RACE TWO

With a superb record here on his home track, this race comes up at the perfect time for LIFES BLACK (1) to claim a qualifying victory. Backing up from Tuesday where he was bereft of all luck after being angled to the pegs and then never spotting a gap. A winner here 2 starts back, he can dictate in this.

SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (4) has been threatening without landing a winning blow in recent outings, the latest when using the passing lane from the pocket trail to grab the silver behind LE TISSIER. Locked away 2 starts back as BELLA BALL TERROR dictated, he can look to throw down the challenge.

ALI DOWNUNDER (3) settled 5 back in a single file line last start before sliding up the leader DANCE IN THE SUN from the 600m. With a sub 28 closing panel, he outlasted the leader with a smart victory and with a good record here can feature.

PEBBLE SANDS (7) was a winner here last start when spearing out from gate 4 to take them all the way. Runner-up here 3 starts back when trying to lead throughout, he will be ready for the lane.

SELECTIONS: LIFES BLACK (1), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (4), ALI DOWNUNDER (3), PEBBLE SANDS (7)
SUGGESTED BET: LIFES BLACK (1) to win

RACE THREE

The gate will make it a little tricky for ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (8), but he might just have found the right conditions for a breakthrough victory. Using plenty in the early stages last start but unable to get across to lead as LE TISSIER repelled the challenge, he fought on gamely in the closing stages. Too far back the start prior, saved for one shot can see him arrive.

KATACHA MAN (1) is on the back up from Wednesday night where he slid forward from gate 4 to sit parked over the sprint trip and was grafting it out to hold 3rd when 3m from the dictating winner BLOOD MONEY. Doing it the tough way behind the flying TRACER BULLET 2 starts back, he comes up with the alley to challenge.

BARKWAY ARNOLD (7) is a three-time winner on this track and from this alley should secure the right trip in behind the action. Not too far away in recent outings, he can join in up the lane here.

BOMB SUIT (5) returns to Qld to join the Ricky Thurlow stable and arrives with a win 5 starts back at Newcastle but his recent runs have been a mix of bad luck and tough gates. The gate stings again.

SELECTIONS: ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (8), KATACHA MAN (1), BARKWAY ARNOLD (7), BOMB SUIT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (8) to win

RACE FOUR

With a record that shows no return in 3 attempts on this track, BELLA BALL TERROR (1) comes up with the right alley to amend that anomaly. Shooting for a hat-trick of wins last start, he was in for the fight after working hard when parked from gate 7 over the AP mile. Too strong in front over the 2138m the start prior, he can look for an all the way effort.

LE TISSIER (4) showed good hustle out of the Hilux last week over the mile at headquarters to hold them wide. Backing it right off and allowed to walk the 2nd panel in 33, he was always going to have arrows in the quiver for the closing rally, holding to score a 4m victory. He ventures up the Houghton Highway to the Peninsula for the first time.

OUR BONDI BEACH (2) started from gate 2 last start when holding the 1x1 trail and trying to make a closing play as BEAU CISHOLM took the passing lane shot. Forced to retreat after an early burn the start prior, he has place claims.

WE SALUTE YOU (8) backs up from Wednesday night where he was able to chime in late to grab the bronze behind MARK OF INTEGRITY. Dropping to the poles looks a play for him to chime in late.

SELECTIONS: BELLA BALL TERROR (1), LE TISSIER (4), OUR BONDI BEACH (2), WE SALUTE YOU (8)
SUGGESTED BET: BELLA BALL TERROR (1) to win

RACE FIVE

The first of two mares’ qualifiers on the card where RAANI (2) can look to take advantage from her gate. Sent out as the favourite last start from gate 5 over the AP mile, she was asked to sit parked but could not cope and faded in the closing stages. Taking them all the way here 2 starts back, she gets the chance to repeat that effort.

BRILLIANT ART (4) has a great affinity with this track and getting the chance to tackle this grade at this track looks ideal. A sound effort after doing some early work 2 starts back behind SPIRITED BELLE, she has been racing much better than the returns suggest and with even luck she can throw it down.

MOLLIESMARYELLE (9) started from outside the front line at The Creek on Tuesday when snagging back to the fence before finding the line in nice order to grab 4th. Only 2m from SHE KOALA TEE 3 runs back, she can join in.

SHEZALUCKYLADY (1) has been runner-up at her past 2 starts, the latest when making a closing raid at Marburg to be just a half-neck shy of the prize. This is another step up, but the gate is a big plus.

SELECTIONS: RAANI (2), BRILLIANT ART (4), MOLLIESMARYELLE (9), SHEZALUCKYLADY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: RAANI (2) to win

RACE SIX

Responsible for a huge performance last week when just missing in FFA company, GOVERNOR JUJON (5) can defy the tough alley to claim this. Sent forward to sit parked, the speed was on all the way and despite the tough trip, he made one last lunge after darting back to the passing lane to be half-head from the winner L L COOL J. Undefeated in 4 outings to Redcliffe, he can claim a five-for.

ROCKNROLL ICON (1) capitalised on the ace gate last week over the AP mile to lead them all the way in a career best winning rate. That win was a nice reward for his recent performances after some sectionally superb returns without getting the results to back the effort. From the gate he gets the chance to throw it down again.

