RACE TWO

THEARTOFINFUSION (1) took on a 2nd division qualifier last start when landing inside the 2nd line. Buried in the run, he was able to force into open space and sprint sharply to claim an 8m victory. Not suited the start prior when forced to sit outside the leader, he lands the options to capitalise.

IMASPORTSTAR (3) settled in the running line from gate 2 last time out over the 2138m when making a strong closing challenge to get within a half-neck of the winner HANDSOME HERO. Forget his run 2 back when striking trouble, with placings his previous 2 in this grade, he is knocking on the door.

CAUTIVAR (10) started from the 2nd line last start when 2nd up from a break and was strong to the line in grabbing the silver behind STREET APPEAL. Despite another tough gate, he has claims in this.

CONVAIR HUSTLER (8) was sent to the post as fav last start when obliged to do it the tough way in the breeze. Punching on gamely when 8m from the winner, the easy trip looks to suit here.

SELECTIONS: THEARTOFINFUSION (1), IMASPORTSTAR (3), CAUTIVAR (10), CONVAIR HUSTLER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-8-10

RACE THREE

Menangle and Bendigo may try to boast of the depth of their respective events tonight, yet there is some class on the track here for this event. Headed by the reigning HOTY and former Victorian Derby winner COLT THIRTY ONE (7) who will be much fitter following his 1st up run last week. With bullets in the chamber, he scored a strong win from the breeze over the 2138m. Despite again landing the wide gate, he can make it win 40 at start 70.

ASHLEY LOCAZ (6) draws one position closer than his main adversary and from there can look to get an early march. Strong in claiming a 2138m victory when 2nd up off a long break, it had followed a 3m 2nd when resuming after the race developed into a turn and burn up the stretch. He will be throwing it down.

JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (1) will be best positioned if the tempo is lighting up the track as she can be tucked in behind the speed and not having spent a cent. Runner-up at her past 2, if she can hit the lane with momentum, she is a knockout hope.

MAYWYNS BEST (5) landed this gate last start over the 2138m which is not his best trip. Winning both starts prior at the mile, he can fire off the arm here and from the front can look to give plenty of cheek.

SELECTIONS: COLT THIRTY ONE (7), ASHLEY LOCAZ (6), JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (1), MAYWYNS BEST (5)
SUGGESTED BET: COLT THIRTY ONE (7) to win

RACE FOUR

This looks a nice FFA consolation where SECRETAGENT TYCOON (10) can look to defy the tough gate. Sent to the breeze last start over the mile, he was game in defeat when holding on for the silver behind BRIGHT ENERGY in a sizzling closing 800m of 54.2. Only 6m from NORTHVIEW HUSTLER the start prior, he can arrive over the top of them here.

OUR UNCLE SAM (5) finds his chance to bounce back into winning form after struggling to greet the judge this campaign. There have been some underlying issues that looked to have been sorted and his latest effort was sharper when 5m from COLT THIRTY ONE. This is his chance to breakthrough.

CLARKEY (1) will need a slice of luck as he looks set to be buried away, but with a sharp closing sprint when saved he will be probing for the gaps to make a closing play.

CHANTREY (6) was locked away from inside the 2nd line last start, hitting the line nicely when the gaps arrived o grab the silver behind MAYWYNS BEST. From this alley, he can fire early bullets.

SELECTIONS: SECRETAGENT TYCOON (10), OUR UNCLE SAM (5), CLARKEY (1), CHANTREY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SECRETAGENT TYCOON (10) to win

RACE FIVE

BEE GEES BANDIT (4) has worked his way into some nice form and lands a nice alley here. Looking to take them all the way 2 starts back, he set up a slick closing half when 3rd to BRIGHT ENERGY. That was franked with a sharp win in front here on Tuesday over the mile. He can look to repeat.

THE BUS (7) was runner-up again here last week in another brave defeat, this time by 1m. Obliged to toil away in the breeze over the 2138m, it was only the swooping LILAC FLASH to get past him. Beaten a similar margin behind the gun 3YO ONE CHANGE the start prior, he can throw it down.

CLARRY (3) was in behind the leader last time out when using the passing lane to be 3m in arrears of the winner LILAC FLASH. From the gate he can settle handy to push for a podium position.

SIR JULIAN (6) was locked away against the poles last start and when the gaps arrived, he was closing hard to be 6m from LILAC FLASH. Never far away, with even luck in transit he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: BEE GEES BANDIT (4), THE BUS (7), CLARRY (3), SIR JULIAN (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

COURAGEOUS SAINT (1) made a one-act affair of his Qld debut when sent straight to the front from gate 3 over the 2138m and never giving anything else a look-in. After a steady opening 800m, he dialled it up to rip home a slick 54.7 closing half. From this gate, they look set to be chasing.

SPRING CAMPAIGN (8) was snagged back from gate 7 last start to look for some short-cuts after settling a long way back in the pack. Closing in good order over the concluding stages, it was a tidy effort from the gate. With the cosy trip on offer, he can be ready to take the snipers shot.

TOMMY UNDER FIRE (3) was sent to the post as fav here last week when 2nd up from a freshen. Setting the tempo, he couldn’t fight them off when 2m in arrears. Early position will be key here.

MUCH BETTOR (2) could not go on with it in the closing stages last start when down the line behind MAFUTA VAUTIN. From this alley he can settle much closer to the action and looms as a place hope.

