The popular Ipswich Auction sale and race series has become even more lucrative with record prize money on offer.

The Ipswich Puppy Auction is the only greyhound puppy auction in Queensland.

To be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022, the auction is restricted to pups that have been whelped between October 1, 2021, and June 1, 2022.

In an exciting development for the code in the Sunshine State, Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club will lift prize money for the series to more than $120,000 in 2024.

Record prize money will be on offer for the 520-metre series, with $100,000 to the winner and $25,000 for second and $12,500 for third.

The series will be held over 520 metres and will consist of heats, Semi-Finals (if required) and a Final that is espected to be staged in April 2024.

There will also be a Consolation Final over 520 metres with $7,000 to the winner and a 431-metre series, expected to be held in February 2024, with $14,000 to the winner.

A $10,000 breeder bonus will be paid to the breeder of the winner and $500 to the breeder of each starting finalist.

The nomination fee for the series is $110 for a pup in the sale.
