RACE TWO

FORGIVE ME (4) has had 10 attempts looking to break the maiden tag and might finally have found the right conditions here. Not much has been going right for her, striking trouble at her past 3 starts, making errors that have ended her chances in each. Trialling to iron out some kinks, she returns here and if she can put it together, might just be able to cash-in.

STAR KISSER (10) features in a stable switch since his last outing and lines up here for the Ricky Gordon barn. 3rd behind the big winner PRESS STATEMENT last time, he has placed in 2 of his 4 career starts and despite the tough gate looks to have claims.

KATANA (1) returns from a freshen after finishing down the line behind DON HESTON last time out. She lands the gate to get an easy trip and can be thereabouts against this line-up.

OUR LITTLE SKIPPER (7) was only 7m away on debut and then 2nd up returned a sound effort behind PRESS STATEMENT. The gate does him no favours but in a wide-open contest, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: FORGIVE ME (4), STAR KISSER (10), KATANA (1), OUR LITTLE SKIPPER (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

ABBEY DIADEMA (1) will take good benefit from her latest outing when 3rd up from a break. Closing in good order when resuming to grab the bronze, she wasn’t suited 2nd up. Finding the right race last time at the 1780m trip, she finished strongly. With the options here, she gets every chance.

FAST IS BETTOR (3) settled back in the pack from the 2nd line last start as the leaders set a steady opening half. Closing strongly in the latter stages, she had too much to offer in arriving for a half-neck victory. Grabbed late the start prior by FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT, she can throw it down here.

ROBINMEGOOD (8) was chasing when mid-field last start behind the smart winner BREACH THE BEACH. Forced to race tough the start prior, he should enjoy a cosy trip here to make a late play.

HESLUVABLE (9) retreated from gate 4 last start to find the pegs when closing strongly thereafter to be 7m from the winner STORM GILBERT. Hitting the line nicely 2 starts back, he has early options here and has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: ABBEY DIADEMA (1), FAST IS BETTOR (3), ROBINMEGOOD (8), HESLUVABLE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ABBEY DIADEMA (1) to win

RACE FOUR

SWORD AND SHIELD (11)
has been facing plenty of tough gates in recent starts, starting no closer than gate 5 at his past 13 in succession. He comes up with another tough alley here, but if some factors are in his favour, he is worth a chance. Too far back against the tempo last start behind ALI DOWNUNDER, he just needs a rub of the green.

BREACH THE BEACH (10) was strong in victory last start at Redcliffe when pressing forward to the breeze to do it the tough way. Through a strong closing 800m, he had bullets to fire in forging clear to a gritty 9m victory. The gate is a stinger here, but anything near his last start would be enough to give this a big shake.

JILLIBY GIZMO (8) took on a 2nd division qualifier last start and led deep into the stretch, with only THEARTOFINFUSION able to get past him in a slick mile. He will be probing here but can chime in.

JERONIMO JOE (4) steps out here at Headquarters for the 1st time after 2 Redcliffe starts since joining the Veivers stable. Closing strongly last start, he has been freshened since that and has claims.

SELECTIONS: SWORD AND SHIELD (11), BREACH THE BEACH (10), JILLIBY GIZMO (8), JERONIMO JOE (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

As is the case with a few of these today, this shapes as a tricky, even contest. Leaning to WEASEL (7) who despite his age has not been too far away of late. Sent to the breeze 3 starts back from the six-hole at Redcliffe, he was in for the fight when finishing runner-up. Only 5m away 2 starts back, he can bob up for one more AP victory.

WATYOUSEEISWATUGET (10) shared the prize at Redcliffe 3 starts back when finishing nicely to dead heat for the win. Tough in the breeze at her next outing when 5m away, she was nabbed late last time out when leading them up from gate 5. Tucking in behind she can make a closing play.

ELLE JAY (2) made the most of conditions last start at Marburg when taking them all the way from gate 1. That was just the 2nd win of her career but from the gate can look to build off that here.

HOLLIE (6) will take benefit from her latest outing when returning from a spell. Starting off the 2nd line she worked home soundly for the bronze which followed a 3rd 2 starts back. She can chime in.

