONS: TACTICAL RESPONSE (10), CAUTIVAR (2), COURAGEOUS SAINT (5), CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: TACTICAL RESPONSE (10) to win

RACE THREE

BLACKSADANCE (12) was returning from a monstrous effort in defeat when 3rd in the South East Derby back in July, when landing gate 1 here last week. Taking control at release, he was never in danger when cruising home in 55.1 for the last half to score. If he can stay ahead of his main danger, this would be within reach.

GOVERNOR JUJON (13) missed a minor for the 1st time here at The Creek in 11 outings when making a costly error here last start that saw him down the line behind ONE CHANGE. That was his 1st up run since winning the South East Derby and he went into that without a trial. Trialling since the return, he will be throwing it down.

THE HUMMER (5) was down the line last start after pressing forward early from gate 4. 2nd up on that occasion, he was 7m from LARRY LINCOLN when 1st up. He can get forward early to be thereabouts.

BOMBADIER JUJON (10) was beaten by the gate last start when too far back as BLACKSADANCE kept the power on in front. In the money his previous 7 in succession, he can track up to chime in here.

SELECTIONS: BLACKSADANCE (12), GOVERNOR JUJON (13), THE HUMMER (5), BOMBADIER JUJON (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BLACKSADANCE (12) to win

RACE FOUR

The 2020 DJA Final looks wide open and with the capacity field, luck in running will be playing a big part. Pressing on to find the front in Round 1, NORTHERN MUSCLE (13) worked to the front when grabbed late to finish 4m from the winner BD KHAOSAN. Angled to the pegs in Round 2, he was mid-field when chasing. With a rub of the green in transit, he looks up to the task.

GEE UP NEDDY (12)
will be looking to go one better than 2019 where he looked set for victory until he was grabbed up the passing lane in the closing strides. He was strong in victory last week over the 2138m trip, looming up to claim a smart win and make it 2 from 2 for the heats. Versatility might be his biggest asset to call on here.

JEDDY R YA READY (1) might be one to look for sitting off the speed with an easy run in transit. Buried away last time, he held ground to the line and from the inside lane with his manners, looms as a place hope at value.

MAJESTIC SIMON (14) was game in fighting for 3rd when 5m away in the 1st Round after the race was controlled from the front. With too much power in the 2nd heat, if he can be in the right striking position, is tactical speed might just be the difference.

SELECTIONS: NORTHERN MUSCLE (13), GEE UP NEDDY (12), JEDDY R YA READY (1), MAJESTIC SIMON (14)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

JIGGLE AND JIVE (12)
met a strong line-up of older opponents last time out when sitting in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line. Setting out to make a closing challenge, she was only a head from the winner. Luckless 1st up from gate 6, all the power in this looks to be off the 2nd line. Fitter and back to her own sex, she can capitalise.

FOND MEMORIES (13) will be 1st up from a spell and lands the tough gate at her return. A strong 3rd in the South East Oaks 2 starts back when 3rd to JENDEN STRIKE, she was then within 8m of GOVERNOR JUJON in the Derby. Opening the pipes with a sharp trial, she can ask some questions.

BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (9) will strip fitter after returning to the track last start from this same gate over the mile. Joining in late to grab 2nd behind LARRY LINCOLN, she can press through early to feature.

VENUS JUJON (11) was angled to the pegs last start over the 2138m and with the cosy trip was finishing strongly when runner-up to CAPTAIN COSMONAUT. Attacking the line strongly 3 starts back behind ONE CHANGE, returning to her own age is a plus.

SELECTIONS: JIGGLE AND JIVE (12), FOND MEMORIES (13), BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (9), VENUS JUJON (11)
SUGGESTED BET: JIGGLE AND JIVE (12) to win

RACE SIX

COLBY (8)
was 1st up in Qld off a freshen when weaving a passage to the line for the bronze behind L L COOL J. Beaten a lip at his next outing after doing all the heavy lifting, he was too sharp in front last start over this trip. He will be sweating on the passing lane with momentum and if getting the run, can make the closing shot a winner.

STRADDIE (12) heads North for trainer Clayton Harmey and arrives with a hat-trick of victories at Newcastle to his name. Pressing forward from gate 7 to take control last start, he set up a slick mile in front. Landing some tough gates in recent outings, he has been up to the challenge and can do so again.

KENSINGTON BILL (1) makes his 1st race appearance in Qld, joining the Narissa McMullen barn from the South island of NZ. Arriving with 5 wins against his name, he blew the cobwebs out in a recent trial and has the gate to feature.

