RACE TWO

THE GUN ROCKSTAR (2) was luckless last start after finding the pocket trail from gate 8 at Redcliffe he looked to have plenty to offer in the stretch but jumped it off on the home turn and busted his chances. A solid Redcliffe winner 4 starts back, he can take a left turn to the pegs and dictate.

WHISKEY BLAZE (11) closed out in good style last start from gate 12 behind FRANCO TOTEM which followed a strong 2nd when beaten a head behind JANUARY over the 2138m trip. He has no favours from the gate here but with the right cart into the contest can be closing hard.

CHARLYSE (1) will be 1st up in 12 months but has been to the trials 6 times to full sharpen for her return. Her latest trial was a nice effort behind INVINCIBLE LOXTON and the ace gate suits here.

VETTEL (10) struck trouble in the run last start and did well to finish as close as he did behind CHIRPY CHUCKLES. Securing the right trip here can see him chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: THE GUN ROCKSTAR (2), WHISKEY BLAZE (11), CHARLYSE (1), VETTEL (10)
SUGGESTED BET: THE GUN ROCKSTAR (2) to win

RACE THREE

LEXUS ON THE BEACH (5) was building towards a victory and after 2 solid performances from wide gates within 2 days of each other was able to cash-in at his next outing. Pressing on to the breeze from the 2nd line over the 2138m he packed too many guns in an 8m victory and can give this a shake.

BET IM SPECIAL (1) had faced a string of inside 2nd line gates and been relying on luck in the run. Last start he moved to the front and finding the pocket trail went within a half-neck of the winner CHAPTER ONE. From the ace gate he can get the perfect trip again and go mighty close.

OUTLAW FELLA (8) was charging home from back in the pack last start after snagging back from gate 7 and was only 5m from the winner. He will be probing for an opening here and with a rub of the green can feature.

KETUT (9) was a big winner 2 starts back at Redcliffe swooping home off a hot temps to score a 9m victory. With the right early trail he can be charging home again here.

SELECTIONS: LEXUS ON THE BEACH (5), BET IM SPECIAL (1), OUTLAW FELLA (8), KETUT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: LEXUS ON THE BEACH (5) to win

RACE FOUR

GOODTIME STRIDE (6)
has worked herself back into form and after attacking the line strongly in a slick closing 800m panel to grab the silver, made the most of a huge class drop in putting away a field at Redcliffe. Despite the gate she looks well placed again here and can take the loot.

HIGH ON MONTANA (11) has no favours from this alley but he is racing well and with even luck in transit can bob-up in a race like this. A nice winner at Marburg 2 starts back, on Tues from inside the 2nd line he closed out in good order to be 6m from the winner PAY ME INTEREST. Just needs some luck.

UNASSUMING CHAMP (12) is another that will need some luck in transit but is in the mix if it arrives. Sent forward from the 2nd line last start at Redcliffe he was 2m from the winner OLIVER WINKLE.

STRANGE CONDUCT (5) scored a strong win from the breeze at Marburg last start which followed a tough 3rd to BETTOR WATCH HIM. Finding some good form he can’t be dismissed.

SELECTIONS: GOODTIME STRIDE (6), HIGH ON MONTANA (11), UNASSUMING CHAMP (12) STRANGE CONDUCT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GOODTIME STRIDE (6) to win

RACE FIVE

GLENFERRIE HOOD (3) completed a hat-trick of victories all from gate 4 with 2 of them coming in front over the mile and the other from the trail after releasing over the 2138m. Run down at his past 2 when looking to lead throughout, he can find the front cheaper here and will try to fight them off.

ALLELUIA (11) is airborne and the form FFA performer in Qld at present. Displaying versatility with wins at his past 4 in succession from in front, from the rear and working. With 2 wins at the mile and 2 at the middle distance he will need some luck from this gate in the big field but can’t be ignored.

BODHI TREE (2) will take great benefit from his run last week when returning from a break after 2 runs at the top level where he was far from disgraced in the Sunshine Sprint and Blacks A Fake. Buried away in the small field last week he charged home to grab 2nd and is in the mix.

SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (10) will strip fitter after her 1st up run following a break. Releasing from gate 1 she used the passing lane to get within a neck of ALLELUIA.

SELECTIONS: GLENFERRIE HOOD (3), ALLELUIA (11), BODHI TREE (2), SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (10)
SUGGESTED BET: GLENFERRIE HOOD (3) to win

RACE SIX

UNTITLED (3)
worked home strongly from gate 12 here 3 starts back when wide off the track and grabbing 2nd behind the flying SECRET JACK. Too far back from gate 6 when UNCLE PETER set a solid tempo at the front at his next start, he can make the most of the improved gate and take control.

SUBTLE DELIGHT (8) found running line cover from gate 5 here last start over the mile and then came with a well-timed run to edge out PACIFIC DRUMS right on the line. His previous start was full of merit when snagged back from gate 7 and if able to see space in time can challenge here.

