RACE TWO

Facing a cruel run of tough barriers that have plagued his chances, LUCKY UNLUCKY (2) finally lands a marble. Snagged back from gate 6 last start, he was attacking from a long way back last start behind the smart dictating winner IDEAL WORLD. No closer than gate 6 his past 9 in succession, he can look to capitalise.

NURBURGRING (12) faces a tough gate, yet his runs have been superb since arriving in Qld. A passing lane winner 3 starts back when sitting in behind the speed and landing the snipers shot, he was game in defeat at his next run in a slick mile. Working forward to take control last start, he held them off and despite the tough gate, will give this a shake.

DOUBLE OR NOTHING (7) is in nice touch with wins in 2 of his past 4 starts. A tough winner here 2 starts back when facing the breeze, he closed in nice order last start for the bronze behind NURBURGRING. He is in the mix despite the tough gate.

SEA HAWKE (1) will strip fitter from his latest start when 1st up from a break. Snagged back form gate 7 to look for short-cuts, he was only 7m from the winner and with the easy trip can chime in.

SELECTIONS: LUCKY UNLUCKY (2), NURBURGRING (12), DOUBLE OR NOTHING (7), SEA HAWKE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LUCKY UNLUCKY (2) to win

RACE THREE

ONE OFF (3) took the trail last start from gate 1 over the mile when holding on for the bronze to be 5m in arrears of the winner STREET APPEAL. Buried away here 3 starts back from a 2nd line gate, a sub 27 closing panel in front from GAME SET MAJOR made it impossible for the chasers. This looks to be within his reach.

PINUP BOY (11) would be much better suited from a front line gate and at the sprint trip, but he is racing in good touch and finds a field no harder than what he has been facing. Working home strongly when mid-field yet 3m in arrears of the winner 2 starts back, he was beaten by gate 12 last time. With even luck he can chime in.

FRANCISCO DE GORE (9) makes his Qld debut for Ron Sallis after recent form around Penrith in NSW. Fading out last start, he was given an easy time to blow out the cobwebs in a recent trial and with the right trip has claims in this.

GOTTA MOMENT (4) can be hard to follow with his mixed efforts, but from this gate looks a chance to feature. Beaten by the 2nd line as KIWIS ARE FLYING took control here on Tuesday, he is podium hope.

SELECTIONS: ONE OFF (3), PINUP BOY (11), FRANCISCO DE GORE (9), GOTTA MOMENT (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ONE OFF (3) to win

RACE FOUR

LARRY LINCOLN (6)
is one of two new 3YO arrivals stepping out for Al Barnes tonight. Down the line at his last start in NZ when tackling the 2200m in Auckland, he looked smart in a local trial over the mile when looming up strongly in smart panels, never really being asked for the effort. He strikes a winnable contest 1st up despite the gate making things a little tricky.

ALL GOOD WALLY (8) was shooting for a hat-trick last time out when tackling the Marburg to Albion Final. With the power on up front, he was always facing a task after retreating from gate 5 to settle back in the pack. With the chance for the cosy trip, he can be ready to take the snipers shot.

KWASII (1) has early speed and from the gate will get the chance to fire the early shots. Setting the tempo after spearing out from gate 4 last time, he held on for the silver and will be gripping on again.

SIGNOR JUJON (9) started from this gate last time out over this trip when working home soundly to grab the bronze behind DEVOUGED. Finishing over the top of them 3 starts back, he has peg options for a cosy trip and can chime in.

SELECTIONS: LARRY LINCOLN (6), ALL GOOD WALLY (8), KWASII (1), SIGNOR JUJON (9)
SUGGESTED BET: LARRY LINCOLN (6) to win

RACE FIVE

HELLO ITS ME (9) was obliged to roll the sleeves and knuckle down for the tough stuff last time out when cutting the breeze and finishing mid-field behind KIWIS ARE FLYING. Grinding it out the start prior when only beaten a neck, she has looked good in all 3 Aus starts and can arrive in time in this.

MILLWOOD TILLY (10) will strip fitter from her return to the track here last time out when finding the poles prior to releasing the pressure. Chasing gamely thereafter to hold the silver behind the smart looking KIWIS ARE FLYING, she will need an even slice of luck but can work home strongly.

BLUE SHARD (2) was sent forward from gate 7 over the mile last time out and in for the fight was working hard when only beaten a neck. From an improved gate he has claims.

DAPPER BESSIE (6) started from inside the 2nd line last time out and was charging home in the closing stages when only beaten a head behind ALBION ARK. The gate stings, but she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: HELLO ITS ME (9), MILLWOOD TILLY (10), BLUE SHARD (2), DAPPER BESSIE (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

A lot will depend on the early tempo in this race with a front line that looks flush with speed. Despite the wide gate if COPPERFIELD (6) can secure position without over-cooking it, he might just have the sleight of hand to take this. Strong in defeat when 3rd to the subsequent winner KIWIS ARE FLYING last start, his win here 2 back was strong. He is worth a chance in what looks a tough race.

MAN OF ACTION (4) will be 1st up in Aus for Al Barnes, arriving with 2 wins and 7 minors in his 19 career starts. Last seen over the 2200m at Auckland when finishing as the runner-up, he has been given a look at The Creek in a recent trial. Running some smart sectionals in that hit-out, he is right under notice here.