VIRGIL (3) was able to find open space to get to the pegs from gate 3 last start, settling 3 back against the poles as BLACKSADANCE controlled it in front. The fence filled the trifecta and if he can get cheap position again, he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: COLBY (8), STRADDIE (12), KENSINGTON BILL (1), VIRGIL (3)
SUGGESTED BET: COLBY (8) to win

RACE SEVEN

Tasting defeat for the 1st time in Qld last start, the effort of ONE CHANGE (1) was huge in fighting to claim the silver. Doing all the work over the sprint trip, he was within 1.5m of the winner. Strong from the breeze in equalling the 3YO track record here 3 runs back, he will get the chance for a soft trip and be ready to pull the trigger in the stretch.

TURN IT UP (2) has started twice in Qld and comes into this fresh since his last outing back on October 24. Spearing off the arm to take control from gate 6 on that occasion, he was never in danger when scoring a comfortable 3m victory. He can pounce on the poles again- will his condition get him home.

COLT THIRTY ONE (5) has been chipping away at the FFA spoils in recent weeks, putting up a fence of wins containing 5 pickets. He has been given no favours from the gate and looks set to roll the sleeves again, but with 4 of his past 5 wins from the breeze, he will be in for the fight.

ROCK WITH SAM (8) will get the peg run here with the tempo likely to make that a good place to be. Buried away last start from this same alley, he will likely be one spot closer this time with exotic hopes.

SELECTIONS: ONE CHANGE (1), TURN IT UP (2), COLT THIRTY ONE (5), ROCK WITH SAM (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ONE CHANGE (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

WITH THE BAND (1) has been coming from wide gates of late and will appreciate the improved alley here. Pressing forward to take control last start over the 2138m trip, she could not stave off the challengers in the closing stages. Runner-up here 3 starts back when only a neck in arrears of the winner. The gate gives her every chance.

PELOSI (3) returns from a NSW campaign that saw her finish runner-up in successive starts in slick time at Menangle. That earned her the ticket into the Breeders Challenge Final at G1 level where although not 1st past the post, she gained the verdict in the steward’s room. She might need to graft here, but she is up to the task.

FAME ASSURED (7) has been racing consistently without any luck in the FFA ranks since returning from a spell. Running some brilliant closing splits, she has grabbed 3rd to COLT THIRTY ONE in 2 of her past 3 starts and despite the wide gate, her class will take her a long way.

GEORGIE MARTIN (8) steps out in Qld for the 1st time for Stephen Cini, arriving with a strong Penrith win 3 starts back. Set for an economical trip, she can be ready to strike when the gaps arrive.

SELECTIONS: WITH THE BAND (1), PELOSI (3), FAME ASSURED (7), GEORGIE MARTIN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-7-8

RACE NINE

BIG WHEELS (7) ended his last campaign with successive feature race success after claiming the Breeders Classic with an all the way win. Sent into the Triad Final fresh, he capitalised on gate 1 to lead them all the way in claiming a stylish win. With 2 sharp trials, he can return where he left off.

JASPER (11) hit the board in all 8 starts through her 1st preparation, scoring 4 wins accompanied by 4 minors. Last seen when beaten 4m behind the smart colt HE AINT FAKIN, she was runner-up in the G1 APG Final 2 starts back. Never in danger when claiming the Fillies Triad, she is a smart filly.

DANCE IN THE SUN (5) is on the up and will be fresh since her last victory when too slick out in front, putting it out of reach of the chasers with a 27.6 closing panel in front. With early speed, she can be up near the pointy end to feature here.

MANILA PLAYBOY (10) was a strong winner of the Redcliffe Sales Final at G1 level after working around them in the early stages. It just did not work out in his last outing in the Triad Final. Trialling in nice order, he cannot be ignored 1st up.

SELECTIONS: BIG WHEELS (7), JAPSER (11), DANCE IN THE SUN (5), MANILA PLAYBOY (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BIG WHEELS (7) to win

RACE TEN

The early speed battle here to the peg-line will go a long way to deciding the winner of this race. WESTERN HEIR (3) was lighting the lamps last start over the mile by virtue of gate 1 when grabbed in the closing stages by ALWAYS A SECRET. Taking benefit from that run when 2nd up in Qld, he might just sneak home here.

THEARTOFINFUSION (4) pressed on from this same gate over the 2138m 2 starts back before being nabbed up the passing lane when a neck from the prize. Beaten by gate 6 in a strong qualifier last start taken by L L COOL J, he can use his early speed to get forward and will be in for the fight.

PACIFIC DRUMS (7) has no favours from the wide gate yet he can stay out of the early battle and look to slot in for position. Working home strongly last start behind MAJOR MUCHA when 6m in arrears, he has podium claims.

JUST JOSHIN (10) has 2 wins in his past 3 starts with both wins coming when working home from rearward positions over the Redcliffe sprint trip. Only a head away from subsequent winner CORSINI 2 starts back, he can be swooping.

SELECTIONS: WESTERN HEIR (3), THEARTOFINFUSION (4), PACIFIC DRUMS (7), JUST JOSHIN (10)
SUGGESTED BET: WESTERN HEIR (3) to win