RIVERLEIGH JEFF (4) held the pocket trail from gate 1 here last start and with the inside line held on for 3rd behind TACT OLLIE. 3rd to OFFICIANADO 3 starts back he can chime into the placings here.

SOHO SHANGHAI (5) finished best from the 2nd line to score here 3 starts back and then worked hard in the run behind UNCLE PETER. Finding position is key to his chances here and with even luck has claims.

SELECTIONS: UNTITLED (3), SUBTLE DELIGHT (8), RIVERLEIGH JEFF (4), SOHO SHANGHAI (5)
SUGGESTED BET: UNTITLED (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

MY ULTIMATE FELLA (5) was sent forward from gate 4 last start and burnt plenty of gas in finding the front in a sub 27 opening sizzle. Trying to fight them off he couldn’t see it out when holding 3rd. That followed a luckless run when buried away and getting a cheaper lead here looks hard to stop.

VANDE VELDE (11) has no favours from this gate but will be sharpened from 2 runs back from a freshen and change of stables. Luckless at his 1st start for Kylie Rasmussen when hitting a dead-end he then was checked right as the leader and winner kicked clear. He has claims in this line-up.

RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (1) has the draw to suit and with a cosy trip in transit will be ready to offer a closing sprint. 3rd to THE IDES OF MARCH from the pocket trail 3 back he can find the podium here.

JACKS AT THE BEACH (9) worked home in good order here on Tues behind the talented MR KALYPSO to grab the bronze. Forget his run 2 back when striking trouble, he can be in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE FELLA (5),VANDE VELDE (11), RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (1), JACKS AT THE BEACH (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MY ULTIMATE FELLA (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

ALWAYS MY MATE (4)
was a long way back last week and hit the line in good order behind the winner BELLS BEACH HOUSE. Taken back from gate 6 here 3 starts back over the mile he ambushed them late to score over LOCKTON LUCK. He is racing well and with an ounce of luck can score.

THE IDES OF MARCH (7) was absolutely luckless here 2 starts back when never sighting clean air and going under 4m behind OUR CHITTYBANGBANG. He made his own luck last start when sent forward from gate 5 and scored a solid win. The gate hurts but he is on the rise and will be right in the fight.

SAMS A CHAMP (9) started from gate 10 here 2 starts back when after a hat-trick of victories and was charging late to go under a half-head. Not suited in the breeze last start he can place here.

ITS JUST KENNY (8) will need his share of luck from this gate. Fitter following 2 runs back from a break he charged late last start to get within a head of the winner. He will be probing for the gaps.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYS MY MATE (4), THE IDES OF MARCH (7), SAMS A CHAMP (9), ITS JUST KENNY (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

NERIO (7)
is in superb touch and last chased valiantly in running her closing 800m in sub 55 to get within 4m of the winner ARGYLE BEACH. That followed a strong win at Redcliffe via the passing lane and 3 back was only 3m from the smart THE IDES OF MARCH. Despite the gate she looks to classy.

THE NEXT STAR (6) is also in great touch and was looking to score 4 on the bounce last week when beaten by the barriers. From gate 10 she chased gamely to hold the silver behind the all-the-way winner MOTU REAL STYLE. With no favours again this week from the gate, she is still right in this.

HAVETOGETAWAYMORE (3) was locked in a pocket here last week and when she did sight an opening, the race was gone, but her last 100m was sharp. With better luck she can charge late.

ALLNIGHT MLADY (2) faces a rise in class here but with good early speed can get herself in the right position in the early stages. Her effort 2 back from the breeze was sound and she has exotic hopes.

SELECTIONS: NERIO (7), THE NEXT STAR (6), HAVETOGETAWAYMORE (3), ALLNIGHT MLADY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: NERIO (7) to win

RACE TEN

MANDY KRIDEN (4)
was looking to make it 4 in a row here last week when there was a gear issue and she was then held up in traffic at the 400m before charging home to go under a half-neck. The step up to the 2138m trip should be no problem and she can bounce back with victory here.

IOWNATURBO (1) was last at the 400m in last week’s event and was always facing a task with the closing 800m set from the front making it near impossible to make up the deficit. Only beaten a half-neck behind OUR CHITTYBANGBANG 2 back she will be ready for the snipers shot.
JANUARY (3) started fav last week when hitting the line strongly in the blanket finish to claim the bronze, beaten a neck behind ZARAS DELIGHT. Too strong over this trip 2 starts back, she is right in this.

GLENFERRIE BABY (2) had an early look from gate 6 last week and was snagged back when unable to find position. From this gate and good early speed, she can look for the pegs and has place hopes.

SELECTIONS: MANDY KRIDEN (4), IOWNATURBO (1), JANUARY (3), GLENFERRIE BABY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MANDY KRIDEN (4) to win