SELECTIONS: WEASEL (7), WATYOUSEEISWATUGET (10), ELLE JAY (2), HOLLIE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: WEASEL (7) to win

RACE SIX

NEWMERELLA MOLLY (4) returns from a spell without a trial in readiness for her return. Only lightly raced, her past 2 have seen wide gates be her undoing. Snagged back from gate 6 at Redcliffe 2 starts back, she then landed gate 5 at her next outing. Early position will be key, but she is worth a chance.

TOO GOOD FOR YOU (5) was sent forward in the early stages from a 2nd line gate last start at Redcliffe to face the breeze. Grinding it out, he proved too strong in claiming a 2m victory. Not far from COOLIE KID the start prior in a 2nd division qualifier, he can throw it down again here.

SIR JUJON (3) found them a bit out of reach here 2 starts back at the 2138m when chasing home behind the smart looking HELLO ITS ME. Too far back last start, he can settle closer to feature here.

BLUE SHARD (7) has the wide gate to negotiate yet he has been in nice touch in recent times. Not that far from the flying FOUR STARZZZ FORSA last start, he was 3rd here 2 starts back over the 2138m. With even luck he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: NEWMERELLA MOLLY (4), TOO GOOD FOR YOU (5), SIR JUJON (3), BLUE SHARD (7)
SUGGESTED BET: NEWMERELLA MOLLY (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

Another tricky contest where the main players look drawn off the 2nd line and will be requiring the tempo to be in their favour. Finding form FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (10) lines up here looking for the hat-trick of wins after successive Redcliffe wins, the latest when leading all the way in a smart time. An AP maiden, she has found the form to change that and land the threepeat.

MONTANA EXPRESS (12) eased from gate 6 over the Redcliffe 1780m 2 starts back before finishing over the top of them to claim a smart win. Again, snagging back last start, he was chasing hard wide out as FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT proved too strong in front. If snaring a cart-home, he can challenge.

BACK PAGE NEWS (2) took on the claiming ranks last start when shuffled back in the run. Running into GOLIGHTLY at his 1st 2 runs back from a spell, he can have an early look here to feature.

BETTOR SPORT (11) has been in nice touch at The Triangle in recent outings with a top-3 in 7 of his past 8. Gunned down after setting a slick tempo in front last start, he has podium claims in this.

SELECTIONS: FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (10), MONTANA EXPRESS (12), BACK PAGE NEWS (2), BETTOR SPORT (11)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

ONLY IN ROME (1) was snagged back from gate 5 last start in a 2nd division qualifier to settle at the rear of the field. Looking for short-cuts to work his way into the field, his closing panels were sharp in finishing 8m from the winner. Crying out for a marble, it drops here, and he gets every chance.

ITZ MY GENERATION (4) is getting closer to a victory since joining the Graham barn, adding another placing last time out. Runner-up in all 4 starts since joining the barn, the latest was here on Monday when 3m from the winner WEEDONS EXPRESS. Only a head away 2 starts back, he can challenge.

MISTER HART (5) retreated from gate 7 last time out to find the pegs before finding the line strongly behind HANDSOME HERO. 6m away the start prior, with even luck he is in the mix in this line-up.

ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (8) took on a much stronger event last start when snagged back from gate 7 to hope for some luck as JONAH JONES dictated in front. With a cosy trip he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: ONLY IN ROME (1), ITZ MY GENERATION (4), MISTER HART (5), ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ONLY IN ROME (1) to win

RACE NINE

CONDAFEW (1) has been out of the winner’s circle for a while, but he might have found the right conditions to strike back here. 10m away last start at Redcliffe from the pocket trail, he was closing soundly 2 starts back behind GASMONKEY. This class of contest appeals and he is worth a chance.

VALOROSO HANOVER (6) has raced here at The Creek twice for no return, the latest came 4 starts back when taking control and setting the tempo for a sub 1.53 mile, fading in the latter stages. Strong in the breeze when scoring at Redcliffe 2 starts back, he can feature in this if he brings the A game.

TAKITIMU EXPRESS (8) has not been to headquarters for a while but lands the perfect gate for his pattern in this. Using the passing lane last start when 8m away, he will be locked away but charging late.

LISA LINCOLN (9) returns from a spell and has opened the pipes in a nice trial hit-out at Redcliffe in readiness. Working hard in a strong mares race 2 starts back, with the right trail she can feature 1st up.

SELECTIONS: CONDAFEW (1), VALOROSO HANOVER (6), TAKITIMU EXPRESS (8), LISA LINCOLN (9)
SUGGESTED BET: CONDAFEW (1) win/place