SELECTIONS: COURAGEOUS SAINT (1), SPRING CAMPAIGN (8), TOMMY UNDER FIRE (3), MUCH BETTOR (2)
SUGGESTED BET: COURAGEOUS SAINT (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1) has not tasted victory for some time yet he looks to have found the right conditions to turn that around here. Last time out he would have been closer with a cleaner passage when only 5m in arrears and 2 back he grabbed the bronze. He can look to dictate.

RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (8) speared out from gate 6 last time out to take control, with the leading duties costing a 27.4 opening panel. Looking to control the tempo, he could not see it out when fading late. Closing strongly 2 starts back, he will get the perfect trip to light the fuse in the stretch.

BUKTHSYSTEM (9) was a passing lane winner here 3 starts back when snagging in behind the leader and then using the passing lane to score. Not far away in both runs since, the pegs look on offer and he can be probing.

OUR UNCLE ALAN (2) was 1st up back with Donny Smith 2 runs back when proving too strong over the Redcliffe 2040m trip. Fading last start here over the mile, he looms as a podium chance in this.

SELECTIONS: RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1), RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (8), BUKTHSYSTEM (9), OUR UNCLE ALAN (2)
SUGGESTED BET: RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

Despite a differing draw type for the mares this week, the luckless MACH TORQUE (10) still comes up with the tough gate. Retreating from gate 7 last week, she never got a clean crack at them as the leader dictated. Strong late the week prior behind SMART AS CAMM BE, she might just have found the right conditions to arrive.

MADAMOISELLE JUJON (7) sat back in the pack last start from gate 10 before setting out after the leader as they turned for home. Eating into the deficit, she could not make up enough ground to get there in finishing 2m in arrears. The wide gate stings, but with even luck she can challenge.

RUNFORTHEROSES (2) could not find position last start from gate 4 and ended up snagging right back to the rear, ending her chances. Settling closer from this gate, she can be much sharper.

TAJIE BABY (6) was tracking into the race last week when holding down 3rd behind the winner SHEZ GRINNIN. Tough in the breeze the start prior at Redcliffe, she has podium claims again here.

SELECTIONS: MACH TORQUE (10), MADAMOISELLE JUJON (7), RUNFORTHEROSES (2), TAJIE BABY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MACH TORQUE (10) to win

RACE NINE

STREET APPEAL (1) has been a level below what he had shown last campaign in recent starts, but some bad gates certainly have not been helping the cause either. Bouncing back last start, he finished powerfully to cruise past from gate 10 to claim a smart victory. With the big gate improvement, he can dictate.

TYPHOON STRIDE (5) was 2nd up in Qld last time out when settling near the rear after easing to find position. Attacking the line in the closing stages, with better luck and a clearer passage, he would have given it a big shake. The gate is a little sticky here, but with even luck he can look to challenge.

THE FORTUNATE SON (8) will take some further benefit from his latest start when 2nd up in Qld. Setting the tempo, he couldn’t finish them off when fading late. The easier trip will suit here.

CALLMEDEMARO (9) finished best from this gate to score in a mid-week event 2 runs back and followed that with a 3rd in 2nd division qualifier. The pegs might be the play here and he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: STREET APPEAL (1), TYPHOON STRIDE (5), THE FORTUNATE SON (8), CALLMEDEMARO (9)
SUGGESTED BET: STREET APPEAL (1) to win

RACE TEN

OUR OVERANOVA (10) was obliged to do it the tough way last start under mobile conditions when grinding away outside the leader. With too many arrows in the quiver, he hit the target in great style to claim his 49th victory here at The Creek. Always in the thick of it, will this be the half-century?

WEE MAN TROUBLE (7) should appreciate moving 10m closer under the conditions here after starting from the 30m tape last time he tackled this trip. Closing strongly on that occasion when 2m in arrears of the winner CASTLERAGH, his individual splits last time out were sharp and he can arrive.

CASTLERAGH (2) has the benefit of maintaining the front tape over this trip after scoring in similar conditions last start. Finishing best on that occasion, he will need to get the start right for a repeat.

GREG THE GREAT (9) closed strongly last start from the 2138m mobile when 3m from the winner OUR OVERANOVA after starting from the 2nd line. The tactics from those back in the pack look all important here and that could ultimately decide the winner of this race.

SELECTIONS: OUR OVERANOVA (10), WEE MAN TROUBLE (7), CASTLERAGH (2), GREG THE GREAT (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE ELEVEN

He will likely start at a short quote but ONE CHANGE (5) won’t be gifted this race the way the draw has worked out. Undefeated in 3 starts since arriving with Viki Rasmussen, he has been able to put away the older horses on each occasion. He did it from the front last time and while he will need to work, his class will get him home.

WILL THE WIZARD (1) loves to roll out in front and from the gate he can make sure that anything that gets past him will have earned it. Scoring a strong win from the breeze last start when circling them early from gate 11, his run in a sub 1.51-mile 2 back was a nice effort. He will give them the target.

VIRGIL (2) returns from a freshen after his last outing came when scoring over the 2138m trip via the passing lane. With the chance to dart in behind the speed here, he can chime into the money.

BOMBADIER JUJON (4) has been chipping away all season as he builds his resume nicely, lining up here with 6 wins and 5 minors from his 15 starts. Shooting for the hat-trick, he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: ONE CHANGE (5), WILL THE WIZARD (1), VIRGIL (2), BOMBADIER JUJON (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 5 / 1 / 2-3-4