JIVE (3) missed a top-three for the 1st time since arriving in Qld when 5m in arrears of the winner HAVING THE FAITH last time out. Grabbed in the closing stages 2 starts back, she can feature.

MAJOR MUCHA (10) will be hoping the tempo is too hard early and looks the best placed of the off-pace runners. Taking on a qualifier last start, he was too far back and settling a little closer here can swoop.

SELECTIONS: COPPERFIELD (6), MAN OF ACTION (4), JIVE (3), MAJOR MUCHA (10)
SUGGESTED BET: COPPERFIELD (6) to win

RACE SEVEN

This shapes as a tricky race with the tempo likely to dictate the chances of those drawn off the front. If factors can be in her favour, SHESFEELINPRECIOUS (8) looks set for an economical trip and can be ready to take the closing shot. Working home for the bronze last start from 3 back on the poles, settling one spot closer can see her arrive.

MODERNDAY FALCON (5) was returning from a spell last tine out when sent to the breeze from gate 4 to do it the tough way. In for the fight he was gripping on to claim the bronze when 9m in arrears of the winner. With the added fitness, he can look to throw it down again here.

BROOKESSMARTDANCER (1) has struggled to find the form that saw him successful in tidy time at Menangle at his only victory. Banished to the trials last start, if he can replicate the trial performance that gained him the race ticket return, he can feature.

ABBEY DIADEMA (7) has no favours from this gate yet has progressed into her campaign nicely. After a 1st up 3rd when returning 4 runs back, she arrived at Redcliffe 2 starts back for a nice win and can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: SHESFEELINPRECIOUS (8), MODERNDAY FALCON (5), BROOKESSMARTDANCER (1), ABBEY DIADEMA (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SHESFEELINPRECIOUS (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

COUNTRY RUN (3) pressed forward to find the front at Redcliffe last start from gate 4 over the 1780m before wilting in the run. Working home from back in the pack at each of his previous 2 starts, if he can take up the lamp lighting duties cheaply, he will get his chance to take them all the way.

SONNY ORLANDO (8) is in great touch but just not securing the rewards for his efforts in recent outings. Working home wide off the track last start after retreating from gate 5, it had followed a luckless effort in a much stronger contest behind COPPERFIELD. Grabbing gaps, he is right in this.

LIBERAL ARDEN (7) should find this a shade below what he has been facing and can look to capitalise despite the car park draw. Only 6m away in a 2nd division qualifier 2 starts back, he can close late.

ALWAYS AT NIGHT (5) found the tempo too sharp last start from the 2nd line when back in the pack behind COPPICE. His recent efforts have been disappointing, but this looks a good chance for a sharper return.

SELECTIONS: COUNTRY RUN (3), SONNY ORLANDO (8), LIBERAL ARDEN (7), ALWAYS AT NIGHT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SONNY ORLANDO (8) 1x4 win/place

RACE NINE

MARK DENNIS (1) may not have the greatest numbers next to his name from recent outings, yet that does not tell the real story. Eased from gate 5 last start, his individual splits were strong and 2 starts back he was too far back to feature. The improved gate can see him take the snipers shot.

IMA TOP TYCOON (7) held the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last time out and with the economical trip made the closing shot a winning one to claim a half-head victory. Firing out from gate 6 here 2 starts back, he couldn’t see it out over the 2138m. Despite the gate he can challenge.

COMPLY OR DIE (2) tried to make the most of the ace last start to take them all the way. Leading deep into the stretch, he was nabbed on the wire up the passing lane. He will be gripping on.

WATTLEBANK FLYER (4) will appreciate the return to claiming grade after being forced to work in the run when wilting behind the gun mare SMART AS CAMM BE. Only 2m away 2 starts back, look for him late.

SELECTIONS: MARK DENNIS (1), IMA TOP TYCOON (7), COMPLY OR DIE (2), WATTLEBANK FLYER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MARK DENNIS (1) to win

RACE TEN

VAN SANK (2) makes his Qld debut here, arriving to join the firing Shannon Price barn. Last seen at Ballarat back on Aug 19, he comes into this without a local trial. A winner under mobile conditions at Bendigo 2 starts back when sent straight to the front, his only run from the tapes saw him safely away prior to making an error in the run. He can start in style.

ROCKET NOVA (6) has mixed his form since arriving in Qld, with 2 smart runs balanced by errors in the 2 other outings. Too strong for them here 2 starts back over this trip from a 10m tape, he struck trouble last start when starting to move into the contest. If the manners are there, he can challenge.

CLOVER LOU (8) made the most of conditions last start to press forward when the tapes released, work to the front and then hold on for the prize. Despite the extra 10m impost, she is in the mix.

MALABAR SPUR (3) was buried away last start over this trip and when she did sight open space was able to work home in good order when 9m in arrears of the winner DOUG. Only 5m away the start prior, she is getting closer to a drought breaking victory.

SELECTIONS: VAN SANK (2), ROCKET NOVA (6), CLOVER LOU (8), MALABAR SPUR (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MALABAR SPUR (3) each-way
