Ipswich Turf Club outage through September

Racing Queensland, in conjunction with club management, has scheduled an outage period from racing at Ipswich Turf Club in September 2022 to facilitate a track renovation.

To that end and to accommodate the process, the following changes have been made to the race dates calendar and race meeting programmes during this period:

 

Ipswich Turf Club, Thursday, September 8 - Transferred to Sunshine Coast Turf Club Poly Track

  • Class 5 Handicap – was 1666m, is now 1600m;
  • Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 3 Handicap – was 1350m, is now 1400m;
  • Fillies & Mares Class 3 Handicap – was 1350m, is now 1400m;
  • Class 1 Handicap – was 1666m, is now 1600m;
  • Ratings Band 0 – 60 Handicap – was 1200m, is now 1100m;
  • Maiden Handicap – was 1350m, is now 1400m;
  • Three Year Old Benchmark 65 Handicap – was 800m, is now 1000m; and
  • Three Year Old Maiden Handicap – was 1200m, is now 1100m.

Ipswich Turf Club, Friday, September 16 - Transferred to Kilcoy Race Club

  • Class 2 Handicap – was 1350m, is now 1500m;
  • Class 5 Handicap – was 1350m, is now 1200m;
  • Class 2 Handicap – remains at 1100m;
  • Benchmark 65 Handicap – was 1666m, is now 1500m;
  • Ratings Band 0 – 62 Handicap – was 2150m, is now 2076m;
  • Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Handicap – remains at 1200m;
  • Fillies & Mares Maiden Handicap – remains at 1200m; and
  • Three Year Old Benchmark 62 Handicap – remains at 1100m.

Please note the change to the apprentice claim category for this meeting.

 

Mackay Turf Club, Tuesday, September 20  - Rescheduled to Thursday, September 22

Whilst there have been no program alterations made to races at this meeting, the closure deadlines have been amended.

Stakeholders should also note despite the venue and program changes, prize money for all of the race meetings impacted upon remains as has been previously published.