MAJOR FERNCO (2) has been to Redcliffe on one previous occasion when starting from the outside the 2nd line in a race dictated by CRINCH TIME. Charging home from back in the pack last start to be just 2m from the winner, he can be closer to the action to feature.

EL AGUILA (7) will enjoy the economical trip in behind the action here and taking the short cuts can look to fill the podium. Forced to step up to open company last week, he will be slicing through.

SELECTIONS: GOVERNOR JUJON (5), ROCKNROLL ICON (1), MAJOR FERNCO (2), EL AGUILA (7)
SUGGESTED BET: GOVERNOR JUJON (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

Heats for this Final were held here 10 days ago and despite having his first look at the track on that occasion, HEMSWORTH (9) was never in danger in claiming a 5m victory. Allowed to amble through the first 3 splits, it was not much more than a training run, zipping up the stretch to score. With what appears a significant class edge on his opponents, he looks to have a firm hold on the prize.

SHAKATIE (1) held on for the bronze in her heat as CATCH PHRASE took them all the way and has since ventured to The Creek where she settled in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line. With the economical trip in that event, she was just 3m from the winner in holding 2nd and can finish in the money again here.

DOCTA FEELGOOD (5) has no favours from the wide gate but an early play to get forward might be the play to help his finishing position. Eased to the poles last start and then running home, he can chime into the money.

MISSTREPO (7) started from gate 1 in the same heat as HEMSWORTH and taking the trail tried to eat into the deficit when holding 2nd. Fitter for that run where she was resuming from a spell, she will be probing.

SELECTIONS: HEMSWORTH (9), SHAKATIE (1), DOCTA FEELGOOD (5), MISSTREPO (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 9 / 1-4-5-7

RACE EIGHT

Praying for a barrier has not helped PIPPA MAGUIRE (9) who has faced a tough run of terrible gates that continues here. Eased from gate 6 last start, it was always going to be a tough ask against the tempo as CALVERT HOT SHOT ripped home. Back to mares only grade is a plus and with the right tempo, she can look to make the closing shot a winning one.

CALL ME TRISH (1) tackled one of these mares’ qualifier at headquarters last week from gate 2. Settled in the running line, she was making a 3-wide challenge to find the podium as AMERICAN FLYER took the prize in front. A half-neck from the airborne TRACER BULLET 3 runs back, she has the gate to throw it down.

MAFFIOSO GIRL (4) is a speedster out of the machine and from this alley will have a look. Winning here 3 starts back when forced to sit parked, she was gunned down at her next start when finding the front from this gate. She can fire the early bullets.

ASHLEE NITRO (5) has a great record on this surface and from the gate can ease back and be saved for a closing raid. Closing strongly to be just 3m from the winner 2 starts back, look for her swooping.

SELECTIONS: PIPPA MAGUIRE (9), CALL ME TRISH (1), MAFFIOSO GIRL (4), ASHLEE NITRO (5)
SUGGESTED BET: PIPPA MAGUIRE (9) to win

RACE NINE

A drop back from open company to veteran’s grade looks the ideal catalyst for ZAHVEN BANNER (7) to find winning form. Locked away from gate 1 last start, he found the tempo too slick when wilting late behind L L COOL J. That followed an 8m 3rd to TURN IT UP. With the chance to get away from the poles early as the lone runner out the back, he gets every chance.

JONAH JONES (5) held the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last week and with the perfect trip was best of the chasers behind ROCKNROLL ICON to hold on for the silver. Luckless in consecutive starts when hemmed away on the poles, he has the tough gate to negotiate but is capable of challenging.

GOODBOY COWBOY (2) eased from gate 4 last start and from the running line was trying to make a play as BEAU CISHLOM landed the winning blow up the passing lane. From this alley he is in the mix.

BEAU CISHLOM (6) sat in behind the speed last week from inside the 2nd line and with the cosy trip hit the target up the passing lane. 3rd the start prior, the wide gate stings but he still has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: ZAHVEN BANNER (7), JONAH JONES (5), GOODBOY COWBOY (2), BEAU CISHLOM (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ZAHVEN BANNER (7) to win

RACE TEN

It might be a small field of 5 to end the card, but there is some intrigue to this contest with all 5 off different lines and a combined total of 2 Redcliffe wins across the entire field. DOUG (4) boasts one of those wins when scoring in the Christmas Cup here last start from this same tape. The enigma has put it together in recent starts to complete a hat-trick of wins and can go again.

SIR FAHRENHEIT (5) has traversed The Triangle four times under race conditions and has yet to land a victory. Rounding out the 2022 Season as one of the top Qld trotters with wins in 6 of his last 8 starts for the season including feature success, he gave DOUG 30m last start which proved a bridge too wide. He will throw it down.

KINGDOM COME (2) looks best served from his last meeting with DOUG where he was runner-up in the Christmas Cup coming off equal terms. Starting 20m in front this time around, he can be close enough and the small field suits his pattern.

SELECTIONS: DOUG (4), SIR FAHRENHEIT (5), KINGDOM COME (2)
SUGGESTED BET:
